Good Morning Everyone,
I have woken up to a clear blue sky and its dry here in brackley this morning.
Today , I will spend sometime watching the men's elite road race on TV from start to finish as it goes between Edinburgh and Glasgow .
Otherwise I seem to be improving day by day as to health .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from Bristol. Yay, it’s dry today!
I had a quiet day yesterday, just the church coffee morning, but not well attended as the weather was vile.
I had fun doing some patchwork, but am nursing my eyes until my newest glasses come in.
Sad for England re. RFU game against Wales. They’re not doing very well ATM, are they?
Just church today. Prayers will be said to the Urms, baggs, Marydoll, kalu and families. Ditto and apologies for those I have missed.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Seems to be clearing here in South Yorkshire too, Mick after a wet night. It never stopped yesterday. Good to hear your health is improving.
I have the family coming for a roast dinner today, so will try and get all the prep done early, even though we don’t usually eat until mid afternoon. I must try and run off some water from the butt and spread it round the garden as it is overflowing again. Apart from that, nothing much to take up my time today.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from a bright, sunny Torbay. Such a joy to see at last!

It’s great to hear you sounding so much better, Mick. Your patchwork looks remarkably good despite your vision problems, grandMattie.

Whenever DH goes home, he always leaves me a pile of ironing to remember him by! Yesterday, it included four pairs of jeans and a linen jacket amongst other things. At least he has accepted that I’m not prepared to iron a crease into his jeans!

No contact yesterday from my DS who is staying with his father and DGS3 locally. Disappointing as I have little free time now but I believe he plans to visit again next week.

Church then final Dress Rehearsal later!

Every blessing especially to those needing our prayers. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and dry. Mick the cycle race passes my village today. I think the forecast is for showers. Ash I hope the dress rehearsal goes well.
Yesterday I ended up feeling really unwell with a cough so went to bed early. I woke early too and coughed a bit in the night. Nothing like I imagine Marydoll has to contend with.
Today I have to stay in for a delivery. I've ordered a dehumidifier to help with the condensation on the windows and with drying laundry. Apparently I will be sent a password to give to the courier. It's all very hush hush! 😂 Today's dinner will be roast chicken which is already cooked. I shall potter quietly in the house and garden. Have a good day all

RosesandLilac Sun 06-Aug-23 06:59:13

Good morning, sunny here too!
I enjoyed watercolour painting yesterday, nothing too taxing, I want to try a something abstract tutorial today I think, there’s lots to choose from on YouTube 😊
An early dog walk in the sunshine will be good too!
Have a lovely day everyone 🌹

ginny Sun 06-Aug-23 07:08:53

Good morning.
Outside the weather is looking promising so fingers crossed for a better day.
We have 8 for a roast dinner so must get going fairly soon.
Wishing all as good a day as possible.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 06-Aug-23 07:18:08

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Well, I’m 99% packed and I checked in on line last night! OH and I are going out for lunch and then at 3 pm he will drive me to Oxford to catch the airport bus. My flight isn’t until 9 pm but I have to get there three hours before. I will buy perfume in Duty Free and have a Wagamama’s dinner. Have a good day everyone. I should be able to post once I get to my sister’s on Tuesday!

Ashcombe Sun 06-Aug-23 07:22:50

Safe travels, Ladyleftfieldover, and happy landings! Sounds like a right royal send off! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Ladyleftfieldlover safe journey

brook2704 Sun 06-Aug-23 07:24:32

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cloudy but dry, we didn’t get any of the rain yesterday that was further south but I’m sure it’ll arrive here soon enough.
Hoping you get to see your DS and DGS soon Ash, good luck with the dress rehearsal later
DD1 and the DGSs arrived safely back in Cambridge yesterday, it’s really quiet here now and I’m missing them all already. I’ve got loads of washing to keep me busy today and there’s always lots to do in the garden.
I’ve never had to give the courier a password grandmabatty are you sure it’s a dehumidifier you’re getting? 🤣
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Grandmabatty Sun 06-Aug-23 07:25:43

Brook me neither. I'm filled with an obscure alarm about it

Susan56 Sun 06-Aug-23 07:30:46

Good morning from Shropshire. After yesterdays torrential rain the sun is shining this morning.

Today will be spent catching up with laundry and household jobs after a couple of busy days.I am waiting to hear how DGD got on at her first Beaver camp. She was so excited to go and we were excited for her but late last night when it was heavy rain and blowing a gale I was wishing she was at home!I am sure she will have had a great time.

I hope you feel better as the day goes on Grandmabatty and have a restful day.

Safe travels Llfl and hope the rehearsal goes well Ash.

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Foxygloves Sun 06-Aug-23 07:36:02

What a difference a day makes! ☀️ 😎
Good morning from sunny Foxyland -fresh, with a clear blue sky, just as we all like it!
Wishing LLFL a good flight - what excitement! - indeed safe travels to all out and about and with gentle thought to absent friends especially those in pain or distress.

