Still dark here in Cornwall Mick, but sun is promised later. Watching the women's football final this morning then to my arty daughter-in-law's for a roast dinner, after which we're going to see the Barbie film, leaving my 13-year-old grandson at home, I suspect! I don't think the film is my cup of tea but I'll give it a go, as tickets are as cheap as chips on a Sunday evening. My church meets on the beach today - they alternate with the park on summer Sundays - but I don't join in with that while my knee is so sore, just can't get comfortable on the sand.

Yesterday did my Lego shopping and got a bargain in Wilko then found two rusty hanging planters in a corner at the rear of a warehouse charity shop. With some tlc they'll be perfect for my patio.

Good morning Mick and all who follow from the Black country bit to early to see what the weather is doing yet.
DH has a fishing contest so making the most of early start have got the bedding in the wash.
Haven't decided my plans for the day yet will see how I feel after I've had some breakfast.
Roast beef for dinner.
Will catch up with everybody's happenings later enjoy your day whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning from Bristol. Pale sunshine, no rain today.
Feeling more cheerful today.
My cakes/biscuits went down well yesterday although numbers are low ATM; holidays, etc., methinks. The “leftovers” will be popular today after the service. I was asked to help with the Harvest lunch (for 60ish) on 1 October. I’m flattered!
I’ve got to get the toys out in the hall for the smalls; their parent/s have the service streamed.
Other than that, today is empty.
Forgive me, Ash for not commenting on your wonderful successes in the theatre. Obviously, the choice of play was important, but your cast, etc., must be very pleased.
May today bring joy to all (especially if the Lionesses win!) and peace to the troubled. Prayers for Urms, kalu, baggs, Marydoll, and all in need. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Afternoon all. I’ve had a quiet day so far sitting in the sunshine and reading. I’m taking my sister and brother in law out for dinner later. It is my last day tomorrow and then back to the motherland.

Good morning all from not sure of the weather South Downs.

Did enjoy my sons 50th birthday - sat in the garden all afternoon, listening and joining in the chat with everyone. It is so good to catch up at these times and see how everyone is doing with their lives, hearing about holidays had and planned and work etc.

Today is a quiet day. DH will watch the World Cup final, I shall pop in and out from the garden to see how things are progressing. Do a bit of housework and relax.

Today is veggie - stuffed peppers.

Peace and harmony to everyone.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is out in South Yorkshire. Yesterday was not a very productive day but I did get some light gardening done and cleared out a lot of paperwork from the drawer of doom. I also walked down to the supermarket for a couple of things, including three cooking apples. When I got home and looked at my receipt I noticed that their self service checkout had grossly overcharged me for them so I had to get in the car and go back down to sort it out. I was refunded £1.46! This afternoon I am going to watch GS play football for his new team. Hope the weather holds.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from s somerset, nice weather today

Yesterday I went to a fledgling memorial wood, to see our 8 year old oak tree. So tall and straight, much better than I imagined it would be. I haven`t been since deer chewed the young trunk. I was too worried about destruction but gosh I was so wonderfully surprised. The whole area is a natural wildlife haven, there are two benches now. It has calm ambience and is a lovely place for me to go, to sit and absorb the energy of trees

A quiet day today but I shall find plenty to occupy me

Have a good day

I awoke in a beautiful Devon hamlet this morning.

We are staying with our old friends from Shropshire who moved here 5 years ago.

We walked on Dartmoor yesterday up to a beautiful tor and met some very tame foals, the Dartmoor ponies look very well fed, the tourists supplement their diets!

Last night we reminisced over lovely food and too much wine, we had young children when we first met as neighbours in a Shropshire hamlet, we now all have young grandchildren!

Later today we head off to Plymouth to board the Pont Aven for the start of our Spanish road trip.

Good morning from Severnside. A lot of cloud but I can see some blue so all is well.

I renewed my car insurance yesterday and chose to ring them instead of doing it online. What with my ears and the accent of the lady…oh dear me! The poor woman deserved a bonus for yesterday’s shift.

I will do some more crafting today and maybe do a spot of weeding.

Have a good day all and enjoy your roasts 🌺

Good morning from a tranquil morning in Torbay.

