It’s International Cat Day! (As if they needed a special day… 🙄)

So let’s see your cats!

And, just for fun, google ‘cat’ and touch the paw icon

Jayda is the mini-panda and Qi (cue) is the mini-tiger. They are both rescue girls, adopted from the same local organization but several years apart.

This is Simba ….. he’s 15 and gives me reason for still being here! He’s a red point Birman. 😻😻😻

Poor, lovely Minou is still in the back room, with his collar of shame on. After a major scrap with a huge farm cat. The big hole in his forehead (cut by vet under full aneasthesia) - is healing well so planning to take collar off on Sunday and allow him outside.

Planning to feed very little in morning, and have poached chicken and sachet mix to welcome him in the evenings to get him in and keep him in.

Wish him luck - he found us, and we love him so much.

I’ve always had cats, but now live in a no-pets retirement flat. I do miss them. At one point I had four, an aged tabby, a tortoiseshell, and twin gingers. My very first cat, when I was eight, was a ginger called Orlando, after the cat in Orlando the Marmalade Cat, a beautifully illustrated book by Kathleen Hale - some of you may know it. One of the twins was Orlando, too. My last cat was a little black and white one who lived to be 19. I didn’t get another one because I feared it could outlive me, and then what? It would think I’d abandoned it.

I think cats protection do a scheme whereby if you die, they will make sure the cat is looked after..

Billy is getting on a bit, so am I, but one of Lynne`s carers loves him to bits, and has promised to take him if he outlives me. Otherwise I`d be taking advantage of the Cats Protection system.

Spike & Lilith (she's the siamese ....and the crochet siamese is Louise!). Vivian on his own.....Spike and Viv are rescue brothers.....Lily tolerates them as she is the old matriarch ;-)

Happy International Cats Day to all the beautiful cats on here - and everywhere.

This is Paxo our rescue, now 20 years and 2 months, after 'helping' with our drive to the mountains. Wasn't long before she opted for an early night.

This is Toby. He came to us as a stray. Vet thinks he's quite old, perhaps 10-12 but it's difficult to tell.
