Good Morning Everyone,
Twilight here but dry possible clouds as well here in brackley .
The sooner the heatwave breaks the happier I will be , as seem to enjoy cooler and wetter conditions personally .
Trying not to dehydrate as drinking water more .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning as another scorching day approaches.

Thank you for the wonderful support from you kind people here yesterday. The tragic episode certainly puts things in our life in perspective.

Very belated anniversary greetings to Mr and Mrs Urmstongran. Happy travelling to those on holidays.

Good morning from a dawning Bristol. The hot night was relieved by a frozen hot water bottle! Try it.

Yesterday was quiet. I had coffee with my upstairs neighbour, who had invited the chap, upstairs opposite. He was unable to join us, but popped round to see me in the late afternoon.

T is a retired architect who told me that he couldn’t understand how/why asbestos was found at this late stage, without visiting or taking samples…. He also gave me advice on what to ask and to insist on copies of all certificates involved.

As the poor manager/warden is on holiday this week, I will collar her next week. Unfortunately, I have to do all my whinges via her, so as, I assume, the managers further up can dump all the responsibility and s..t onto her.

I’m serving coffee at church this morning and have made some chocolate biscuits. More pottering/sewing in the afternoon.

Gentle thoughts to those in sorrow, ill health, or distress. Celebrations with the birthdays, etc. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning Mick I completely agree with you regarding the weather, I barely slept last night despite having a fan on.
I struggle with balancing my fluid intake versus limited fluids because of severe heart failure, if I don’t drink enough I get migraines 🙄
Hopefully it will be cooler by Monday 🤞🏻
Yesterday I did housework most of the morning, 5 loads of washing dried beautifully including the dog’s beds so that was very satisfying. I flopped in the afternoon after another cool shower, as did DH and the dog 😊
Today little planned other than making a salad for lunch 🥗
Take care everyone 🌹

Good morning from s somerset. My air filtering machine is indicating tiny air particles blowing in through the open french door, quite likely to be fungi or leaf mould spores

Not a good night, it was too warm all night, so a slow day for me today. Got to look after this body, would be all too easy to get heat stroke, don`t need sun on me for that

I was supposed to be going to an inside event this evening, many people, not much ventilation. Two relations with covid are saying not to go and I will listen to them. No need to inform about covid these days and it is rampant

Have a good day

RosesandLilac Sat 09-Sept-23 06:33:41

Oops! Good morning everyone! I didn’t mean to leave anyone out 🙏

Good early morning. I’m up and getting ready to catch a coach to Buckingham Palace. The Coronation paraphernalia is on view. A tour around the Palace and then the gardens.
My friend and I didn’t dream we would be having a heatwave , when we booked it. Never mind , the coach will have a/c and I have a fan and face spray. 🥵.

Yesterday we saw the cycling tour pass by as we sat at our usual country pub. It was fairly busy with enthusiasts and we cheered them on. Looks very dangerous to me.🚴‍♂️.

Enjoy your day everyone, if you can 🌻

Morning Mick, morning All. A sunny day ahead for our corner of Somerset.

Enjoyed my volunteering session yesterday morning. After lunch I sorted more appointments for Mr C before we wandered off out for a coffee. All very mundane, somehow my head is full of mush and my ability to think has left me.

I am very, very tired, enthusiasm zero for most things - especially this mornings bed changing tasks! Not all doom and gloom. One of ours sent pictures of an award he has secured for his employer, we’re so pleased for him, it’s been an uphill climb and wonderful for him to have the recognition.

I think it’s cooling down next week mick which may suit you better. I’ll be sad if the sun disappears with reduced temperatures. Look after yourself ash. Really pleased you have a knowledgeable neighbour mattie, such a muddle.

Hope Saturday is kind to us all.

Foxygloves Sat 09-Sept-23 06:40:22

Good morning all - I heartily second all those looking to the end of this seasonably hot weather. The Dyson fan has been working overtime and I really do not care more whether I am using more electricity than I should.
Two large quiches baked yesterday (one classic quiche Lorraine and one courgette and goats cheese) to take with me to our family lunch today- a joint birthday celebration ranging from 72 via 70 (a biggie) to 9 and 2 . Just as well we won’t be having all those candles on the cake(s) I think the smoke alarm might be triggered.
Kind thoughts to all in distress or pain and a pleasant day to you all.

Morning all from an already clammy West Oxfordshire. I slept well even though it was hot. OH is visiting his bees today and also having a demonstration on extracting honey. I will do little apart from attacking my ironing pile which still beckons! Chicken curry for dinner. Bring on the thunderstorms which have been forecast the last few days! Have a good day everyone especially those who who are suffering.

Foxygloves Sat 09-Sept-23 06:42:40

Eyes still sleepy unseasonably !

Nannagarra Sat 09-Sept-23 06:50:03

Good morning from foggy Sefton.
Belated birthday wishes and gentle concerns for those who are unwell are sent.
DGdog, the goldie puppy, is holidaying with us so our current activities are quite pooch-centric. We thoroughly enjoy living with a dog.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from East Yorkshire!

We had a long journey home from Spain, the ferry was late leaving Santander due to security checks in the UK, this was due to the escaped prisoner from Wandsworth.
We queued to embark in bright sun, it was arduous.

