Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Up with the birds again this morning. Weather looks to promise another fine South Yorkshire day. I overdid it yesterday with gardening and then a walk and was tired and aching last night - and I seem to have been bitten in some odd places!! The garden and I usually fall out of love with each other round about August. It’s happening.
Poetry group at the library this afternoon, and hopefully pick up something I ordered from M&S but I haven’t had an email from them yet.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning and we shall be having a decent day, with sun, in s somerset

A good nights sleep and am healing with some local irritation, will be taking it easy today, same as yesterday

Nothing is planned, except to piece together a pattern from lots of A4 sheets. Marvellous these days, you tell the computer what size you want and it is printed, ready to stick together and then cut out.

Have a good day

Good morning from a clear Bristol.
I’m doing the washing as I’m running out of unmentionables. The weather is perfect for drying.
I was felled by an attack of labyrinthitis, the first in many many months. I spent the day lying down, asleep or being very quiet. Feeling a great deal better today.
My blood pressure is being measured at the GP’s today to eliminate postural vertigo. It absolutely isn’t, but …
All the best to everyone today. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

grandMattie Wed 09-Aug-23 06:07:15

karma, which website do you use for your patterns? Is it free?

karmalady Wed 09-Aug-23 06:13:12

GM pdf patterns, every indie pattern maker does pdfs now. They need to be opened in adobe acrobat, you unclick every size you don`t want and you can put more than one size on so that grading is easy.

There are free patterns, here is one

Hello from Sydney! It’s not morning but 3.30 pm. I’m sitting on my sister’s deck looking out onto the garden - photo attached. I’ve just finished reading The Snake by Sadie Jones for my book group. I tried posting a message yesterday but it disappeared. The flight out was good although BA food isn’t so good as it used to be. I am still quite jet lagged so will have a rest in a minute. Have a good day everyone.

cornergran Wed 09-Aug-23 06:37:14

Morning Mick, morning All. Clear sky over our corner of Somerset.

Things are settling here. Although Mr C is still weak he notices some progress and enjoys a very short walk outside. Lots of sleep and rest as anticipated. Our primary care provision is from a large (huge!) geographically spread group practice. The practice manager at our closest surgery is a marvel. She made contact yesterday, sorted a GP appointment for next week and will do her best to flatten bumps in the medical road. INR testing has begun in the surgery followed by a very prompt call from a pharmacist advising dosage. Phew. That feels better

Sorry to rush away, time to begin the mew morning routine for us both. I have been reading if much later in the day and wish you all well. .

grandMattie Wed 09-Aug-23 06:41:27

Thanks, karma, I’ll give them a try.
I’m so glad for you, corner. It is good to fell supported, not having to fight for everything!

RosesandLilac Wed 09-Aug-23 06:44:54

Good morning from a very foggy hillside in the Cotswolds, it very atmospheric!
Yesterday was lots of watercolour painting which I thoroughly enjoyed; I’m trying to do some everyday instead of just prevaricating. I certainly need the practice 😊
Today a dog walk, some gardening and more time playing with paints!
Take care everyone 🌹

BlueSapphire Wed 09-Aug-23 06:47:36

Good morning everyone from s very foggy Cork. My first visit to Ireland and looking forward to my day out.

A non-eventful day yesterday, reading, and just generally enjoying being at sea. Too breezy to sit on deck. Enjoyed a lovely Asian buffet dinner, followed by the crew show which as usual was excellent. What amazing talent some of the crew have; waiters, stewards etc, transformed into powerful singers and dancers.
Just enjoying my mug of tea in bed, but need to get a move on soon; my tour leaves at 8.30 and I need breakfast first. Forecast is good.
Wishing all a good Wednesday.

Mizuna Wed 09-Aug-23 06:49:11

Good morning from Cornwall where the sky is bright and blue. A sweet moment yesterday when a tiny baby wren, all fluff and with a Mohican hairstyle, hopped onto my patio and consumed spiders in the guttering, singing its heart out between mouthfuls. You couldn't put a price on a moment like that. Then a young blackbird appeared and threw soil all over the place, rummaging for grubs. Of the three new baby gulls on my roof two have fledged and the rather gormless remaining one is being guarded by its parent. Soon we will have some peace when all the gulls vanish to the coast. Today a trip to the allotment if I can get my knee in gear. grin

Grandmabatty Wed 09-Aug-23 06:50:41

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and cloudy. It's quite windy too. Susan enjoy your trip. Ladyleftfieldlover I saw your post yesterday. Your sister's garden looks lovely. Cornergran it's good to hear that you are being supported so well.
Yesterday was a tiring day. Dgs1 was being very argumentative and dgs2 was suffering from teething and tantrums. I was glad to hand them over.
Today I have an early haircut and that's all. I'll potter about at home. I plan on making a slow cooker chilli when I get back from the hairdresser. I'm still coughing but it is less than before. Have a good day all

Good morning from a sunny South Downs.

Yesterday was chilly I thought and felt quite like October, I even put the fire on to warm the room.

Every day at this time of year when out walking the dog I pick a few blackberries and put them into the freezer, by the end of the season I have sufficient to last the winter.

Now that the crowds have gone, we are planning to have a walk around Goodwood, and then have lunch in the estate restaurant. We used to often go to the Glorious Goodwood week racing perhaps in a corporate or with the family. It was mums birthday on 29 th July and we once or twice had a family celebration there, but now I prefer the peace that can be had once the crowds have gone.

