Good Morning Everyone,
Its cloudy here in brackley at the moment still a bit twilight.
Today , plan wise go into Bicester ,return and do Fish & Chips in the air fryer prior to watching cycling on TV .
My condition after surgery seems to be improving each day .
Take Care,
Mick

Yes, they do, karma and the residents I have spoken to think that it is only right for the management to pay. Sadly, it means that various other jobs are going to be postponed further…😢

Special thoughts today with grannysomerset, Dusty and Taichinan 💐

karmalady Fri 01-Sept-23 12:34:34

I just have to come back re GM and management company. I do hope that the company have a good sinking fund in place, to pay for the repairs. If not then the cost will be divided amongst the residents. You need to ask. Also the company will need to get three quotes and that will take time

GrannySomerset and Dusty 💐💐
And all with worries and sorrows 💐🕯

Taichinan Fri 01-Sept-23 12:03:07

grannysomerset flowers. This is my time of sad memory too - DH was killed 29 years ago tomorrow. He's been very close in the past couple of weeks. Do whatever it takes to get through the day - sending you a hug.

Dusty loving thoughts to you too flowers

Good morning all from a grey skies Glasgow. The poor summer we had seems to have gone in a flash.

Hopefully today stays dry and I can have a therapeutic day pottering in the garden.

Dusty 💐

Much love to all, hoping a good/better day is ahead to a very special bunch of Gnetters.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Good morning Mick and all from cloudy Lancashire, where it is currently 15°C. Glad you’re improving Mick.

I love autumn and am looking forward to donning my woollies and enjoying some walks. My stomach problems are settled for the moment, my appetite is poor but MrB makes sure that I eat. Nourishing soups are perfect at this time of year, today we will visit the farm shop for some fresh organic veg. Later I am hoping to spend some time looking at my stash of jewellery findings and planning some projects. I’m still wary of too much bending and lifting.

Glad your journey went well Ash, you sound so happy to be with your DH.

I’m another who hadn’t realised your daughter is getting married Sago, I thought you were on an extended holiday. Hope all goes well.

I’m glad MrMDoll isn’t deaf Marydoll, imagine how difficult that would be grin.

Hope MrC is recovering from the dental treatment Cornergran. I had to have some very complicated bridgework some years ago and the hours in the chair while it was adjusted and fitted wore me out. Thankfully it’s not given any trouble since.

What an exciting day Grandmabatty, fame and fortune may beckon!

How infuriating GrandMattie, hope the asbestos gets sorted quickly.

Happy Birthday to Imogen Jax

As always thinking of all dealing with troubles.

Have a good day all whatever you’re doing🌻

Urmstongran Fri 01-Sept-23 09:50:42

Oh dusty my heart goes out to you. 💐

Taichinan Fri 01-Sept-23 09:49:48

Good morning Mick and all. Although the sun is shining and there's lots of blue sky it's a very chilly-feeling start to the day on the Angus coast. The first day of September is feeling rather more like the last!
It's my birthday month too - but how young the rest of you birthday girls are 😉.
I too hadn't realised the purpose of your wonderful holiday sago. Have the most perfect day tomorrow in that idyllic setting.
Grandmabatty what an exciting day! Do let us know when you are to be 'aired'.
No wonder you had a bad night's sleep grandmattie. I suspect the 'management' knew all along about this - how could they not? - hence all the prevarication and hindrance. Do you have any redress?
Urms Keats's Ode to Autumn is my favourite poem - the most beautiful 'word painting' ever written. Thank you for that.
Well, yesterday's tai chi class was very lack- lustre. I really must do better! My excuse was that I was very tired - without realising how tired I was, if you know what I mean. But I dozed most of the afternoon and then slept all night. Busy days and sleepless nights take their toll as you get older!
It was interesting to read how many of you were experiencing trouble sleeping earlier this week. For years I have been putting disturbed sleep down to the effect of the power of the full moon - and sure enough, the sleep tales became moon tales! When you think of the effect of the moon on the tides, then it's not surprising it has an effect on us too.
Back to my relaxing 'pottery' days again now, doing this and that and not a lot and making the most of these lovely autumn days. The fish in the pond will be well and truly fed and counted, and the plum harvest is imminent.
Have a lovely day everyone 🍂🍁

Good morning from a sunny Algarve after a very disturbed night. DH missed a phone call from our doctor during the evening surgery and rushed down there to speak to him instead. Of course he then had to then wait nearly an hour to see him which would have given me plenty of time to change and go with him. So frustrating.

They spoke for a long time and it sounds as if our doctor covered all possibilities with him as DH returned very depressed. Obviously nothing that was discussed on Monday had sunk in.
I’ve got to have my dressings changed this afternoon so I might have a chance to see him if he’s working then. If not, it probably means waiting another ten days until the appointment we’d previously made comes round.

GrannySomerset Fri 01-Sept-23 09:30:34

Feeling very low this morning - 1 September an important date in my memory so looking backwards rather more than is good for me. Deliberating whether to go to oldies coffee morning but think I should try or I will just wallow. Pale autumn sunshine is adding to my sentimentality so need to take myself in hand.

Meanwhile hope the day goes well for everyone.

