...... just had a message from a well known organisation signed by someone with a very obviously female name. After her name, in red, and in brackets it said (she/her). What the heck!?

No-one can change sex and no-one is born in the wrong body.

yes thanks Dickens as you say blood pressure rises...

And another very talented artist cancelled 😡

Obviously. Strangely enough during a recent INSET on safeguarding, the person explaining protection of children against abuse was Jane Baker. I hadn’t realised the TW was Sarah Jane Baker.

A transgender activist who told a crowd to "punch a TERF in the f***ing face" has been found not guilty of "intentionally encouraging the commission of an offence".

Sarah Jane Baker simply wanted to get a mention on the front page of the Daily Mail... apparently. And is really sorry.

This same Sarah Jane Baker served a life sentence for attempted murder and whilst in prison cut off his own testicles and was also convicted of attempted murder of another inmate.

Just a bit of banter was it?

I just decided not to be annoyed about OC. If you look at the carefully stylised appearances, heavy lipstick, blusher, lashes, costumes it’s almost like watching a drag act, and drag performers are on everything now. At least we don’t see below the waist.

Doodledog Fri 01-Sept-23 12:48:32

Yes, OC does have more than its share of 'eccentric' contestants, and I agree that some of them can be annoying. I don't know how the programme makers can insist on a conformity of 'look' though. University Challenge also has fairly obvious transpeople as contestants, but they usually just get on and answer the questions, which is what they are there for. I suppose that part of the OC style is that the contestants are supposed to be 'odd', which will make it more difficult to rein in those who are being irritating.

eddiecat78 Fri 01-Sept-23 07:32:18

One if our favourite programmes is Only Connect. The last series was really spoilt by several contestants who were obviously determined to use it as a showcase for their sexual identity. I don't believe it furthered their course. Most viewers just found them intensely irritating

He’s a male, without the bxxxs to admit it, and he’s been let off?
Unbelievable.

... well, he cut them off, according to media reports. How, goodness only knows. According to family members, he has "anger issues".

It was deemed, by the Deputy Magistrate I guess, that his comments were not likely to incite violence.

He appears and sounds completely unhinged.

I suspect there are members of the TG community who feel they could do without Baker's 'advocacy'. Unless they are as deranged as he obviously is.

Surely the pendulum will swing back soon confused. We need men as well as women to speak out against this sort of rubbish, and most men are as disgusted by the TRA nonsense as most women, it seems. That does not mean, as has been said so often, that most people are not happy for genuine trans people, who have done the hard work of transitioning, to get on with their lives in peace like everyone else.

here's an interesting piece that uncovers some of the influences of this ideological takeover
thecritic.co.uk/by-stealth/
....'In deepening or inculcating trans ideology in civil servants, one Whitehall insider was exceptionally prolific. Male-born Jacqui Gavin’s civil service career began June 2009 and ended May 2019. Via a series of diversity and inclusion roles, Gavin advised on policy, gave talks on trans issues and delivered trans-training in major departments: Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), Financial Conduct Authority (closely associated with HM Treasury), Dept of International Trade and the Cabinet Office. An interview with Civil Service World reveals Gavin’s further reach: “I look forward to working closely with my colleagues in the Government Equalities Office and the Ministry of Justice … ” Gavin founded the DWP Transgender Network and held lead positions in the cross-department trans network a:gender. Terry Moran, then 2nd Permanent Secretary at DWP, spoke of Gavin’s influence: “There can be few people more suitable, passionate or committed to equality interests than Jacqui. She is a tireless supported [sic] and thought leader not afraid to challenge preconceptions or prejudice. A role model always.”....

Looking at the link you provide - this stood out...

Yet another CS source referred to a staff LGBT network in which, “outrage was expressed about women having any say at all in which facilities trans people use. Only trans people should be consulted”.

I have to stop reading for the moment as I have stuff to do - and I can feel my blood pressure rising.

But, thanks for posting that link. There is a lot to read and take in.

Doodledog Thu 31-Aug-23 17:34:49

It has become an industry, for sure.

