Thinking of you Anne and Neine. 🌹🌹

Today we went to our solicitor to sign contracts, dare I believe at last it’s happening!not given a date yet but things are moving on.Our youngest DGS is 9 today they have gone to an indoor water park as the weather is terrible.Family tea on Saturday.

Yiayia hopeful news for you too. I have had a pottering day. I've washed floors, done an ironing, put the clothes away, sorted a dodgy cupboard door, tidied the garden, hoovered, weeded and blethered to my neighbours. My newish neighbours across the road have gone to their holiday home abroad so I put out their bin as well as mine. Tonight's dinner is chorizo and gnocchi in a tomato sauce with added celery, onion, homegrown peppers and mushrooms. My lunch was equally bits and pieces from the fridge. I feel very virtuous today. No doubt pride will come before a fall. Annsixty I hope you feel a bit better today. Sometimes a new day helps. Have a good evening Kitcheners

Good news Blossoming.
I’m put to shame by industrious kitcheners, it rained most of today, I was very lazy, even MrJ ironed, as he does, eleven shirts!
Hope poorlies are still recovering, those missing with heartache have had a gentle day and you all sleep well tonight.

Nannytopsy Wed 02-Aug-23 21:45:13

What lovely sentiments Jax.
We have done quite a lot today but not really enough. Apart from anything else, I have three baskets of ironing.

brook2704 Wed 02-Aug-23 22:04:33

Exciting times Yia, hope you get a moving in date soon and you’re soon settled into your new home
Good news Blossoming, a full 6 months now before your next appt
We’ve had another lovely day here, busy but good. We’ve been at the crazy golf and play park most of the day and then playing games this evening. A bit cool this morning but warm this afternoon in the sunshine. It’s been quite hectic though with 4 children and 5 adults to feed again this evening, I did a top up shop, unfortunately forgot to buy extra wine but luckily had enough G&T in instead. A bit tricky when out with the DGC today, two are allowed sweets and crisps etc, the other two aren’t allowed many and only as a treat, so trying to strike a balance isn’t easy 🙄
Sounds like you’ve had another full on day grandmabatty, non stop, you must have loads of energy
What did you say the name of your ironing company was Jax? I’ll send some down to you please …. 😀

Hello! Just a quick visit. Many congratulations to those of you with wonderful news and commiserations to those of you who are suffering. I had a lovely time at the WI coffee morning. Meanwhile, the cleaner cleaned my house! I popped into our nearby town and bought birthday and wedding cards and a present. I’d hoped to go to a building society we use to move some money. They have changed their opening hours to just Monday, Thursday and Friday. So I’ll have to go tomorrow. I booked my airport bus tickets today! I’m just beginning to get excited. Sleep tight.

Blossoming Be gentle with yourself. You are doing so well. smile

gillgran Lovely to see you in the kitchen. flowers

soop Thu 03-Aug-23 16:06:12

That's more like it, Yia. You have been beyond patient. Us lot are chuffed on your behalf.

Hugs for Mr Jax. Your kind words were appropriate and uplifting, Jax

I experienced a mad moment immediately after lunch. I emptied the middle wardrobe that contains all manner of accessories and tidied it to near perfection. At one point, I had to kneel to tidy the lower shelf. Getting down made my joints squeak. Getting up was almost beyond my capabilities. I am not glowing in a ladylike fashion, I am sweating like a navvy. hmm

Away to tidy myself and make tea. I shall then watch Tipping Point and The Chase. The latter being my favourite.

My best wishes tou all our Kitcheners.

Jaxjacky Thu 03-Aug-23 18:56:34

I never get those mad moments soop!
Thorough clean today of oven, hob and microwave, needed by all of them, I dislike cooking in an even remotely grubby kitchen.
It rained late on, thought maybe one dry day, but no, greenhouse veg have been fed. As will we be in the next hour.
Sounds lovingly hectic brook, as MrJ’s ironing agent, I’ll negotiate 🙂
What an adventure llfl nearly there, three sleeps?
Have a pleasant evening all.

Nearly forgot, the grandchildren earlier this week at Hinton Ampner NT property.

I’m so happy for you YiaYia, hopefully not too much longer!

