Glad you’re feeling better Blossoming 🙂, good luck tomorrow.
You’re right Sue Stuart Broad, last smack with the bat a six, last bowling, two wickets, a perfect ending for him.
I too hope today went peacefully for neine.
I had an energetic morning, most unlike me, I normally take time to get going, lots of indoors jobs done, a little in the garden until a hefty shower stopped play, I’m now ready for a quiet evening.
Hope MrC had a better night and his recovery is on track.
You sound weary ann and a bit lonely, maybe tomorrow you could have a treat with some company as well.
Welcome to our newcomers, we’ll all budge up a bit.
Still in my thoughts every day Urms, Baggs* … and Sue awaiting blood results.
Have a gentle evening all.

Good evening Kitcheners. Today was a long one. Dgs1 is still not himself and didn't want to do anything much again which made for a long day. I did manage to persuade him to go out to the garden (in the pouring rain) and both boys stomped about in wellies and got soaking wet. They were happy though. Then we went for a walk and that helped. He asked to speak to mummy and fortunately she was able to call him which cheered him up. I dropped them off and they were both happy. I visited mum and she was ok. Then home for gammon salad with new potatoes and watermelon and feta salad too. I'm full. I'm watching Harry Potter now and lying about. I hope Brook and her grandchildren are having a good time. Have a good evening Kitcheners

Hello everyone. As the song says what a difference a day makes.

The humps the road weee ironed out this morning, potholes filled and Mr C was very much happier by lunch time. He has managed a walk with a physio, pacing wires are out and other tethers removed so he’s no longer attached to noisy machines,

You’re right about HDU charley, what a row! The really good news is Mr C finally made it to a ward this evening. Room on his own with bathroom facilities. He sounds very excited about it all. I’m sure he’ll progress speedily now and before we know it we’ll be working out discharge.

Oh yea of little faith charley, I’m having a proper meal each day and for too many snacks. I’ll not starve.

I’m so sorry there’s tension in your home ann, hard to live with.

I’m full of admiration for your tenacity and patience with those two boys grandmab. You get this weeks best grandma award.

A hello to the newcomers. My apologies, too much going on in my world to greet you any sooner.

Please send any spare energy jax, could do with some.

It’s early but my eyes are shutting, best disappear.

Sleep well everyone. TOYA.

kittylester Tue 01-Aug-23 21:28:29

Good to hear from you corner, you sound relieved. Thanks for the update.

I'm too jiggered to do more than send a big gentle hug to Ann and send live to everyone else. TOYA

Jaxjacky Tue 01-Aug-23 21:29:00

Great news corner I’ll whizz some over first thing tomorrow, sleep well.

brook2704 Tue 01-Aug-23 22:19:50

Such positive news corner hoping Mr C is enjoying his 5* en-suite room but is ready to vacate it soon
I’ve had such a lovely day today, the sun’s been shining and all 4 DGC ( three DGSs, 6, 8 and 9 and just the one 8year old DGD) have all been playing well together and having a great time. We’ve been to Brodie Castle , one of our regular go to places with the children. I wish I could share a photo of them all with you, I got some lovely ones today of them all together and with happy smiley faces. Then all back to ours for a run around in the garden. Even my two DDs seemed to get on reasonably ok today, even though there’s still quite a lot of competitiveness between them and vast differences in the two families.
Hoping today has gone ok for neine
Sorry to hear you’re unsettled and sad ann definitely a difficult situation for you. Hoping you’ve some happy memories to think back on for your anniversary tomorrow 💐
Hoping your appointment goes ok tomorrow Blossoming

Blossoming Tue 01-Aug-23 22:32:13

Thank you Brook, I’m not so nervous now as I was at my first appointment!

Sorry you’re feeling blue Ann flowers

Lovely news Cornergran

Charleygirl5 Tue 01-Aug-23 22:38:49

corner delighted to hear that Mr.C has his own en suite facilities. With any luck he will sleep better tonight in a quieter room.

At least the staff will not be in and out like yo-yos as they will be able to monitor his heart from the nurses station. A plus for technology.

If the food is good please do not allow him to get too settled because he has a home and an exhausted wife to return to hopefully soon.

neine I hope all went well today and you are home feeling more relaxed. It would not have been an easy day.

ann it sounds as though you need another holiday!

soop I hope you and Mr. soop are recovering from your wounds.
TOYA

SueDonim Tue 01-Aug-23 22:49:13

Good news, first - my son’s blood tests came back clear! He’ll be on 3-monthly checks now for three years but hopefully they’ll all just be a formality. It’s a huge relief, although to be honest, my head is just birling away and I’m trying to process the whole thing. It’s hard to take it all in.