The crossing though was fabulous, we saw dolphins and whale blows from the deck and ended up having drinks and dinner with another couple, we had a hoot!

We arrived home yesterday at 19.00 our daughter had arrived at our house with the grandchildren from Cheshire as we are all at a wedding today, she bought a big lasagne with her that I had made weeks ago and put in her freezer so supper was easy.

So I am up rather early watching Spider-Man with my lovely grandchildren, first load of washing on the line and second in the machine!

No Spanish pictures today just two sleeping children.

Have a happy weekend everyone.

Good morning Michael and all GNs. Going to be another hot one today. My neighbour’s funeral went well yesterday but I was glad I didn’t have to go on my own. I came home, cleaned my kitchen and cut the grass. I have no plans for today. The family may be coming over but in their own inimitable way, they won’t let me know until the last minute!
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from sunny Cornwall. Roll on proper autumn and refreshing winter. The Ukrainian café visit yesterday was a damp squib; my food (barley pie) was frozen in the middle, my friend's quiche microwaved to death. A shame because we really admire the initiative in starting a café in a new country.

Today I may venture to our allotment coffee morning and catch up with my friends. My neighbour will be in for her shower this afternoon; she runs a bar so her days are back to front. Lots of lovely wood to mend her bathroom is stacked downstairs; ooh, what I could do sculpture-wise with some of that! Off to make coffee and sit on my patio now.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 15° and very still. Some cloud about. Foxy enjoy your family lunch. The quiches look very tasty. Cornergran well done to your ds.
Yesterday the garden men arrived before eight and cracked on. There were six burly young chaps all busy in my garden and everything was done by ten. They tidied up everything too. Then dd arrived with dgs2. He and I went out to the garden but it was very hot so, after a walk to look at the council grass cutters, we stayed indoors.
Today I'll do housework and washing and get food at Aldi. I shall go to the local garden centre later for a couple of birthday cards and gifts. They have an excellent selection. Tonight I'll visit mum. Probably salmon salad for dinner. Have a good day all

Divine picture Sago.

Good morning all from a very hot and muggy North Leicestershire. We had all windows open and all fans on so slept quite well.

We went to the pub over the road for a meal last night. The were very few people there and we had the restraint part to ourselves. The food was lovely, the staff fabulous and it had a great ambience but I worry that it won't survive.

Today, more kitchen fitting and DH and I are off on a search for fabric for the window seats.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning everyone from a dry and soon to be very warm day here on the east coast of Fife.

I am truly excited - 2 more sleeps before I’m off to Blackpool.
Yesterday I got the dreaded covid vaccine and flu jab, you may think what’s the issue here but I’ve been terrified of needles for the last 40 yrs due to being misdiagnosed as a 14 yr old andbeing prodded with needles

Since my stroke 4 yrs ago I found a neurologist who after reading back my notes says emphatically that I’ve never been epileptic I’ve been fainting due to a racing heart. After being prescribed a beta blocker called digoxin there’s been no sign of any faintings hallelujah. It’s a real miracle drug.

Take care all of you who may be cautious about your health, take charge and do not be afraid to question.

Grandmachrisy47 Sat 09-Sept-23 07:10:32

Good morning all, from Co Durham. We have the grand dogs staying again. They don’t like the heat, nor do I.
Sago, I’ve loved your travelogue.
Hope everyone has as good a day as possible

Susan56 Sat 09-Sept-23 07:19:33

Good morning from Shropshire.Another scorcher forecast today🥵🥵🥵

I am finding the heat difficult to tolerate.Hard to believe we used to holiday in Greece,Italy and Spain in July years ago.

The grandchildren stayed overnight and today we will go into our local town and have a picnic in the park.

The quiche look lovely Foxygloves😋

I hope Marydoll is ok and that we hear from her today🤞🏻

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

GrannySomerset Sat 09-Sept-23 07:21:11

Grey and misty but not noticeably cooler; I shall be glad when this heatwave breaks. Nothing planned for today which is as well since I have no energy at all.

Thank you for the wonderful holiday pictures, Sago, it sounds like a memorable trip which I have enjoyed vicariously. Hope today brings pleasure to everyone.

brook2704 Sat 09-Sept-23 07:22:16

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve some light grey cloud but forecast to be sunny later. I think we’re due to have much cooler weather from tomorrow
A gorgeous picture Sago pleased you’re home safely and hope the wedding today goes well
There’s a one off dance class at the gym this morning with a new instructor that I’m going to try out. I don’t usually go to the gym at the weekend but she’s such a lovely lady that I’d like to support her with her new classes. After that I’m definitely home for the rest of the day for a gentle potter in the garden.
The quiches look good foxy have a lovely family get together
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from Colchester where another 30° day is forecast. I have DS's laundry to tackle and our bed to change first thing.
I am popping into the City centre later to say goodbye to our charity shop manager who's moving on.
DH will be home from his fishing trip with more laundry this evening.
I sat in the garden last night and enjoyed listening to an orchestra playing in the adjacent park. Today it's a family music festival. Lots of free entertainment on this estate.
Love to all 🦩 x
