Anyway, thanks for the congratulations on our anniversary, and yes DustyAngel, it was 62 years 😱. Married in 1961.
Bed stripping and washing this morning. It will dry beautifully in the hot sunshine. My shower and hairwash exhausted me, so it was a late start.
GrandMattie for you, and I hope that you can get to the bottom of all the shenanigans that are pursuing you.

Oops, my dad worked in an asbestos factory, and that contributed to his death.
Our Robbie the robot is beavering away upstairs Taichinan. He makes such a good job of getting under the bed.

GM, can your solicitor confirm that she asked for a confirmation that a risk assessment was carried out both for fire safety and asbestos. She also needs to confirm that she has seen this risk assessment

One of the first posters on the house buying stress thread had a survey done and it never picked up several things that have cost that poster very dear. Culminating in a very damp underfloor, requiring the floor to be replaced and ventilation put in. It has cost her thousands and very much stress. Unless the surveyor has access to below floor coverings then they cover themselves through unavailable access

It seems to me GM that there may have been a cover-up and that the management company may have known about the asbestos problem. Gather as much written detail, with dates, as possible. They have a duty of care and yes you need a solicitor. I was asked about potential bills, when I was secretary/chair of a management company and had to write a report for a new buyer. This all does depend on if the management company knew about the asbestos, or not and if they had any idea of potential future costs

The management co will be a listed company and be limited so any funds needed in excess of the sinking fund would have to come from residents, who will also likely have fees put up in order to re-build the sinking fund

After six weeks of no child care, tomorrow sees the resumption of dgd arriving three mornings a week for breakfast and walk to school and collect from school and feed. It gives a structure to our week. We’ve become lazy 😀.

Good morning from coastal West Sussex where the sky is blue again. DH can’t wait to get to Scotland where it will be several degrees cooler!
I am now on my 4th day of Covid. Yesterday was horrible. I am such a wimp - I haven’t felt this ill for decades, which obviously makes me an extremely fortunate person!
We are still hoping to drive north tomorrow but I can’t picture that happening atm. Lfl, I hope you aren’t incubating anything nasty. Aggie, I hope you cold clears up quickly.

Good morning Mick and all from sunny Lancashire, where it is currently 21°C and rising. We have been drinking our morning tea outside, catching some vitamin D before it gets too hot.

Today I was planning to finish up my workspace reorganisation. The sun hits that side of the house mid afternoon so should be able to get a couple of hours in.

A very late good morning as I was frankly still too tired to post earlier!
However a shower and hair wash have sorted me and in 30 minutes I am off to the Harry Potter Studio Tour with 4 of the GC!
Yesterday was lovely but exhausting. Les Troyens is massively long (5 1/2 hours) and TBH I was beginning to get twitchy about making it to Euston in time for a fast train home- after 10.30 they stop all along the route and can take over an hour.

But it was hugely enjoyable - I found myself remembering how DH and I used to go to the Proms in the early 70’s- possibly the last time was 1973 when I was pregnant!
Anyway, back home by 11.30 (way past my bedtime!) and off again today on my trusty Nimbus 2000.

A very late good morning from a beautiful day on the Essex coast.
DH is in a lot of pain and has an appointment for ultrasound scans this afternoon. He is not a good patient and I am keeping a low profile.
Thinking of you today GM, a sad day of remembrance.
I hope Olddudders recovers well from his operation.
My eldest daughter's MIL was moved into a Hospice on Saturday and there is much sadness in the family. Her husband has gone to be with his mum and dad, they live on the Isle of Wight.
Not a very cheery post, sorry.

It's a lovely day again in w/York's. Went to local market look at vintage cars yesterday, 6yr old grandson couldn't get over the fact that they didn't have seat belts!

Good morning it’s another gorgeous one here in East Yorkshire. With the promise of a nice week we are staying on for a few days apart from popping home for an appointment at some point.

