Good Morning Everyone,
Dry but cloudy here at the moment in brackley this morning.
Today , after m,y midday delivery from Wiltshire , will do my usual routine and get the bus into Bicester , I`ve yet to have a bacon or sausage sarnie since the surgery and might teat myself to one instead of the usual sticky cake .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from Cornwall where it's damp and dark but apparently set to be sunny later. Yesterday was much too hot for me, I should live in Norway or similar. grin Fortunately my granddaughter wanted to stay in and play. Today will be cooler, so a trip to my allotment with food for the day, to continue sorting out the plot after the fallen tree. Enjoy your snack Mick.

Good Morning from a dark Torbay so I’m not sure what the weather is like!

Yesterday evening, I enjoyed a meal at Prezzo with a guy from Toads, whom I met last year when we staged ‘Allo, ‘Allo. We were joined for part of the evening by his husband, who had had a stressful day. Both are domiciliary carers, often working longer than their contracted hours.

A cut and colour is booked for this afternoon in readiness for my trip over to France next week.

I hope today is a good one for everyone. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Morning all from a still slightly dark West Oxfordshire. I will stay in bed until 8 am and try to get back to my normal waking and sleeping habits. I have nothing planned today apart from paying the balance of our trip to France at the end of September: I bought an Australian cookery book at the airport so I am tempted to make a prawn curry for dinner tonight. Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from an overcast Bristol. Cool nights and warm days suit me.
I was pottering yesterday when the Salvation Army telephoned to ask if they could collect the furniture I offered them in 20 minutes instead of today . Yes! The chap then turned his nose up at half the stuff (with the usual insincere”sorry about that”), leaving me with a load I still don’t want. The local hospice is coming but changed from this morning to next week.. honestly, I don’t know if I can cope with more negative outcomes to things.
The lovely plumber came round with catalogues for shower trays, screens, taps, loos…. The choice is endless, the prices from high to incredible. I’m going to ask if he can get something from B&Q! I just want something functional.
I’ll be able to go to my tai chi class today as I don’t have a furniture collection.
I hope today is kind to all. Carpe diem. 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Morning all from S E Essex

We had to cut short our time away as on returning to our hotel after the 2nd full day in the theme park The Imp had what looked like Chicken Pox on his back. We woke up yesterday and the poor little man was covered from head to toe. Early breakfast in our room and we headed home.

I forgot how much I enjoy rollercoasters, it was great fun going on with the 8yr GS, and of course The Imp was fearless and went on everything he was tall enough for!!!

A quiet day for me today, sending (((hugs))) to all our morning friends in need.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Good morning from s somerset, alexa says showers, met office says sun

I disturbed a great big yellow frog in my garden and was able to catch him and moved him to the lush moist ground under ground cover. No idea why he chose my garden, I have no pond but I was happy to see him

I cleared two small areas yesterday and have sown green manure, maybe just in time this year. I now have space for a few raspberry canes in november. I finished by ten, worked hard. It was enough as the day got hotter and hotter

Have a good day

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from an overcast South Yorkshire. Not sure what the weather is doing today. I have an appointment to get my hair cut this afternoon. It has grown like weeds again! Then I am out for an early dinner at a new Thai restaurant with DD and the menfolk. Hopefully it will be a celebratory dinner as today is O level results day for GS. I have everything crossed as will a lot of other parents and grandparents across the country I imagine!
Have the best day you can folks.

kittylester Thu 24-Aug-23 06:59:37

Good morning all from North Leicestershire.

Results day for DGS3 too, GD.

Our cleaners are due at 9, I have a pedicure at lunchtime and Sainsbury's delivery at teatime.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and damp. Grannygravy poor wee mite. It's such an unpleasant childhood illness, isn't it? GrandMattie it'll resolve itself in time I'm sure. However I wonder if you are like me and want things sorted now.
Yesterday I seemed to be out in the car an awful lot. I drove to the doctor's and spoke about my prescription. I could pick it up in the afternoon to hand to the pharmacy. So that is indeed what I did. I wasn't in a hurry for it so more driving today to pick the actual medication up. Because of the admittedly slight hassle, I finally took the plunge and have a form to fill in for a Polmont doctor. I'll get that done today and handed in. My plans to contact a lawyer were thwarted as the firm I was recommended are merging and they aren't taking new clients. So I'll contact another firm today. A warning light came on in the car which indicated the tyres needed blown up. That was accomplished much more easily now I have an air compressor. Then I visited mum who wasn't really up for talking so I stayed for twenty minutes then home.
Today I'll pick up my prescription, phone a lawyer and hand in the form to the new doctor's. Then I'll see if I can track down someone to remove stuff from the garden that needs to go. I have been very lackadaisical about some things and ignoring them. Time to change! Meatballs and spaghetti in a tomato sauce for dinner. Have a good day all

RosesandLilac Thu 24-Aug-23 07:10:26

Good morning from a cloudy corner of the Cotswolds.
Yesterday was peaceful and relaxing, I sat outside in the shade and crocheted while listening to podcasts, retreating indoors when it got rather warm.
DH and DDog had a good walk but DH said it was very warm and not as interesting as hoped. He’d taken plenty of water and food.
Today a friend is coming this afternoon, I need to have a tidy up and I will take DDog for a walk early.
Have a lovely day everyone 🌹

Sago Thu 24-Aug-23 07:14:25

Good morning from Avila 35 today😬.