What a busy lot you all are! I had one final batch of paperwork to sort through, it had been hiding in a corner in a shopping bag. It gave me quite a jolt to realise that it was paperwork related to my head injury - doctors reports, arrangements for hospital transfers, insurance documents, work related stuff, expenses, receipts, etc. My lovely boss and MrB had dealt with it all as I was far too poorly! Into the shredder with it. There was also an envelope containing photos of a walk we did along part of the Southern Uplands way, Killintringan, Castle Kennedy and other landmarks. I cried remembering how fit and happy I was, then just 2 weeks later it all came crashing down. We had intended to continue the walk the following year. Instead I was barely able to stand.

We really don’t know what’s around the corner. Love to you all flowers

cornergran Thu 03-Aug-23 21:26:01

Good news yiayia, I’m so pleased for you.

You put me to shame soop, such clearing and sorting always stays on my maybe one day list. Especially if it involves kneeling down.

My big news is Mr C is coming home tomorrow. He’s very excited. I’m pleased, of course I am, but also frankly scared! I’m no nurse, will do my best while having serious doubts it will be good enough. He is very weak and needs a tortoise rather than a hare approach. Hard for the natural hare that he is.

We’re told both procedures have been totally successful, hooray. There have been some scary moments, fortunately a few days ago. We’re very fortunate in that our younger son can re-jig his day to be taxi. I’m more relieved than you can know. I don’t have to drive and find the elusive somewhere to park. Phew.

Wish me luck! .

Time for me to head to bed. Sleep well everyone. TOYA.

Jaxjacky Thu 03-Aug-23 21:34:06

The best news corner, pinny at the ready and GOOD LUCK, you’ll be fine.

Foxygloves Thu 03-Aug-23 21:37:00

A familiar feeling Cornergran but happy for you. Hospitals are the antithesis of relaxing places and people generally do so much better-and more quickly- once home.
Is Mr C in line for any sort of “re-enabling” (I think) programme? DH had 6 weeks of the offer of carers 4x a day plus OT and general support for me. After his heart operation 12 years ago he was also put on a cardiac rehab course . I wonder if these still exist and would be appropriate?
Do accept any offers of help from friends and family whether with shopping, preparing meals, laundry or just keeping Mr C company so that you can have a nap if you feel like it.
Best wishes to you both.

kittylester Thu 03-Aug-23 21:38:53

So pleased fir you both corner. Take it easy. I'm sure it's a scary prospect bit you are sensible and capable. It will be fine.

Blossoming Thu 03-Aug-23 21:55:21

Absolutely wonderful news Cornergran! I can understand your apprehension but I’m sure you’ll be fine flowers

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 03-Aug-23 22:48:46

That’s very good news Corner!

dustyangel Fri 04-Aug-23 07:47:55

Wonderful news Corner.

gillgran Fri 04-Aug-23 08:59:17

Cornergran, I hope all goes well for you & MrC today, it will be good for him to be able to continue his recovery at home. "There's no place like home", is there.

Warm thoughts to you all in soop's friendly kitchen, especially those with extra worries & problems.

Oh my ...lots and lots of good news in the kitchen. That is so lovely to read.
Corner... You will be fine...the best nurse ever to your beloved man... that's the difference between home and hospital...love.
Yia... The end is in sight it seems and soon you'll be posting from your new home. We are looking forward to seeing pictures.
SueD...happiness unbounded on both sides of the Atlantic I'm sure...
LLFL... We are excited with you...its come around so quickly ( or maybe that's just me).
Soop... I'm glad injuries ( are you and Mr Soop trying to outdo one another with poorly heads) are improving and you have your sparkle back and your domestic goddess genie is back on form too. It's a lovely feeling to get a cupboard or wardrobe organised isn't it? I did the same last week...I even purchased a basket and matched up (colour wise) my bras and pants...tucking the pants into the cups of the bras. It won't last and very soon I'll be scrabbling through trying to find the pink pants that match the pink bra etc but it's nice while it lasts.
Ann...I'm so sorry you are feeling sad ..it's probably not helped by being back after a lovely time away. That coming home after a holiday feeling...and the weather isn't helping too. I hope a little light and happiness comes back for you very soon.
Blossoming...I wasn't on the thread this time last year so I'm not sure what happened but whatever it was you seem to have faced it with courage and tenacity to get your life back and with what comes across as a gentleness of heart too.
Lots of happy posts about time spent with families and DGC...enjoy those exhausting visits... they pass all too quickly.

I don't want to bring down the mostly happy atmosphere in the kitchen and in truth I'm still reeling and broken from Tuesday so will leave it until later to tell you what happened.

Sending love to you all.