Don’t worry, grandMattie; I know you’ve been preoccupied. Our final day was a fitting rounding off for a successful run. Our biggest house since pre-pandemic with 191 at the last performance! Our capacity is 220. That should put a smile on the Treasurer's face!

It sounds like people have had interesting days out or with family. I have a friend from my teaching days staying very nearby. She watched the play last night but left while we were clearing props and costumes so haven’t seen her yet. I think she felt she’d be intruding on the luvvies’ final bar session! She’s coming for breakfast so it will be good to catch up.

Enjoy a blessed Sunday, everyone! 🦩🥰✝️💐🦩

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 14° and cloudy in parts. I'm glad you are feeling better GrandMattie and I marvel anew at how busy you are. Sago have a lovely time. I look forward to hearing about your trip. Greyduster I love your description of the 'drawer of doom ' I think we all have one of those.
Yesterday was ok. The garden man duly turned up when he said he would, gave me a reasonable price and will do the work in early September. Shopping, washing, cleaning and ironing all done. I visited mum who remains much the same. The ward was again very noisy last night, including my contribution as I was singing along with another patient!
Today will be a quiet day. I might head to the garden centre later for a few things. Other than that, nothing is planned. Gammon for dinner. Have a good day all.

Jacs7 Sun 20-Aug-23 07:25:57

Morning everyone from north Kent. I think it’s a nice day outside, but not sure.

Still languishing in bed with covid; thought it best to confine myself to one room hoping that DH remains clear. Will watch the football this morning.

Sago enjoy your road trip.

Hope you all have a good day.

RosesandLilac Sun 20-Aug-23 07:38:12

Good morning everyone, it’s damp and grey skied here on the edge of the Cotswolds, I do hope it brightens up.
Yesterday DH took DDog on a long walk so I pottered around doing bits and bobs.
Today nothing planned, gardening and knitting I think. I lead a very quiet life 😊

harrigran Sun 20-Aug-23 07:41:52

Good morning from Yorkshire, my second day on holiday.
Yesterday we had a walk around the village but it was very windy. We had lunch in a hotel and then went for another walk. We returned to the cottage in the hope of sitting in the garden, we did but not for long.
Today we are having lunch at the Boar's Head in Ripley, no football being watched on this holiday.
Have a good day.

Pittcity Sun 20-Aug-23 07:51:20

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Another hot humid day forecast. We spent yesterday in our neighbouring park watching an English Civil War reenactment. I needed a cool shower when we got in. They are doing it again today. The cannons rattle our windows!
We are watching the football this morning and might pop over to DD2s for baby cuddles this afternoon.
Love to all 🦩 x

brook2704 Sun 20-Aug-23 07:52:22

Good morning everyone from Lewis where it’s a mix of blue and grey clouds to start the day
The young oak tree sounds wonderful karma, how lovely that you can watch it grow straight and strong.
Yesterday we had a really lovely coastal walk on the west of the Island, definitely blew away the cobwebs. DH was really pleased with his new knee, no trouble walking up and down and only a slight ache afterwards so much better than before. I woke up in the night so got up to see the most beautiful black starry sky, it looked so different with no light pollution. This morning we’re having a leisurely breakfast and staying in to watch the football then we’ll be off out later somewhere
Congrats on such a successful production at the theatre Ash, you must have all worked very hard, well done to everyone 👏
Enjoy your road trip Sago, sounds really good
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning everyone it’s the start of a beautiful day here on the east coast of Fife.

Yesterday the tiler came and repaired my roof it had lots of slipped tiles and a wee hole in the front of the house which needed an application of cement . The chimney also needed attended too but it wasn’t too bad for a house well over 100 yrs.

I’m off to church today my friend is kind enough to take me wheelchair and all. She’s a star that one.

My hive is playing up at the moment I must get someone to look at it.

Have a good day all or at least as best you can.flowers

baubles Sun 20-Aug-23 08:03:37

Good morning all, it’s fairly bright out there but definitely cool.

Congratulations on a successful run Ash. None of the amateur groups I know of have ever done more than one week. You must all be tired.