Yesterday we explored the City in the morning, we spent a good hour in the Cathedral and walked around the walls.
We ate the local dish “Chuleton” at a fabulous restaurant, they had a lovely courtyard with a water misting system so it was very cool.

Today is more walking this morning for as long as the heat will allow then books by the pool.

I got the photo opportunity of a lifetime last night, I had to share.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 24-Aug-23 07:16:36

Good morning from the wet (I think) South Downs. A very hot night which had the dog panting, so I opened all windows and threw back the curtains.

Like others I have an appointment with my hairdresser this morning. Later today I shall pack for our week away.

Veggie day today - aubergine ragu. Followed by pears in chocolate sauce.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 24-Aug-23 07:17:43

Where are my manners!

Have a good day all🙂

Mizuna Thu 24-Aug-23 07:31:45

Amazing photo Sago, so iconic.

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. Rain in the forecast and it could reach 26° here....yuk.
I need to walk to get a few bits from Aldi and have ironing to do.
DH has a hospital appointment this afternoon to try to get nearer to the cause of his aches and pains.
Love to all 🦩 x

We had a lovely day yesterday with all three grandchildren.First we went to a maize maze followed by ice cream and then after lunch at DD2’s we walked to their local park.H fell asleep on the way home and slept for an hour.I haven’t dared to ask DD if he went to bed ok last night.

Today is drs in half an hour then supermarket shop.We will call in at the plumbing company to accept their quote and arrange a date for the work to be done.

Good luck to all the grandchildren awaiting GCSE results today.

Good morning from an overcast start to the day here on the east coast of Fife. It was a wonderful day yesterday when my son managed to retrieve my email account and I received an email from my friends Maysayo and Ken who were worried they hadn’t heard from me in a while. Sadly though I am going to my neighbours funeral who died recently, cancer can be devastating. I’m fortunate though, my small cell carcinoma isn’t the dangerous kind and my removal of mine on my leg is healing very well. I see the consultant on the 31st of this month he’ll be so pleased, I did tell him I was a quick healer.

Have a good day everyone and keep safe

Jaxjacky Thu 24-Aug-23 07:44:34

Morning from a damp S Hants, and I think more rain is imminent, yesterday was glorious.
I went to the library, village shops, where I was cross at a car with no badge in a disabled space, but couldn’t establish the driver, some dead heading then indoors where it was cool.
What a shot Sago!
Poor Imp GG13 hope it’s not too itchy as it heals.
Have the best day you can 🦩🦩

Beechnut Thu 24-Aug-23 07:44:35

Good morning everyone from a cloudy Severnside.

I had two friends visit yesterday, one of them stayed and we had a good chat outside in the sunshine.

Today I’ll do my weekly shop and some sewing. I’ve got to find some fabric and cut something out this morning.

Have a good day all 🌺

Grammaretto Thu 24-Aug-23 07:44:38

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. 12° now but due to climb to 17° later. My French friend, who's staying here, showed me 42° home in Toulouse.
I prefer this though low 20s is my favourite.
We were told that the sale of DMiL house has fallen through. too good to be true when it sold to the first viewer in May It will go back on the market this weekend.
The doctor is going to phone me this morning so how can I go to yoga?

What a nuisance gMattie. I have found that response from charities too.

A hair appointment sounds like a good idea but my hairdresser is on a road trip.

Have a good day everyone.

Taichinan Thu 24-Aug-23 07:48:51

Good morning Mick and all. A grey mizzly start on the Angus coast but it's brightening as I write.

Liberty Thu 24-Aug-23 07:51:44

Good morning from a cooler than yesterday Suffolk. I have my stretch class in just under 2 hours which is the first since a couple of weeks ago as the teacher didn’t have one last week because of A level results for her daughter. My keep fit classes have ceased for August so I’m feeling somewhat stiff at present.

I’ve volunteered to write begging letters for donations for restoration/ conservation much needed work on our church’s medieval rood screen so I’m meeting with a fellow parishioner this afternoon to compile a list of possible sponsors both locally and further afield. There was an auction recently of a beautiful quilt made by this same lady and art by local artists raised quite a lot of money recently but the cost of the work is enormous. The report for the necessary work to be done cost a substantial amount initially.

Hoping that all with worries and unhappiness in their lives find some solace today.

NannyJan53 Thu 24-Aug-23 07:54:41

Good morning from a hotel in a Birmingham where we will go down to breakfast shortly.

A visit to the Rep last night to see Noises Off. Liza Goddard and Matthew Kelly were part of the cast. It was vey fast moving and I probably missed some of the jokes with my poor Hearing, but it was very enjoyable. A meal of fish and chips beforehand!

Mooch around the shops before the train home.

Have a good day everyone.
