Hello everybody, especially MrC!
We had 15 adults, 4 children and two babies here yesterday and over an inch of rain. DS put up an event shelter on our large patio, directly outside the patio doors and we all sat under there. It was their choice and meant we were all together rather than separate rooms. We had only seen my brother and his wife once in about 4 years, and were glad for them to see our “new” home.
Such a lovely day and several people to breakfast too! Now we are fairly tidy, have lovely leftovers for our meal shortly and a nice glass of wine.
Neine I hope you’re doing ok.
It’s sunny here now - of course - and I hope all of you are having some sunshine. Xx

Lots of family meet ups, they sound delightful SueD and Nannytopsy with soop having one to look forward to.
Sorry you feel rough grandmabatty I’ve had a cough for a few days, it seems to be on its way out 🤞
We visited our local earlier, they’ve got a charity day, with music, it was very busy, I won twice on the bottle stall.
My daughter and the children called in here, they’re off on holiday in a couple of days and just a little excited.
I hope Mr&Mrscorner have had a gentle day, with no surprises, dinner is roast chicken, so I’d better go and sort out veg.
Enjoy your evening..
PS it didn’t rain today!

A very quick and late Good morning to all.
My friend is taking me back to the mobility shop tomorrow and then out for lunch.
She is once again making me chuckle if whilst grinding my teeth.
She has also been considering a mobility scooter….. oh yes, how long for?
I can lay money on it that she gets one before me.
I am still desperate not to make a mistake and choosing exactly the right one for me.

Hi to all kitchen pals, it’s been a gorgeous day here in Inverness. Our plans changed when DD2 messaged first thing asking if we could take DGS out somewhere for the day as the rest of the family had a sickness bug. So we picked him up and we’ve been on a hike up to the Fyrish monument, just north of Inverness. The views were lovely and it was really good exercise for DHs new knee, he was pleased he’d made it up and down without too much trouble even though we went slowly. DGS is staying here for a sleepover tonight and it’ll be more of the same tomorrow 😀
Hoping you get the best mobility ann before your friend does!

I’ve never heard of Fyrish, Brook, despite having travelled the A9 from Thurso to Inverness many times in the 1980’s! I’ve looked it up, it sounds interesting.

I’m not long back from a day at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with a group of twelve. It’s been great fun and now my throat has gone funny because I’ve been talking so much. blush grin

G’night, all! X

A very quick visit from me. 2 successful tip runs today and the airing cupboard has been cleared out ready for the annual boiler service tomorrow. He’s supposed to be arriving between 8am and 1pm. Am sat up in bed with a mug of hot chocolate. Goodnight all, will try to catch up tomorrow x

Hello! I’m in Sydney where it’s freezing. I tried posting earlier but it disappeared into the ether. My brother in law is an artist. Here’s one of his paintings.

You are all such busy bees - I stand (or rather lounge with a mug of tea to hand) in awe!
My busy few days of granny duty behind me I feel I have done my bit for the Brum GC, each individually for a few days and all three back in early July when Mummy and Daddy went to Paris for the weekend.
I am wary of attaching pics but this one of GS2 “man at work” is too sweet to keep to myself. He make a smashing job of my shed and was so proud of his handiwork!
Now I feel guilty because circumstances have not permitted the same level of support to the London GC! My current lameness makes the thought of walking any distance an excruciating prospect and I could not do London childcare without a fair bit of walking. To be fair, neither D has asked me to but like all of you, I imagine, I am obsessive about treating my children even handedly!
New courtesy car arrived yesterday while mine is being un-bent (plus a new rear door ) but it is so shiny I am afraid to drive it anywhere in case another inanimate object is magnetically down into contact with it.
Like jaxjacky I hate a grubby cooker and my ovens are a disgrace. The last time I treated myself to a visit from Ovenu (other firms are available) I loved the result, but so much so I didn’t want to cook anything and get it dirty again!
Sorry for prattling on about me- I hope Mr C is making good progress and that Cornergran is not too frazzled. How lovely to get support from friends and family. It’s when you really appreciate good neighbours too.
Thoughts for absent friends- Urmston and Kalu if you are looking in and all with heavy loads - brave Baggs , Naughtyneine and any I have not named.
Finally HAPPY BIRTHDAY Soop from your loving Kitcheners , Foxyhound and me xx
