Good morning Mick and all who follow. Like everyone before me, I really do think you need to get medical advice Mick - we surely can't all be wrong! But if you carry on like this you're body is not retaining the nutrients it needs, and you will become very poorly again.
I don't envy you all with that heat! I think I prefer the day of 'mist' that we had here yesterday. The sun eventually broke through for an hour at 6pm when I went to the pond to feed the fish. Otherwise a very nothing sort of day.
Loving the photos again sago. (I look forward to your next holiday!). I never cease to be amazed at how the things the Romans built 2,000 years ago still stands. Comparisons are odious, I know, but .......
Is that dust from the Sahara again karma?
Grandmattie words fail me regarding that management company! Their "coyness" surely amounts to criminality in the way they appear to have deliberately withheld information from you all. I feel so sorry for you and your fellow residents.
Today is Tai chi followed by shopping and should be followed by plum harvesting. I also have a load of washing in the machine which will be ready to hang out soon - but while I've been writing this the mist has enveloped us again and the bottom of the field is fast disappearing from view. Oh well, I shall discover if washing can dry in the mist I suppose 😉
Enjoy your Indian summer everyone.
Oh, and foxy - where did you find them?

Gingster Thu 07-Sept-23 07:35:17

Good morning all .

Not too hot at the moment so I’ll walk the dog and scurry home.
I have bowls club which is in an a/c hall so that will be pleasant.

We might take a walk along the river later as it’s woody and shady and might be a bit cooler.

A few poorlies on here this morning. Rest up and keep cool.

Good morning from Shropshire.Another hot day was forecast but it has just started raining.I have just checked the weather forecast and now rain until 11am then back to the heat🥵

A pleasant day yesterday with lunch out after dropping H at school. They just do half days in the nursery class. We then had a sit in the cool of their village church before collecting both children.DGD is coping better than expected with the enforced rest after her head injury.

Today a quiet day until early evening when I have an Opthalmology appointment.I always worry before these appointments so hoping all goes well.

I would suggest phoning the nurse at the hospital department you have the contact details for Mick.

Glad you found the meringues foxy!Wondering where they were🤔

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Good morning from a very humid Black Country, where it was hard to sleep.

Great day yesterday with a friend to Hereford. Went on the train as you have a 1/3rd off with the Rail Card. Walk and coffee along the river, visit to the Cathedral, lunch in a pub garden. Perfect, as the sun shone all day.

Thursday walk this morning with a group, with a coffee and chat at the end.

Yes, I would be intrigued to know where those meringues were hiding Foxy

I agree with other Mick a call to your GP is necessary.

Enjoy your day everyone

Good morning from an overcast NE.
I am feeling completely washed out with five days of bowel problems, you have my sympathy Mick, it is very draining.
Yesterday it was good to be in the supermarket, so much cooler than outside.
After lunch thought I would have another go at ringing the bank and managed to speak to a human on the complaints line. An hour on the phone and it transpires they had no record of my transaction, either my bank lost it or the ISA team did. Fourteen weeks of chasing them and they told me to pop my copy of the papers in the post and they will sort it.
Emailed the solicitor again about the POA, they ignored my last one, I think eighteen weeks is a long time to wait.
The whole street is celebrating, the second hand car dealer, who purloined all the parking spaces, did a Moonlight flit on Sunday night.
Going to have a quiet day and finish my novel.
Have a good day.

Good morning. Looks like another lovely sunny day to enjoy.
I have a nail appointment this morning and this afternoon is first time back at sewing club.
Baby sitting this evening.
Wishing all a good day.

Good morning .

Off to my stretch class in just over an hour and then meeting a friend for coffee and lunch. Luckily we have planned to meet at the coast for a gentle walk along the prom with lunch at an hotel with a terrace overlooking the sea.

Our coastal strip is enjoying glorious sunny weather but several degrees lower than most of the rest of the country….so 23 or so is fine for being outside with hat and sunscreen on.

Thinking as always about those dealing with ill health or worries in their own lives or those of loved ones.

Good morning from Durham where, apparently, there may be a light shower at 9 AM. It took to late morning yesterday before we saw the sun, so possibly the same today. My friend has changed our coffee venue this morning but it’s not a problem, then I must go and see what I can get DGS1 for his birthday next weekend. Garden potter later, followed by a dog walk just before dark.
It must be worth a call to your team Mick because you don’t want to go into the weekend so unsettled?
Best wishes to all. X

Another miserably hot night and I look forward to the end of this heatwave as I struggle to cope well. Q and A session with the Bishop this morning which I hope will be worthwhile but nothing else planned other than trying to keep the house reasonably cool. Won’t be long before I am complaining about the cold and wet, though.

