Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its 13°C.
DH is golfing this morning and I suspect I will have a utility room full of wet golfing gear!
I went down to church yesterday for the last time on a Sunday, helping the young sacristan, so receive some awful news.
One of my friends had a heart attack on the way to the hospital to say goodbye to his daughter, who had just died.
I knew the daughter, who had been put in an induced coma last weekend, really well. She had five children, three of whom I taught, it has knocked me for six. Her son became blind after a hit and run and her mum has severe RA and isn't very well at the moment and relies on my friend for everything..
Why do some people have to experience such tragedy in their lives?
We have two funerals today, we are averaging two or three a week just now. A visiting priest, whom I know well, is conducting the second funeral. It will be good to catch up.
Our chief sacristan arrived home last night from France and will resume his duties tomorrow, thank goodness! I can go back to a more gentle pace of life.
I'm still trying to sort this ballooned sleeve dress. They are so wide, you could make a couple of balloons from them, GM,
Another attempt today, the third!!
A gentle afternoon is on the cards. My chest is very congested and my ankles swollen, a warning sign to chill.
That was thoughtful of your daughter GMBatty, I hope your mum has a nice birthday and your visit isn't too stressful.
Have a pleasant day folks and best wishes to those in the sick bay or burdened with worries.
