What are the rules for gender reveal?

I think that for me, the rule would be that I am unable to attend due to a previous engagement.

I saw a little video clip of a gender reveal the other day. They had a big balloon, which presumably had pink or blue confetti in it. Big sister had been given a sharp pair of scissors to pop the balloon, but instead, she smartly cut the string and the assembled party gazed open-mouthed as it floated away!

I find that gender reveals are nothing more than an attention grab. Personally, I haven’t waisted any time attending one despite several invites.

I've never been to one but if there's going to be a baby shower later, I wouldn't take a gift.

Grandsons girlfriend is have in a gender reveal party. I expect their will be a baby shower later but do you take gift to a reveal?
