Good Morning Everyone,

Todays plan is a local shop for essentials ,and then maybe get some Fish & chips from the chippy later .
On the health front my body id acting in a normal way ,and weight wise I am putting it on.
Apart from watching the cycling on TV , a quiet day in.
Take Care,
Mick

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. What a beautiful patchwork GM! I haven’t done patchwork for years. I think the last piece was for a pram quilt over 40 years ago for our daughter. Today I will be organising packing etc., for my jaunt to Australia on Sunday. I have a parcel to collect from the Post Office and that’s it really. Yesterday was spent visiting a friend, making lemon ice cream, moving some money and making a Diane Henry chicken recipe for dinner. Have a good day everyone, especially the Corners!

Good morning all from dry and bright South Lanarkshire.

Pleased to hear that you are doing well Mick.

Good news Cornergran, I hope everything goes smoothly and MrC is comfortably settled in his own bed tonight.

Marydoll, I’m so sorry that you’re not able to relieve your pain. DS used to suffer from night terrors, it was dreadful for him to experience and for us to see and hear, I do sympathise.

Drookit in Drumnadrochit, could be a book Brook grin. Enjoy your trip today.

Sorry to hear about your back pain Harri, I do feel for you.

We’re not going to Edinburgh today. I only started to feel human again yesterday and DS understandably doesn’t want to risk a stomach bug in the family.

It will be a fairly quiet day today but I’m sure I’ll still manage to put off doing all the things that need done.

Thinking of our friends Baggs, Kalu and Urms.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning Mick and all. We seem to have moved from September into October on the Angus coast and it looks decidedly chilly out there. I do hope that some of 'Britain's' predicted heatwave sends a little up here - otherwise it's going to be a long winter!
So happy for you Cornergran getting DH home again. And he will so relish it! Don't worry - I know you'll make an excellent nurse, and Mr C's favourite one to boot 😉
Glad you're making such good progress now too Mick. How are the Wiltshire Farm foods meals going?
You're having a bit of a time of it grandmattie, and you too Marydoll, with side effects of medication. Such a shame.
Yesterday's tai chi was good - as was the visit to the fish shop afterwards 😉. I'm eating so much fish lately that the goldfish in the pond are beginning to look at me warily! They needn't worry though - very soon my taste buds will be craving something different for a while.
Today there is nothing planned, so a relaxing day before my day out in Edinburgh tomorrow.
Enjoy all your busy days everyone x

Good morning all from a quiet looking morning. Good to read encouraging news from Corner and Mick this morning and thinking of those waiting for some about their own health or that of family members.

Awaiting the arrival of the Bristol tribe this afternoon which will liven up this household!

Must get on and continue to sort out their bedrooms.

Will probably return on Monday when peace is restored here so best wishes to all till then.

Good morning everyone from a grey but dry day in Grundarfjordur, on the west coast. For once I have decided to have a day off from excursions, so will spend it at leisure on board. Just started a new book, Outlander, and am keen to get back to it.
Yesterday morning we explored the western fjords area, which was remote and deserted, and had stunning scenery. After lunch I did half a mile around the deck and then settled down with my book.
A delicious meal last night in the Supper Club, then boogied the night away to Abba songs; the young singer was excellent.
Keeping my fingers crossed I can post this, as yesterday's post and photos just would not load.

Taichinan Fri 04-Aug-23 08:31:21

gingster I think it's called the sturgeon moon. I saw it last Sunday evening - the last time there was a break in the clouds at bedtime! It's amazingly bright and orange, isn't it.

Taichinan Fri 04-Aug-23 08:35:47

Than you for the photos Bluesapphire. Enjoy your peaceful day today.

Gingster Fri 04-Aug-23 08:37:32

Thanks Taichinan.
Yes it’s wonderful.
I’ll look up Sturgeon moon for details.👍

Nannagarra Fri 04-Aug-23 08:50:39

Good morning from Sefton where it’s perfect weather for hoeing the garden.
Excellent news of Mr C. Recovery at home will be so much better.
We’ve just been asked to dog mind this weekend. I’ve struggled to upload an edited pic (this isn’t my first attempt to post today 😂).
Thinking of those with worries.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Oldies coffee morning so plenty of chat but nothing else planned, though there is always something to read. Delighted that MrCorner is to be released from incarceration and that Mick is getting back to his normal routine though sorry that Marydoll is so unwell. Thinking too of those on holiday or preparing to go away and hope plans work out.

Nannagarra Fri 04-Aug-23 08:57:26

Finally…DGdog

GrannyGravy13 Fri 04-Aug-23 09:02:00

Morning all

Good you are well in the road to recovery Mick

Wonderful news that your DH is coming home Cornergran I understand that you are a bit nervous, I will keep everything crossed that all goes well.

The first of our Aussie contingent arrives later today, they are off to watch their horse race at Goodwood, then driving straight here. Ten of are going out to dinner, DD is so excited as it’s her Godmother, and despite the distance they have a strong bond.
Tomorrow DS3 is hosting a BBQ for the family and the Aussie’s have just seen the weather forecast - torrential rain and winds ☔️💨🌫️ So I guess our planned walk in the beach will not happen 🤣

Thinking of our poorly friends, MaryDoll , and those with poorly family members Urmstongran , Kalu and Baggs

Have a good day folks if you can 🙋‍♀️🦩

aggie Fri 04-Aug-23 09:18:49

Good morning , it’s a lovely fresh , bright morning in Co Armagh , there’s a definite feel of autumn
We’ve been eating mini cucumbers for weeks , but no red tomatoes yet !
So sorry to read of Marydoll and her pain and night terrors !

luluaugust Fri 04-Aug-23 09:22:52

Good morning from a grey W Kent. DD and SIL are off back to Scotland today, having a houseful for two weeks I think it is all going to feel a bit strange, I am sure the piles of washing will keep me busy.
Pleased to hear MrC is on his way home, I think we used to say "this won't get the baby bathed".
Marydoll I hope you feel better as the day goes on.
Best wishes to all.