Today I have a few things to return to a couple of shops. I needed new swimwear having now given up on bikinis for the first time ever so ordered several pieces to try. I’ve end up with some mix and match tankinis for my upcoming holiday.

There’s ironing to be done as well as a few bits and bobs from the supermarket. First of all though I’ll go to Mass then meet DH for our usual brunch if he’s up to it.

Wishing everyone the best day possible and sending a hug to our troubled Gransnetters.

Grandmachrisy47 Sun 20-Aug-23 08:06:06

Good morning from a dry, bright Co Durham.
A local hotel have a three day festival this weekend and the noise was tremendous, tonight’s the last night and it usually ends with fireworks.
DD1, son in law and dgd, jet off to the sun today, leaving us the two grand dogs for ten days. I hope the fireworks don’t upset them.
I can’t wait for the schools to start back, then I might get some structure back into my life. Three days of having dgd and grand dogs dropped off for breakfast and school has been greatly missed this last four weeks.
Happy travel to those on the move. Thoughts as ever with those having difficult times.
Good luck to the Lionesses ⚽️

EkwaNimitee Sun 20-Aug-23 08:08:55

Good morning Mick and everyone from cloudy Carlisle where it is likely to shower before long.
I did get out after all yesterday morning and walked to the convenience store for a paper. It was closer than I'd thought so I'll visit that one again, better than getting the car out.
In the afternoon I mowed the front lawn and had a deadheading session, things are going over more quickly now. I also removed one of the shrubs the developer had put in the front, one of a row of rather dreary looking Spiraeas. I just removed the one to see how easy or not that would be. Not a struggle so the rest will go and I'll find something better to go behind my roses. As for the latter, I bought 6, theoretically matched for eventual height. Of course, that hasn't happened! 3 are very vigorous, but really beautiful though.
Today, nothing much, it's my day of rest,...finish the papers, train my brain and pootle about on the computer.

Congratulations on your successful run Ash, you will be glad of a rest?

Have the best possible day, all.

ginny Sun 20-Aug-23 08:15:11

Good morning from an overcast N. Bucks. Although the weather has been warm it is not bright and cheerful,

A quiet day for us. DH will it the grass and I’ll potter in the garden for a while. Then I have two birthday cards to make, watercolour I think. Easy dinner of steak and roast veggies.

Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.

NannyJan53 Sun 20-Aug-23 08:22:40

Good morning from a bright and sunny Black Country.

Yesterday was spent doing housework, and tidying and weeding the garden. Somehow these jobs really tire me out now. Hard to imagine this was all fitted in between going to work! Energy levels have certainly dropped.

Gym this morning, then off to DD's this afternoon for a family get together BBQ as DGD2 is 15 today. So this September is her GCSE's year! How the years fly, I remember the day of her birth vividly, as DD was having a planned C-Section. I decided to that morning to book the afternoon off work, and drove over to the town where the Hospital was. No sooner had I parked the car I had the call to say they had a girl. I dashed to Sainsburys to buy a couple of outfits, and I was there to see her within an hour of her birth.

Wishing you all the best day possible

Foxygloves Sun 20-Aug-23 08:29:35

Good morning all from Foxyland where it is forecast to be warm, but is still overcast and pleasantly cool.
Lovely day yesterday at a bbq at SIL’s parents with D, SIL and the two little boys. The older one, O (4) has been very resistant to hugs etc up to now (“ no duddles”) so we usually High Five but I was a very happy granny to get a hug and a kiss from him! His little bro R who is 2 in September has no problems in that area. Although not really undersized he is a very petite little boy, a little munchkin but quite fearless. It was so sweet watching them playing together. 😍😍
So, football this morning, sorting myself out this afternoon, (laundry etc) and maybe some knitting. I am catching up on Series 2 of “Sanditon” in preparation for series 3. Jane Austen, it ain’t, but entertaining and easy watching.
With kind thoughts to all for a pleasant day.

Oopsadaisy1 Sun 20-Aug-23 08:30:44

Good morning from a dull Oxfordshire, not much happening today, blitzed the house yesterday, beds changed and ironing all done, so I can just sit and enjoy the peace, no dog today either.
Hope everyone has a good day, virtual hugs for those who are ill or stressed.
