Good Morning Everyone,
Its twilight before we start to have another hot day here in brackley , normally its raining when the fair comes to town.
Mind think back last year sees the anniversary of the Queens Death will it be marked with something of an event?
Otherwise , taking it day by day as to health improvements .
Take Care,
Mick

A slightly better night but I am so looking forward to the promised drop in temperature, at least overnight. Interesting meeting with the bishop yesterday with rare honesty from the parishes. We will see if it makes any difference.

Oldies coffee morning and then trip to local small town to collect hearing aids, in for repair after one cracked. They are not essential but make social events easier. Nothing else planned then till Sunday but will need to dig out the paperwork to see if HMRC are right about unpaid tax, which I expect they are. A fairly fun day all in all.

Morning all from S Hants, high cloud, due to burn off for another hot day, I’ve just wandered around the garden, the cool air is delightful.
Devastating news Ash a broken family.
Housework has been mostly ignored in this heat other than the necessities, I’ll have an early walk, grocery delivery this afternoon and pub tonight.
Enjoy your days out, holiday’s and family time.
A moment to think of those enduring difficult days 💐.

Good morning from sunny Suffolk. Just lost my post in which I had expressed my deeply felt distress at your tragic news Ash. I can’t begin to understand how the young daughter and her father will cope with such life changing events.

Yesterday by the sea was wonderful. The North Sea,usually brown, was blue and my friend and I wished we had taken our swimming stuff as there were lots of swimmers and nut brown people on the beach and many outside the beach huts.

Today I am meeting a friend for lunch at a market town half way between us. We can walk along the river before having lunch at a tea hut with seating outside and under umbrellas.

Counting our blessings that the return for all 8 of our DGC to school went well and all are in good health. Thinking of those who continue to have worries and stresses.

Good morning all from a muggy Black country.
Ash such tragic news thoughts with all of you🙏.
Well today I'm 70 I've left the swinging 60s😀, we have arranged to meet the family for a meal later and then will meet up with friends at the club. I'm not one for parties so we took the family away to Benalmadena earlier in year to celebrate.
Will come back later to catch up with everybody's happenings I'm going to make a cuppa 🍵 and open my cards an pressies.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Grammaretto Fri 08-Sept-23 07:48:54

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Haar again here but it's due to burn off and become a hot, sunny day
I'll be doing my shift at the community store but alas my nice colleague is on holiday so I may be on my own at the till.
I was sad to miss the walk yesterday thanks to my painful hip. But I had 2 unexpected visitors including a very recent widow. I was glad to be home.

Ash what dreadful news for that little family. I hope you are able to support eachother.

It's exactly a year since the late queen died, I went down with covid and my DS and his family left me to go back to NZ.
Today will surely be happier.

I'm going away for the weekend and looking forward to it.

Have a good day everyone, if you can

Good morning, looking forward to another bright. day.
This morning I am going to help set up a craft exhibition with our Thursday sewing group. I’ve had to change arrangements a little as I thought it was next week !
Meeting 3 friends for lunch so that will be the afternoon gone.
Ashcombe Such sad, sad news.
Multi How lovely that you can look forward to some lovely holidays.
Wishing all a good day.

Good morning from a Bristol with a thin cloud cover. No doubt, the sun will burn it soon and we shall have another hot day.
Ash, there are no words one can use to express our sorrow for your young relation. It is a tragedy for them all.
I have only just woken up! A good 4 hours after my normal time! No, I took nothing, went to bed just before 10, and fell asleep soon after.
On Wednesday evening, I had a WIzoom tutorial on making patchwork squares, this was the result of the latest class.
My phone went during my tai chi class. As it is a rare occurrence, I crept out to answer it. It was the chap from the management company who came to -patronise- talk to us about the complex. Mirabile dictu. He called to apologise for cancelling my bathroom refit! I wrote back asking that the residents should be told, not telling him that I am spreading the news far and wide.
Today is a quiet day, expecting a parcel “ between 1031 and 1431”. It’s the exactitude that amuses me! I’m also going to my upstairs neighbour with the neighbouring chap.
My prayers to those in sorrow, pain or distress. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Durham. No sun yesterday, just a heavy humid day.
Ash’s news has shocked me, how utterly devastating.
Afternoon coffee with a friend today, but must tackle some ironing first. DD2 due back from Seville later, she’s been sending some beautiful pictures.
Best wishes to all. X

Urmstongran Fri 08-Sept-23 07:39:18

Good morning everybody.
Ashcombe indeed there are no words. The grief ahead for that poor 7 year old just breaks my heart.

Here’s Matt.

brook2704 Fri 08-Sept-23 07:38:50

Good morning everyone from a warm and already sunny Inverness, another gorgeous day forecast for later
Ash I’m so sorry to hear such tragic news, please send my deepest condolences to the family, such a tragic loss
This morning I’m going to the gym and then meeting my friend for coffee and a catch up. Should be home early afternoon to potter in the garden if it’s not too hot
Sar hoping things improve very soon for your DGD, its so awful seeing them upset isn’t it
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Gingster Fri 08-Sept-23 07:38:12

GG have a lovely weekend 💆‍♀️🧘‍♀️🧖‍♀️🍹

NannyJan53 Fri 08-Sept-23 07:34:15

Good morning from a dull but humid Black Country.

Lovely walk yesterday round Baggeridge Park, where it was mostly in the shade as it is a very wooded area thankfully.

No plans today, so probably the gym (at least it is air conditioned). Up early tomorrow as off on a u3a trip.

Such very upsetting news Ashcombe I cannot begin to imagine how the family are feeling. I feel so sad for the little daughter.

Wishing you all the best day.

Gingster Fri 08-Sept-23 07:33:59

Good morning all.