Sar53 Thu 07-Sept-23 08:16:24

Good morning from the Essex coast where there is hazy sunshine at the moment. It is forecast to be hot again later.
Food shopping shortly then I will probably go and sit by the sea with my book this afternoon.
GM you have my sympathy. We are a small block of flats that used to be run by a very unhelpful, money grabbing management company. Five years ago we decided to run it ourselves and my goodness what a difference. I know that this is not always possible but I have very little faith in any management company these days.
I hope you all have a pleasant day in the last few days of this Indian summer xxx

Good morning everyone from north Wales where our holiday enters its last two days.

We have had a great time with visits to castles, houses, gardens and wonderful seaside towns and beaches. The weather has been hot and sunny, but there has been a cooling breeze the last couple of days which has taken the worst of the heat away.

We are off to Bangor today to look around Penrhyn Castle and Bangor cathedral with stops for coffee and refreshments throughout the day.

Hope you all have a good day.

Marydoll Thu 07-Sept-23 08:29:22

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, where it is 13°C.

I have lost my post, which is probably just as well, life is proving to be very problematic at the moment and unlike me, I'm doing a bit of wallowing.
Auntieflo, I hope you have a day of feeling reasonably well.

Safe journey Sago, I have thoroughly enjoyed your travelogue. It has brought back so nany happy memories.

Have a good day folks.

Nannagarra Thu 07-Sept-23 08:44:40

Good morning from Sefton where temperatures in the high twenties are forecast. Thankfully tomorrow should be cooler.
We too have a second hand car dealer, currently moved on by teams of work men. His permanent moonlight flit would be most welcome. If you discover the impetus, please post harrigran.
I echo the advice of others, Mick, and hope that you and others soon feel better.

Good morning everybody from south Manchester where it’s raining. Quite humid though. I slept poorly last night and feel like a space cadet this morning.

It chucked it down with rain 49 years ago today when we got married. No lovely outdoor photos it was torrential! When I bemoaned the fact to an elderly aunt she said “happy is the bride the rain falls on”. She was right on that score.

We have no plans but it’s nice still to be here together. I’ll take that.
💙

Here’s Matt.

Foxygloves Thu 07-Sept-23 08:55:15

Likewise Urmstongran !
It blew a hooley the morning of our wedding in St Andrew’s 53 years ago in July, but your elderly (probably younger than many of us!) aunt was right
Enjoy the gift of the wonderful life you have with your soulmate and Happy Anniversary to you both 🥂🍾💕

Grandmabatty Thu 07-Sept-23 08:55:49

Good morning all from bright and sunny South Lanarkshire.

I struggled a bit yesterday at work which convinced me that my decision to leave was the right thing to do. One of our volunteers is interested in applying for my job so I was giving her a few pointers, she’s a hard worker and I’m sure she would do well. There’s been a fair amount of interest already.

DS’s house move almost didn’t happen due to a last minute hitch with their buyer’s buyer. Thankfully it was resolved and they got their keys at 4.30pm which resulted in having to pay several hours overtime to the removal company. I’m just so pleased that they are finally in the house.

Today will be laundry and putting away most of the summer clothes, I doubt we’ll get more than a few days of warm weather now.

Wishing everyone the best day possible especially those struggling just now.

baubles Thu 07-Sept-23 08:59:51

Good morning from a damp Shropshire. Not too hot at the moment but sunshine forecast for later.

Off to see the cardiologist this afternoon for the results of the two week heart monitor. Just hope it’s shown a reason for the iregular heart beats and it’s fixable.

Sending love to Urms and her DH,enjoy your quiet day together.

Hope everyone has a nice day.

aggie Thu 07-Sept-23 09:07:55

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a slightly misty South Yorkshire. Mick do get in touch with your doctor, please.
I got the hose out to water the top garden last night - something I hate having to do when I have a butt almost full of free water, but hauling watering cans up the steps is having a detrimental effect on my hip, so something has to give.
I’ve been sleeping badly since I came back from holiday, so I tried the spare bed - and still slept badly! I made three bottles of elderberry cordial yesterday evening. The kitchen looked like a massacre had taken place, but it smelled like Christmas with all the cloves, cinnamon and ginger. I’ll be glad to have it to hand through the winter. It’s a pick me up, and good for colds and coughs.
Off out with the walking group this morning and will call in on DD before going home.
Have the best day you can, folks.