Just below Goodwood is the Weald and downland where the repair shop is situated, and a prettier piece of countryside you’d be hard pushed to find. Next to that is West Dene collage - another lovely place to visit.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Ashcombe Wed 09-Aug-23 07:10:58

A late good morning for me from a bright Torbay.

Another good performance to a responsive audience last night. Our theatre is bedecked with flags and has tape on all the internal glass (external windows have the original stained glass) with signs which proclaim the auditorium to be the air raid shelter. Sirens and Hodges, the officious ARP warden, open the play.

My DS and DGS3 are visiting this morning on their way back to Staffs and we hope to go out for breakfast. They are down again next week to stay at his Dad’s.

Have a wonderful time in Sydney, Ladyleftfieldlover and enjoy your coach trip, Susan56. It’s good that your DH is receiving excellent medical care, cornergran and I’m glad the labyrinthitis has receded, grandMattie. Have a wonderful day in the Emerald Isle, BlueSapphire!

Happy hump day, everyone! 🦩🥰😎💐🦩

baubles Wed 09-Aug-23 07:12:39

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s dry and a little cloudy.

Grandmabatty although we love them dearly a full day of looking after little ones can be overwhelmingly exhausting, their parents are lucky to have you.

Beautiful garden LLF, have a wonderful trip.

Glad you’re feeling better now gM.

I’m working today but feel less than 100%, not even sure what if I’m at 70%. I’m meeting a visiting friend straight after for an early dinner so it’s going to be a long day, let’s hope I can get myself together.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Jaxjacky Wed 09-Aug-23 07:14:50

Morning Mick and all from high cloud in S Hants, the washing basket is poised to be emptied.
Just tracked my daughter’s plane taking off, first holiday abroad with the grandchildren.
I’m pleased you’re getting support without a battle corner reassuring.
Enjoy your trips out today monk Susan and BlueSapphire.
I’ll go out for a walk later and freezer dive for dinner.

Good morning all from a bright North Leicestershire.

Up early as DH has gp appointment and DD3 is dropping B,P and W here at 9 am!!

Have the best day possible everyone.

Jacs7 Wed 09-Aug-23 07:31:40

Good morning everyone from a sunny north Kent. Not sure about the temperature as I haven’t ventured outside yet.

Sore arm this morning from the typhoid injection I had in readiness for our cruise next year. Fortunately it was the only one we needed as all the other vaccinations are up to date.

Off to my exercise class this morning and then to the opticians to collect my prescription sunglasses ready for the two days of summer we are going to experience tomorrow and Friday. How’s that for timing!

Hope everyone enjoys their trips and excursions; glad that MrC is getting on so well and that GM is feeling better. I too shall be using a flight tracker Jaxjacky later to follow DS and family as they fly home from Canada.

Hope you all have a good day
.

ginny Wed 09-Aug-23 07:37:10

Good morning.
I shall be lunching with my friend who lives about 5 houses away. We have both been so busy since we were in Devon together at the beginning of July, this is the first meet up since then.
Otherwise I have some cupcakes to bake and washing to do.
Thoughts with all who are poorly or troubled. Wishing everyone a pleasant day.

Gala Wed 09-Aug-23 07:37:15

A dry bright day here in Sefton. I can see a fair amount if blue sky & sunshine is forecast for later. 🌝
An enjoyable lunch with our friends from Llandudno yesterday. We meet halfway in a lovely country pub/restaurant. The sun shone but it was too cold to sit outside... typical British summer's day.
Zoom exercise class first thing then off to our Pilates class in a nearby town. Food shopping this afternoon.
Good to hear the corners are getting the support they need without the, often, usual fight. Safe travels to those on the move & positive thoughts to those of you struggling with life.

Gingster Wed 09-Aug-23 07:39:09

Good morning all and it’s bright and sunny here in Essex.

It’s market day today and a friend is coming to park on our drive. We’ll walk up to town, have a browse and then a coffee in the quaint little tea shop.

Dh is fishing so I’ll be carless.

The friend I had lunch with yesterday has left her husband after 45 years of marriage. I think it’s only temporary and she’ll go back soon. 😳. Perhaps just needed a break.

Ash your play sounds great fun . Wish I lived closer, I’d be there. 🎭.
Hope you feel better Baubles
Lovely to hear from you in Sydney LLF. Enjoy your time there.
Grandmabatty have a peaceful day. You’ve done your bit. 😇.
Mizuna I know what you mean about ‘gormless baby seagulls’. They stand by their mothers making a pathetic squeaking sound waiting to be fed. Usually the mothers fly off and leave them to it.
greyduster yes I fall out of love with the garden as autumn approaches. Plants going ‘over’ and everything beginning to look tired. 🥀. .

Hoping you all have a ‘good’ day. 🌻

Grammaretto Wed 09-Aug-23 07:40:15

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Yesterday's sunshine made up for a lot of dreary days.
I continued to declutter with trips to the dump and charity shop.
As I returned from my walk last night, a strange couple walked down the drive and asked if they could park their campervan for a few days!
They then explained that their son had been a helper with us 7 years ago so there was a connection. Ofcourse I said they could stay. I could hardly say no. Edinburgh and all the surrounding area is full up, due to the festival.

Yarn group today and I'm meeting a friend for lunch.

I'm glad MrCorner is making progress. Corner
Lovely photo from Sydney LLFL enjoy your stay
Glad you are better gMattie
Always thinking of our absent friends.