Ash such shocking news. That poor little girl and her dad! 🙏

Yesterday we walked through the woods along by the river which was pleasantly cooler. Sat and watched the swans and a lonely canoeist. As soon as we left the woods , the heat was too much for us and little dog.
Back home and the fan had stopped working 🥵. I’ve ordered another, due this afternoon.

Today we meet our Friday friends and the cycling tour will go passed the pub garden where we will have ringside seats. 🚴‍♀️🚴🚴‍♂️.

Sar sorry to hear your DGD has had a rough start at school. Hopefully the school will sort it quickly. 🤞. Poor girl - it isn’t fair!

Multi have a great holiday - I feel your excitement for trips abroad next year. Hope all goes well for you. Sounds ideal.

Take care everyone and keep cool if you can. 🌻

GrannyGravy13 Fri 08-Sept-23 07:32:45

Morning all

Ashcombe I am so sorry, heartbreaking for all concerned 💔

Sar53 I do hope your DGD has a better day today, it’s worrying when our loved ones are unhappy.

For the first time in three years I am not on Granny duty as The Imp is now at pre-school four full days. I will miss having him.

Off to the gym and a small shop.

Tomorrow I am off to a spa for the weekend with DD and two DiL’s, hopefully I will return ready to cope with the stress of builders and structural engineers 😡😡😡

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

luluaugust Fri 08-Sept-23 07:26:57

Good morning from a cloudy W Kent
Ash so sorry to hear your tragic news, thoughts with you all
Enjoyable time at art catching up with all the news. Confused time with the paramedic at the surgery regarding my statins. I report a nasty side effect and he tells me to carry on taking them! I do have an appointment with a nurse later in the month so should get a bit more help then I don’t understand what is so urgent when they have done nothing about it before.
Off on holiday for a few days to N Norfolk a favourite spot of ours
Best wishes to all

NanKate Fri 08-Sept-23 07:25:11

How desperately sad Ash. 🕊️

Pittcity Fri 08-Sept-23 07:21:46

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Another hot, dry day.
Aldi first thing via the letter box to send a card to a friend who's father has died.
Then a day of this and that while staying cool.
Hugs to Ash and love to all 🦩 x

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 08-Sept-23 07:19:03

Good morning it promises to be another scorcher!
We are off to the coast for the wedding tomorrow, hot weather is promised down there as well.
Ash what a tragedy for the whole family, but especially the husband and little girl, so very sad.
Safe travels to those on the move and best wishes for those staying out of the sun and hopefully out of the heat.
That reminds me I’ll have to wear sunscreen tomorrow as there will be a lot of standing around at the Church.
Have a good day everyone, virtual hugs for those caring for loved ones.

Susan56 Fri 08-Sept-23 07:16:14

Sar I am so sorry your DGD had a bad day at school.I am really glad the school are being proactive and hope things settle down for her.

BlueSapphire Fri 08-Sept-23 07:12:37

Good morning everyone from a still cool Northampton,.but set to be mother hot day.

Did very little yesterday, just stayed indoors in the cool and read. Around 5pm I went out into the garden and did the wateting, then got myself a drink and my Kindle,.and sat in the sun for while until it disappeared behind my neighbour's house.

Ash what terrible news; one can only imagine the terrible grief and pain that poor family must be going through.

Out with ballet friends this morning to an informal coffee morning our dance teacher is holding at a garden centre the other side of town. Being picked up at 9.30 and thinking it might be rather warm, will probably wear a cool dress.

No other plans for today, except defrost a curry for tonight's dinner. May the sun shine on us today. (But not too hot, thank you.)

Sar53 Fri 08-Sept-23 07:05:40

Good morning from the Essex coast where it is warm already. Yesterday was very hot, so glad we had the air con installed.
Ash thinking of you and your family, how sad for you all xx
DGD2 had a bad at school yesterday but the school appear to be very proactive and DD1 has a meeting there next week. Poor DGD2, only two days in.
No real plans today apart from some early ironing.
I wish you all well xxx

kittylester Fri 08-Sept-23 06:59:17

Good morning all from a misty North Leicestershire.

Ash, I am so sorry to hear your sad news.

Yet more kitchen work today and we are admitting defeat and going to the pub for dinner. We are picking B,P and W from school first - first time this term

Have the best day possible all.

Susan56 Fri 08-Sept-23 06:58:45

Good morning from Shropshire.Another scorcher forecast🥵

Ash, as you say there are no words. How heartbreaking. Our thoughts are with the whole family especially the father and little girl🙏🏻

I had good news at the ophthalmologist in that there is an improvement in my eye condition. In all the scenarios I had imagined an improvement hadn’t crossed my mind.DH said well I knew there would be, you have done everything he told you!

A day of keeping on top of all household jobs and packing for our trip to Scotland.DD will bring the children over after school and will leave them for a sleepover.

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 08-Sept-23 06:55:05

Morning all from an already warm West Oxfordshire.
Such sad and difficult news Ash.
It is our monthly WI Coffee morning. Rather than meet in the village coffee shop we are travelling further afield to a Garden Centre. I think around ten of us will go - I will drive at least one person. After lunch I am having a hair cut with my usual stylist at my usual salon. I have quite a bit of ironing to do, but it’s soooo hot! Apart from walking to a friend’s house last night I haven’t really been out in it.
Have a good day everyone. I hope the Urms’s had a good anniversary yesterday.

Greyduster Fri 08-Sept-23 06:52:29

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a misty South Yorkshire. Ash that is unbearably sad; my heart goes out to you all.
I have the early funeral of our neighbour to attend this morning. I’ve been offered a lift with another of our neighbours and am glad not to be going alone. This afternoon, I will try and cut the front lawn if it’s not too hot, and clear away some dead plants before the next green bin collection. Everything is going over at a rate of knots.
Have the best day you can folks.
