Went to fill up car ..a monthly chore...to see the price of petrol has sneaked up again...Why?? few weeks ago the price of petrol has dropped but the garages/suppliers have not passed on the decrease in cost..anyone else noticed this??
Food costs...am seeing no decrease in prices...perhaps I'm not shopping economically ..
Still waiting on NHS referral appointments - too exhausted to say more
Oh ..the heatwave..great for my new raspberry plant..but am hiding indoors as cannot cope!grin

oh and the largest City Council in Europe!! Birmingham has gone broke!!

My rant was that a neighbour has had a water leak from his meter, since last Tuesday. I had a moan on the local NEXT DOOR site, and, coincidence or what, the engineers have been out today. And dug a big hole!
I dread to think of how many gallons of water has been wasted during those 8 days.

A Labour Council, never trust the Labour Party where money is concerned, remember the note left my the last Labour Government 😊

I'm annoyed by the numbers coming over on the dinghies and all the money being spent on putting them up in hotels etc.

Bea65 my current trifling rant is the price of Eccles cakes. Our local supermarket had a special offer £2.10 reduced to £1.50.
The offer finished and the cost is now £2.30!

Haven’t the French offered to set up processing centres in France, but our government have refused? Food prices are too high, petrol ridiculously expensive and the government are behaving badly. Excuse after excuse. Bring on the election.

My rant is about people who think it's ok to walk their dogs in the lovely private landscaped gardens surrounding my flat.
They wouldn't like it if I walked into their gardens.

My support of your rant would be to add those who, when politely reminded of the please keep your dogs off the lawns or No dog poop or wee on my garden say My dog can’t read!

Completely agree. It’s disgraceful.

All the things in the opening post. Except for the heat!
I dont do gardening and can sit in the shade.

Timely post as I have been disgruntled lately. Not me at all.
I am recovering from something whihc may be part of it.

My rant is.... people in real life!
Those especially, who say they will get back to you and dont.
Those who dont answer the phone when working for a Company[may not be their direct fault].
A "job" that used to take a matter of minutes to sort out, can now take a matter of days.

Yes, food prices. Food inflation where I live[may not be same nationwide] seems to be more like 20% than 8.something %.

My organic box delivery people from Devon. I was adding a few veg to my list and decided to see where they were grown. Carrots, Italy, how ridiculous, I had lots of good carrots from my English garden. I have cancelled the lot

People constantly flooding into this country how is it going to be paid for. Prices in the shops are up constantly the shops are taking the pi!! now. People who walk past our homes and throw doggy bags in the gardens. I’m not the feisty girl I once was but I wish I was!

Happilyretired123 Tue 05-Sep-23 14:37:07

Actually NiceNanny Tory Councils eg Northamptonshire have also issued the same notice of financial problems. And how well have this government of the last 13 years managed the economy? Highest taxes ever, underinvestment in schools leading to schools unsafe and closing at short notice

Kate1949 Tue 05-Sep-23 14:39:14

People who phone me and I say 'Hello. How are you?' And they tell me. For more than an hour sometimes, without asking how me and mine are, and then saying 'Anyway must go. I'll ring you next week'. Oh good. Can't wait.

Sometime I want to Rant at my geographical /distant family who don’t acknowledge any issues..,

Casdon Tue 05-Sep-23 14:49:20

Powdery mildew has attacked my pride and joy ornamental gourds, and I’m very upset. 😢
I’m annoyed about the state of public transport, my son is on his way home today via a bus and two trains, and it never goes without at least one delay/cancellation/hitch.

Maggiemaybe Tue 05-Sep-23 14:55:50

remember the note left my the last Labour Government 😊

I feel like ranting every time this comes up (Cameron used to reference it at every opportunity, until he skipped off blithely humming into his retirement as PM, leaving others to deal with the fallout from his ruddy referendum).

It was a joke. A tradition of notes being left for the next Chancellor since (Tory) Reginald Maudling wrote this one for his Labour successor James Callaghan in 1964: "Good luck, old cock ... Sorry to leave it in such a mess."

I have noticed the fuel cost rising again 😡 even more annoying is at my local Tesco petrol station the sign outside the station which tells you the cost per litre seems to have been deliberately turned off/broken during this recent price increase, as if they know once you are at the pump you will fill up anyway.

French people griping about pensions. They are more fortunate than many of their European counterparts.
NHS promising my Community Mental Health nurse daughter a role with a certain client group then reneging on that when she took the job. As if the job wasn't stressful enough.

People who complain about migrants.

eddiecat78 Tue 05-Sep-23 15:14:41

People using the dog field next to us who think it is ok to shout at full volume and allow their dogs to bark for an hour

People who complain about migrants.

Yes indeed, and they are often the ones who support the cut in the Aid budget (cue, no doubt, for someone to rant about aid to India when they have a space programme). If the countries these poor people live in are unbearable, perhaps we should do something about it there, rather than wait to treat them so badly when they come here.

This thread eventually, will turn into a politics/migrant one.

ParlorGames Tue 05-Sep-23 15:52:14

Shopping in the veg section of a large supermarket this morning - there was NO regular pre-packed carrots, just huge crates of what can only be described as HORSE CARROTS!
The only smaller packs were Organic at a bloody ridiculous price.