Sar53 Fri 04-Aug-23 09:40:36

Good morning from a cloudy Essex coast.
We both had our hair cut yesterday and friends round for the evening. The men escaped to the pub and us girlies had a good old chat.
DD2 and family are on their way to Stansted for their much awaited holiday to Kos. I expect the two girls are really excited.
I'm looking forward to lots of pictures.
DD1 is quite unwell and is seeing the doctor at 10. She has been through a lot lately and I think it has all caught up with her.
Coffee shortly with a neighbour then some admin to look at.
It's good to hear that MrC is going home, I hope all goes well for him and Corner.
I wish you all a pleasant Friday xx

Auntieflo Fri 04-Aug-23 09:42:53

Good morning Mick, Annie, and all. Good to hear that you are slowly getting back to normal Mick.
It's very grey here, so we may possibly get rain. Yesterday stayed dry and I even got a machine load of washing dry. Our DS2 was visiting and we all went out to lunch, and every time it clouded over, I kept my fingers crossed that the rain would stay away, and it did. The cake I made for tea, went home with them, so I must make another, as DD will be coming tomorrow.
Marydoll, so sorry to hear that you have had such a disturbed and painful night. Everything seems much worse in the long, dark hours. Sending {{{hugs}}} to you.
Great news about the return home for *MrC*. What a long round trip to hospital you have had Cornergran. Here's to good recovery.
Hoping your new sight test will help solve your headache problems GrandMattie, and another beautiful patchwork.
To all poorlies Urms, Kalu and Baggs , and any that I may have missed.

Blossoming Fri 04-Aug-23 09:58:30

Good morning everyone from cloudy Lancashire. Great that your health is improving Mick, enjoy your quieter day.

We took another two loads to the tip yesterday, today I must sort and tidy my sewing work bag. MrB has a heap of gaming gadgets to sort. I shall leave him to it grin

Hope the new drugs help GrandMattie, that’s certainly a very colourful quilt.

Another long day ahead Cornergran, it can take a while to get discharged. He really has made great progress.

Sorry to hear you’re having such a bad time Marydoll. That is dreadful about your RA appointment.

Hope the new exercises help Greyduster.

Your day out brings back some memories Brook. We spent a lot of time in that area when we were younger and fitter. Watching salmon leap the falls near Invermoriston was an unforgettable experience.

Hope that bug is gone Baubles and you can have a restful day.

Lovely photos BlueSapphire, enjoy your day of leisure.

Thinking of those dealing with worries and illness and hope today brings some comfort.

My tea is finished, pills taken, time to do my weekly blood pressure check. Actually I check it daily, but log it on my GP’s website every Friday.

Have a good day all 🌻

Thorntrees Fri 04-Aug-23 10:27:29

Good morning from Shropshire.
Just been for our daily walk and it’s quite blustery out but at least it’s not raining- yet.
Apple pies to bake this morning and some plums to stew. Our plum tree is heavy with fruit this year but they need some sun to ripen really.
Eldest Daughter might come for a cup of tea this afternoon so looking forward to that.
So glad to hear Mr Corner is coming home, best wishes for continuing recovery.
Hope everyone has a nice and stress free day.

Georgesgran Fri 04-Aug-23 10:44:41

A late Good Morning from a wet (again) Durham. Faffed about a bit after an email from Octopus, who want to hike my payments up to £245 from £170 a month!
Constant changing of plans to fit in with DD2 today: looks as if I’m booked to babysit DGS2 later.
Marydoll you seem to take one step forward and two back. I hope you feel better soon. Good news from The Corners after quite a short stay in hospital. Harri I too am sorry about the restaurant closure - always had a good reputation under both owners. Easy parking too.
Another weekend about to start - Best wishes to all. X

Taichinan Fri 04-Aug-23 11:02:20

Sounds like traditional BBQ weather grannygravy 😉

Litterpicker Fri 04-Aug-23 12:56:29

Good (not) morning (any longer) from a coolish but dry so far, West Sussex.

My back has straightened up again after a good night’s sleep - I got a little carried away (as usual) weeding at the allotment.

I will do some gentle gardening this afternoon. Aiming to restore order downstairs after a major furniture move around.

DD3 and youngest DGDs are in Scotland visiting their auntie, uncle & cousins. 8 year old is hoping her big cousin will show her how to play the guitar -she may be a little optimistic as to what can be accomplished in 3 days.

Glad to hear of progress towards normality for Mick and MrC.
Very sorry to hear of your bad night Marydoll. I have Chumbawamba’s “I get knocked down but I get up again” in my head but ache for your pain and setbacks.
Sar, sorry to hear your DD is unwell. Hope her doctor can help.

BlueSapphire, your Iceland photos are very atmospheric.
Lovely dog, Nanagarra

Time I got on - I have a book to read but only when my tasks are done 😏