Corner I’m glad the roadmenders have been out and MrC is installed in a swish room. 🤞 He is soon installed in his own bedroom at home.

It’s lovely to see cousins playing together, isn’t it, Brook? My GD here adores her cousins, though they don’t meet very often.

Sending you some flowers Annsixty. I’ll think of you with your special memories tomorrow. Xx

I hope you were able to bid farewell to your sister as you wished, Neine.

All from me today. Xxx

kittylester Wed 02-Aug-23 07:28:35

What brilliant news, Sue! wine

brook2704 Wed 02-Aug-23 07:32:37

That’s such brilliant news SueD I’m so thrilled for you and your DS and family, wishing him all the very best for a happy and healthy future

Nannytopsy Wed 02-Aug-23 08:13:42

What good news from both SueD &The Corners! Well done Grandmabatty - I hope you get some rest soon.
It’s been raining hard and the forecast isn’t good, so today it’s housework, ready for a houseful of visitors at the weekend. There is officially no more room in either freezer but tomorrow’s the day to start defrosting things for cooking on Friday. 17 adults, 2 babies and 7 children to cater for, if everyone turns up. I have my doubts about one family of 4 …

Grandmabatty Wed 02-Aug-23 08:35:30

I just saw the good news about Suedonim's ds and Cornergran's DH. I'm really happy for both ladies.

Jaxjacky Wed 02-Aug-23 09:19:22

What good news SueD I’ve very pleased for you all, much joy all round.

cornergran Wed 02-Aug-23 09:24:11

Wonderful news SueD. X

GrannyGravy13 Wed 02-Aug-23 09:27:14

It is a joy to pop into the kitchen and have good news.

Cornergran and SueDonim I sense the weight lifting from your shoulders 😘

annsixty no matter what age our family members are, as a mum and gran I think we are programmed to worry. I was told long ago that a we are only as happy as our unhappiest child.

Our Aussie contingent arrive at the end of the week. DH and I have had to turn down VIP tickets to Goodwood on Friday to see our friends horse race, as per usual in the school holidays we are on granny duty

Will pop later 🙋‍♀️

soop Wed 02-Aug-23 14:10:42

HAPPY news from SueD and much better news from Corner regarding her dear husband. I am delighted for you both.

soop Wed 02-Aug-23 14:21:46

Dear annsixty, I sympathise with you as you deal with the very unsettling and ongoing stress in your own home. I also understand that you must miss your husband's wisdom and support. flowers

annsixty Wed 02-Aug-23 14:24:50

Very good news from Cornergran and Suedomin, both your hearts must be so much lighter.

I had a BG engineer out this morning, my boiler was firing up when it shouldn’t, a sticking valve has been replaced and the seal on some other part replaced, he had just gone when my hairdresser turned up, I had forgotten she was coming, that is about the third time in about a year, very embarrassed.
She told me had my H been alive still we would have had a greeting from the King for our 65th anniversary, we did receive one on our 60th from the Queen.

Now going to have avery late lunch.
Have the best afternoon you can everyone.

annsixty Wed 02-Aug-23 14:26:04

Thank you all for kind messages, it it something I have learned to live with sadly.

soop Wed 02-Aug-23 14:32:21

GrannyGravy You sound well busy. We also have Aussie visitors expected during the month of October. Mr S's sisters and family live in Perth.

Nannytopsy and GrandmBatty You are stars! xx

Mr Soop is treating the wood floors throuout the house. Little by little, I am permitted to use certain areas of the rooms he's treated. The washing up must wait until the area by the sink is dry. Oh dear! I'm devastated. wink

gillgran Wed 02-Aug-23 14:39:17

I am pleased to read of good news from SueDonim, & reassuring news from Cornergran of MrC's progress.
A time for looking forward.

flowers & special thoughts for annsixty.

Warm wishes for you all in soop's cosy kitchen.

Blossoming Wed 02-Aug-23 14:59:52

I can feel your immense disappointment from here Soop grin

Just back from hospital eye clinic, everything looking good, next appointment in six months. I find the eye tests really tiring, am going to lie down and listen to a podcast or two.
