Good morning everyone from an overcast Reykjavik and it looks like rain.
Am hoping to venture into the city today. Yesterday's tour wasn't very good as the guide was a man of few words. We saw three or four interesting looking places, but learnt very little about them.
Was back at the ship for a late lunch, and then spent the afternoon reading.
Dinner last night was in the ship's Nepalese restaurant, which was very good.
Last nights entertainment in the theatre was Emily Haig, a wonderful soprano.
Hopefully a pleasant Sunday is in store for us all.

Our choir performance yesterday was cancelled sadly but there is another, indoors, today.

We went to the pub for tea last night. We had a lovely time so will definitely go again. The new chap has done a great job.

I have dug out the vac and mop bucket , needs must as my lovely cleaning friend is still on holiday , mind you I had better have them tucked back in their slot before daughter spots them , she would do it for me , but she works full time and has her own cleaning to do

Good morning Mick and all from a damp Glasgow. Enjoy the cycling. It has caused much ill feeling here in Glasgow, the road closures have apparently caused many problems for people in the city driving to work.

Luluaugust, I was so sorry to read of your DIL's diagnosis. What a shock for you all. 💐
GMB, I hope your cough is nothing serious, it can be so debilitating. I get so embarrassed, when people look at me as if I have the plague. ☹ I hope it settles.

I am sitting with a hot water bottle on my shoulder, unexpectedly brought by DH it has kept me awake again.
MrMD has been falling over himself to make amends for Beergate ( I am taking advantage of it) and at last admitted that it was his fault. I wish I had recorded it for posterity! He probably will never admit he is wrong again. 😂

I don't have much planned, apart from going down to church between masses to help the young sacristan, becausethe chief sacristan is still in France. We think he may be lost, as per the song. He not responding to texts! 😉 Lost in France
I also need to respond to a few GN messages, I never stopped yesterday, partly as a result of Beergate.

I will take the opportunity to nab a few people, who need Disclosures updated. Nothing strenuous at all.
On the way home, I shall drive up to DD's to leave their anniversary card, which forgot to post.
They are on holiday in Inverary and plan to dine at the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar. I am green with envy. Harri's meal is my ideal meal.
We are having Chicken Maryland today, DH's favourite, accompanied by sauté potatoes!

Good morning Mick and all from a brightening northwest coast.
Really enjoyed the day coach trip yesterday after a rainy start. Thirsk in North Yorkshire is a lovely old town and although I don’t read the books and have only seen a couple of episodes of “All Creatures Great and Small”, the author and vet’s house and museum was fascinating in the centre of the town.
Always tired the next day after these trips as the bus goes round picking people up, it’s sometimes nearly two hours before we get on our way. As I don’t particularly enjoy driving though, it’s preferable. The new coach has tinted non see from the outside windows and the view is diminished.

Glad you are picking up Mick, I will go and look at the signage for my car park fine, thank you Auntieflo and special thoughts to luluaugust for her DIL and all with worries.

Good morning Mick and everyone from brightish but still overcast Carlisle. It will probably be sunshine and showers here today. Yesterday, it mostly rained, not heavily but it kept me inside, frustrated.
I finished my birthday book with a tale centred round magic and spells, which isn't my thing really but it was an exciting story that became unputdownable. It will still be going to the charity shop as I shan't read it again. Oops the charity shop in question is an Oxfam specialist book shop...do you not have one convenient to you? The drawback of ours is that a visit to donate can result in purchases too, plus, they sell chocolate!

It will be a quiet day of pottering here...at various little jobs that tend to get ignored. I have an exciting week of dates ahead, every one connected to servicing/checking over my ageing body! Nothing serious.

Have the best possible day everyone, in particular, MrCorner who I hope is progressing satisfactorily at home.

Morning everyone from north Kent where the sun is out and we can see blue skies! After grey clouds and rain for the past few days it seems very exciting to see the 🌞

My begonias have taken a battering in the high winds we had last night. Will go out later and see what can be saved; very disheartening- I grew them from small tubers into lush, beautiful plants. Unfortunately they were in big pots which were too heavy to move out of the wind. A howling gale during the night as the winds whipped along the coast. Never mind; at least we were on dry land and not on the sea !

Washing planned for today; still a stiff breeze so it should dry well as long as it stays on the line.

It’s fine out at the moment and a fairly decent day is in store. Looking forward to a lovely sunny warm day tomorrow.
Today we need to go to my uncle in Bridlington and take him a new microwave and mum has just messaged to ask us to also get him a new floor mop. He’ll be glad to see DH as he enjoys chatting about football. We will get fish and chips while there before coming home.

After yesterday, when bright spells of warm sun were replaced by torrential rain at seemingly ten minute intervals, this morning looks a lot calmer. Church this morning and then an empty filled with reading, I think. Hope the travellers have a successful day and that the sufferers have a better one.

Good morning from Durham. It is indeed dry and much brighter than of late. DD2 coming later with DGS2 - a change of scenery whilst her DH is at football. Need to top up on some favourite treats, so off to Tesco soon.

Good morning all. Better late than never. Have done my exercise video - it's a stretchy one, nothing too strenuous on a Sunday morning - washing on & DH has gone to help the local Lions club set up a BBQ for this afternoon, I hope the weather improves by the time we are all due to attend as it's extremely wet under foot although not actually raining. There are some HUGE puddles. Now to treat myself to a cooked breakfast.

It still feels chilly here and looks very September-ish, but there is a bit of sunshine and the blue skies and cloud are about 50-50, so an improvement.
I love those photos Bluesapphire, particularly the one of the boat - so beautiful with its smooth curves. The jury is out on the cathedral, though I'm sure it is magnificent!

I had a really lovely time in Edinburgh yesterday - what better place to be in Festival time. I'd forgotten how much I loved it and how I wished I had even a small bit of my youthful stamina left!
DD and Newman met me at Waverley and we took a gentle stroll up Mt Everest up to the Grassmarket where we had lunch before Dancing GD's show. I don't need to tell you it was absolutely brilliant do I 😉. Afterwards DD and NM were off to, I think, four other venues, all stand-up comedians, and DGD and her friend had obviously been told to 'stick with Nanny' - which they did like glue. I managed to peel them off after a while and we went our separate ways - teens and 80s tend to move at different paces don't they. By that time my stamina was completely done and I was glad to get back to the station and be able to sit on the train home. Today will be leisurely for me I suspect!
Now the first load of washing is ready to hang out, with a second to follow and then I shall sit in whatever shaft of sunlight I can find and read my book. There aren't so many advantages in old age, but leisurely days sans guilt I'll take.
Enjoy all your busy-ness with your families, and I wish solace to those to whom life is not easy at the moment. You know I know, and my thoughts are with you x

Sometime it's the simple things which please. Being able to hang the washing out today, - yippee - , after an endless succession of wet days, has made me smile. It's lovely here in south Devon today, just a bit breezy but with lovely sunshine.

Ekwanimitee our local Oxfam shop closed down and the other 2 witching 20 miles are in the middle of towns and as I have 6 carrier badges so far and still 2 bookshelves to do it will be too far to carry them all. I will ring our local Charity Shops
( with car parking) tomorrow hopefully they will take them, our Village Fete has been cancelled they usually take books.
Good news though I fixed my phone and MrOops has sorted the leaking tap! Bad news is that the sun has gone,
GMB I bought a pack of tests from Amazonjust before we went on holiday, just in case……