Lucky girl, our family also has a loved one who was diagnosed ASD aged 8. They’re in their 20’s, gentle, kind, socially isolated and now describe themselves as nonbinary, changed their name to one only used by females. They believe allegations of threats to women at feminist conferences eg to ‘rape you to death with my lady dick’ to be propaganda aimed at further marginalising trans women. They became distressed and refused to believe this happened to close friends of the family. ‘No it’s propaganda, read it on line’

What can be done to stop sexual offences committed by men who self ID, being recorded as committed by women.

Rosie51 Thu 31-Aug-23 14:22:30

All crimes and entries on registers should be recorded by the sex at birth, not even the legal fiction of a GRC can change that, let alone self ID which can be as fluid as the individual wants...... woman while in court or prison, but man on release.

^A PAEDOPHILE caught with indecent images of children was prosecuted under a male name but now identifies as a woman, a court was told^.
Dominic Carter “wrestled” with police while under arrest to try to stop them from taking away a phone.
Sophie Carter, formerly Dominic, attends court in a pink T-shirt after being found in possession of 11 indecent images of children
Carter, of Lee-on-the-Solent, Hampshire, was found to be in possession of 11 indecent photos of children after two phones were seized
Two category A images, which are the most severe kind, and a further three category B images and six category C were discovered. But a sentencing hearing at Southampton Crown Court was told that despite being a man when arrested, Carter now goes by the name Sophie Carter.

I’m sorry, but a pink T shirt and shorts do not a woman make.

I was under the impression that the trans community want to disassociate themselves from the stereotypical roles of male and female - a stance I endorse to a large extent because it can stultify one's aims and ambitions.

So what's with the all-pink outfit (and nail varnish)? Does he think pink is what women are all about?

My transwoman friend who runs our interest group never dresses in that hackneyed fashion and has a unique and individual style that expresses personality as opposed to the Barbie-Doll look. Clothes that could, in fact, be worn by just about anyone... sarongs over shorts, open kaftans with trousers, and sometimes just jeans and t shirts - and no bloody pink lippy!

Sink the damned 'pink' - this is not what makes a woman a woman FGS!

Doodledog Thu 31-Aug-23 14:04:45

The scary things are that it will be under his new name that he will
Go on the sex offenders register, and that (I think) the case will be recorded as having been committed by a woman. If that is the case, it will look as though there is no need for women’s spaces as we are as likely as men to commit sex crimes. That, of course, is part of the mantra of the trans lobby (that there are female criminals too) but false recording plays right into their hands and should be resisted at all costs.

Rosie51 Thu 31-Aug-23 14:03:08

Goodness, slap my wrists, I missed the pink hairband, sets off the beard stubble beautifully!

Rosie51 Thu 31-Aug-23 14:01:20

I’m sorry, but a pink T shirt and shorts do not a woman make. Foxygloves did you miss the pink shoelaces and I'm sure I spy pink nail varnish too? He's really going the extra mile in his transition isn't he? 🙄🙄🙄

Smileless2012 Thu 31-Aug-23 13:42:23

It's ridiculous isn't it. He and everyone else should have to keep the name they had at the time of arrest throughout the prosecution process.

Why does every political party, every organisation, every charity have to have a view on this? In the main it is irrelevant to their aims and work.

They think it shows them as woke.

I feel for your DGS/D, Luckygirl. To add to their confusion and decisions about their sexuality are the expectations broadcast by the media about how you should behave if you’re trans.
No publicity about those who just get on with it.

Luckygirl3 Thu 31-Aug-23 13:19:36

You are so right maddyone - your son, his partner and others like him just get on with living their decent law-abiding lives.

I guess when people feel they are a beleaguered minority then they feel the need to stand up and shout for their rights. It is heartening that your son and others like him no longer feel the need to do that.

What frightens me about the gender debate is that there is one accepted line that must be adhered to in spite of flying in the face of science and common sense. Watching politicians and others spout what they know to be nonsense because they are too frightened to do otherwise is seriously disturbing.