Good morning Mick and everyone, a pinch and a punch, its dull but dry here after a very wet day yesterday, but we went to chemist, Charity shop and P.Office to return some stuff to Amazon, that was very easy and free, hand over the Items, they pack it in a bag, you show them your phone with the code on it and off it goes, by the time we got back home I had the email from Amazon with our refund details on it.
Sago have a lovely wedding, we’ve been to Benhavis several times.
Urms great poem, but I’m not ready for Autumn yet! I’m still hoping for an Indian Summer.
At our meal with friends the other day, 3 women and 3 men, all we could hear from the men was “sorry, what?” None of whom were deaf, of course.😡 odd really as they were all in the same room and not mumbling, as we are all accused of.
Off to Swindon later as MrOops needs some shoes for next weekends wedding, that’ll be fun.not.
Have a good day everyone, hugs for those in need of one and hopefully a stress free day for us all.

Urmstongran Fri 01-Sept-23 09:26:59

Don’t make me cry Oldbut.... If I start I find it hard to stop these days - but thank you for your kind words. x

Jaxjacky Fri 01-Sept-23 09:21:00

A late good morning from a damp S Hants, yesterday was wet, cold and miserable, we’re due some heat over the next week.
I don’t like those ferry ramps Ash after a dodgy handbrake incident and always asked to go on the lower deck with the trucks.
Glorious Sago, thank you for sharing, it’ll be memorable.
Morning Urms, a special reminder of autumn, it speaks so evocatively of the season.
Phone calls, son calling in and Tesco delivery today.
But most importantly Imogen is 16, she txt at 8 to thank us for her presents,. Grandchildren’s birthdays bring back so many memories.

Foxygloves Fri 01-Sept-23 09:09:40

Good morning all from overcast and cool Foxyland - I swear the rain woke me up in the night.
It is however silent this morning - no sign of next doors builders. 🙏🙏🙏
My shockwave therapy yesterday morning seems to be helping my PF so fingers crossed. I have two more booked and much like everybody here, the thought of being able to go about my daily business without pain is a liberating thought.
September is very much a birthday month in the Foxy family -GD sneaking in early on 30 August, but then one sister in law on the 11th, the other on the 17th, DH was the 16th, my FIL the 25th and littlest fella who DH never even knew about, the 15th. Our first cub would have rounded it off on 6 October if he had lived but that’s another story, although two of my sons in law have their birthdays on 7 and 8 October.
( GD actually had a 31 hour birthday this year starting on their flight home from Langkawi and Singapore on Tuesday afternoon right up to midnight on Wednesday)
So advance birthday wishes to all who celebrate this month.
A quiet day today here before a busy weekend - Norfolk tomorrow, Proms on Sunday and the Harry Potter studios on Monday.
Wishing you all a safe and pleasant day.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 01-Sept-23 09:03:49

Morning all from a grey West Oxfordshire. White rabbits etc. I’m a bit late checking in this morning. No excuse really. We are meeting old friends for lunch in a riverside pub. It is midway between North of Oxford, where they live, and us. My extremely unwell friend rang for a chat yesterday. She had just celebrated her 80th but couldn’t have visitors as her immune system is compromised. She will find out next week if the tumour pressing on her spine has shrunk. Her pain hasn’t gone away. I think I said before that I’ve known this lady for over 40 years.
Have a good day - lovely to see you Urms!

BlueSapphire Fri 01-Sept-23 08:56:35

Sorry for typos in the above, pressed post too soon!

BlueSapphire Fri 01-Sept-23 08:55:32

Good morning everyone, and Happy White Rabbits Day from a damp Northampton. Slept in this morning till nearly 8.30, so need to get my skates on, as I have a hair appointment at 10am.

Successfully fitted the new shower hose and handset yesterday; as informed by the plumber and man in the showroom, it was easy-peasy!
The fencing men turned up in time and am awaiting their quite which they will email to me over the weekend.
An early lunch yesterday and then out to dance classes, U were both full on, and so I was rather puffed afterwards!
Made a big chilli when I got back - three portions in the fridge waiting to go in the freezer.

Hope to get down to our little retail park after my hair appointment, and have a coffee and bite to eat, and top-up shop.
Chicken curry thawing out for dinner tonight.

Hope Friday is kind to all.

hollysteers Fri 01-Sept-23 08:55:00

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Spent yesterday practising for upcoming concert interspersed with house tidying.
Today to optician, hairdresser for roots touch up (I’d do it myself but I have highlights which complicates it…)

Glad you are improving Mick, white rabbits and a lovely Keats poem Urms. I remember seeing the small room overlooking the Spanish Steps in Rome where he died so young and being moved to tears.🌹

Greyduster Fri 01-Sept-23 08:50:27

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a grey east coast to herald in September. I walked my legs off yesterday mostly uphill and while my new hip seems to like it, the rest of me doesn’t! I am wrecked this morning. I must change my default setting so that it doesn’t automatically say “yes” to everything!! GS and his mum are kayaking today. Might be a chance for me to beg a reprieve!
Wow, Sago! What a place! Best wishes for the wedding!
Have the best day you can folks!

Oldbutstilluseful Fri 01-Sept-23 08:49:55

Thank you Urmanstongran for reminding me of this beautiful poem. You are a remarkable lady and much admired

monk08 Fri 01-Sept-23 08:42:00

NannyJan I've got a week left of my 60s shock

Grandmabatty Fri 01-Sept-23 08:32:21

Urms one of my favourite poems about my favourite season. Thank you for sharing. GrandMattie I'm angry on your behalf! That's ridiculous at this late stage.