Pittcity Sun 06-Aug-23 07:40:11

Good morning from sunny Colchester.
We had a lovely family day yesterday despite the constant heavy rain. My baby DGD was passed around so everyone got a cuddle.
DS and his cousins are being taken out to lunch by my Mum today as she doesn't often get to see them.
DH and I will go to Lidl this morning and I'll be glued to the netball later.

DS has often had to give codes to delivery people. Usually for age controlled things like engine oil and razor blades (he never goes to real shops) and expensive items. Also many takeaway food deliveries require them. They are just checking that you're the intended recipient.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning, it will be a nice bright day today and a good temperature, for me

Off out this afternoon, about an hours drive each way. Looking forward to it but I doubt it will shake the persistant cobwebs off my wing mirrors, they stick like glue

I slept well last night, same as the night before. All I did was put an extra thin blanket on my bed.

Pottering until I leave and perhaps a little bit of sewing too

Have a good day

Good morning from a bright, breezy sunny Cornwall. I've been moving furniture around since crack of sparrows. Now have to reposition artwork then I'm done. The patio door is open, lovely breeze wafting in, and a lady blackbird is digging in my pebble bed. Yesterday's amazing winds brought down my dead 12' echium - thank you winds!

Today I'll meet up with my daughter and son-in-law. No church as they've all gone to Creation Fest in Wadebridge.

Mizuna Sun 06-Aug-23 07:46:51

karmalady my son has a spider living behind his wing mirror. It's been there for ages. Obviously a speed fan!

Oopsadaisy1 Sun 06-Aug-23 07:47:11

Good morning from a sunny but windy Oxfordshire, let’s hope it lasts.
Grandmabatty the damp washing could be causing your cough, but have you had a Covid test?
LLFL safe travels , hope you have a lovely holiday.
I’m looking for a Charity shop that will accept books, not as easy as it sounds, they are too good for the tip, but not rare enough to sell. I will send out some emails to see if anyone wants them.
My iPhone won’t hook up to the wifi, which is a worry as my banking apps are on there and we have a rubbish mobile signal.
Anyway, 1st world problems.
Have a good day everyone, love to all who are unwell or stressed. Safe travels to others who are on the move.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 06-Aug-23 07:50:46

Good morning from a sunny South Downs, which is most welcome after yesterday.

DIL had plates and pins successfully removed from her ankle yesterday. She broke her ankle in Spain trying to use an electric scooter to visit some tropical gardens. She has been limited in her movement since as the metal rubs on her bone. She is hoping this is now ok as they are trekking to Machu Picchu in late October before going on to the Galapagos.

The dog had a quiet day yesterday and seems his normal elderly self today. He will no doubt be snoozing in the sun later, I must get out the garden seat cushions. Not that he is spoilt of course! I will also sit and top up the vit. D. In short supply this year.

Fish day today. Baked haddock with goats cheese and thyme.

Enjoy your hopefully sunny day one and all.

harrigran Sun 06-Aug-23 08:02:23

Good morning from a dry NE where we have a hint of brightness too.
My sister and BIL did visit, it is six weeks since his accident, we enjoyed our chatty afternoon.
I made myself a simple dinner of tempura prawns and sautéed potatoes and then watched a film on Netflix.
Family are now in London staying at an air bnb quite close to where they used to live. DS sent a photo of the premises, the flat was their first home they bought together and are now exchanging hands for very large sums of money. If they sold their big detached house here in the NE it still would not pay for the two bedroom flat.
SIL will visit today, I think he will be relieved to know I don't have any jobs lined up for him.
Have a good day.

Good morning everyone it’s dry here on the east coast of Fife with showers to come later on. I’m off to church this morning where I’ll meet lots of friends who have been good in visiting me.
I’m looking forward to breakfast of bacon, eggs tea and fresh orange I’m having corn on the cob for lunch.
Have a good day everyone or as best you can

Grandmabatty Sun 06-Aug-23 08:04:32

Oops I did wonder about covid but I don't have any tests left. I'll see if dd has any. I don't have damp washing at the moment. The dehumidifier plan is for winter really.

Gingster Sun 06-Aug-23 08:06:12

Good morning all and it’s still grey here in Suffolk but no rain. It didn’t stop all day yesterday and little pooch and I got soaked on our two short walks along the beach.

We travel ‘home’ today so will start clearing up and leave the cottage neat and tidy for when we return.

Llf you seem very relaxed and organised for your upcoming trip. Hope all goes well and have a lovely time.

Enjoy Sunday 🌸

Good morning all from cool and bright South Lanarkshire.

Another busy day at the charity shop yesterday then straight to DD’s to mind the children so their parents could have a rare evening out together.

Today will be church, then brunch with DH followed by a badly needed supermarket sweep.

Wishing everyone the best day possible. Safe travels to everyone on the move and sending hugs to those in need of comfort.