We had a lovely day yesterday with the family over. The gc love looking at all the wildlife here on the park and seeing what is around. DIL and I had a walk while the men watched the football. I showed her dragonfly pond where we sat and put the world to rights. Afterwards we all went for a late lunch so late that they told us there wasn’t a lot left on the carvery 😬
Not sure what we will do today but will go out for a couple of hours I think.

Good morning from a sunny Angus coast where it's not as windy (yet!) as it was yesterday. That wind made a sunny day wasted as the only way to escape it was to stay indoors!
Grandmattie . The trauma of your son's sudden and unexpected passing will be with you forever - my heart goes out to you.

Today is my DS1's 56th birthday!!! That number looks ridiculous when applied to my baby! But then he is going to become a grandfather soon ......
This afternoon I have an Instructors' meeting to discuss what we're going to do at our next tai chi in-house workshop in ten days' time and then practise it. There are four of us and we each take a 30 minute or so block of teaching. I hope we can agree quickly on content! The workshops are usually well-attended and make for a fun day of tai chi with lots of chat over coffee and lunch breaks - and each instructor funds them nerve wracking! Hey ho.
This morning I shall do a bit of basic housework (set robot vac in motion while I tidy the kitchen 😉) and then commune with my goldfish by the pond.
I'm sorry that I have probably missed out many a comment on previous posts that I should have made today, but while writing there has been a to-ing and fro-ing of family WhatsApp conversation which has been distracting. They should all be working!!

Another glorious day so the garden beckons. Greatly enjoyed the company of DS yesterday, lunch out and conversation about anything and everything. Very cheeering.

Thoughts to gMattie - I thought loss would be less painful two years on but it isn’t, and the loss of a child is absolutely the worst, I think. And now the unnecessary difficulties with replacing the bathroom!

After so long with a life linked to the academic year I always feel September is the start of the year, so perhaps I should form some good resolutions- not possible in January.

Good morning all, a grey day here and it looks as if the weather will be very like yesterday with on and off showers all day. The temperatures are in the low twenties and feel so different from last week.

Physiotherapist coming this morning and then I’ve got to wait till 5p.m to have my leg redressed. I’ll be glad to get that done, it’s been catching every time I move.

Good morning all. A cloudy start to the day here. Waiting in for a new larder fridge to be delivered. The old one was above temperature it should be, mind you we had our money’s worth out of it. Not bought anything fancy just I hope a functional white one.
Lovely day again yesterday had a walk around Airthrey loch in the grounds of Stirling University it is a lovely setting. I like many other local babies in the 50’s and 60’s was born in Airthrey Castle which is also in the grounds. It does sound good when asked where you were born to say in a castle!
I also did a second degree there part time while children were young and both my DC also did their degrees there. Hopefully it will brighten up soon.

Good morning from Durham. Where do lost posts go? It’s a mystery!
I was sitting outside DD2’s house, waiting for her to appear, having promised to drop her off at the airport at 7 AM. Since then I’ve picked up DGS2 and we’re about to head out to a local farm. When I take him home later, I’ll collect DGS2’s little dog for the week - makes things easier for her DH with the toddler to see to.

My pianist friend is still here and we will have another practice this morning. The accompaniment is not quite right, his detached retina/cataract have affected him, so fingers crossed it will be ok on the day.
We had a nice meal in town last night, chicken escalopes at a restaurant new to me and will return to.

Our bountiful crop of tomatoes has almost come to an end, I’m happily planting cyclamen and allium bulbs and…finally… the grass seed is germinating.

I got the lawn mowed yesterday and had to get the watering can out. Won't be long before I'm moaning about the lack of rain!
Today I'll be busy at various little necessary jobs having got the laundry out of the way yesterday.

grandMattie it doesn't seem like 2 years since you lost your Philip, it's a very sad day for you indeed. You don't need this asbestos problem aggravating you. Wise to have words with the solicitor I think. I suppose you have no idea when the work will start?
