Covid booster

Don’t know what to do ,I’ve had four or vaccines, lost count, but had Covid four times, each just after the vaccine.I still don’t feel well from the last bout. Tried to speak to someone at my surgery, but it’s impossible, just emergencies.

I enquired at local pharmacy about flu vaccination, they are starting next week then I got a text from the GP to say that I should register for flu and covid together. I am not happy about that so arranged covid one for this Sunday at a pharmacy and will have the flu one at a different pharmacy.

I'm in Edinburgh and I received a letter a couple of weeks ago. Went online and booked- close to home, unlike last year when people were travelling long distances to get them.
I had the jabs this afternoon. It was the updated Moderna and the flue jab. No sore arm either side tonight but let's see. I had quite a reaction last time! Fingers crossed.

WE had ours last Monday, they did walk ins at Greendale, hardly anyone there. Our local chemist (new one) is doing walk ins every day from next Monday 8.30-6.30pm, absolutely brilliant for the community.

I had a text last week from my GP surgery to make an appointment . I rang yesterday and am having both on 2nd October . I had my shingles one 2weeks ago .

No,*DamaskRose*, it may be over 75s, as people I know who are 77 and 93 haven't had their appointment letters yet, but some friends (as well as us) who are 70 to 75 have had ours. I haven't done a wide survey, and only in one place, so I may have it wrong too!

I think (don’t quote me) that, in Scotland, the over 70’s are getting theirs later to give them a better chance of keeping well over Christmas.

I've almost decided not to have the covid booster this time around. After the spring booster I developed backache to the point where I could barely walk. I've had backache many times in the past but this was on a different level, I felt I was about to break in half. I will have the flu vaccine though.

Rang me today . Had all my others although because of my age didn't have one this year.last one a year ago I am in two minds if I should have it . Will it work with new variant.
I did have covid this year was okay though just really tired.

Just checked again and have been able to book for the weekend at a local pharmacy. There was nothing local up till now, so more are being added all the time.

I agree it's very disjointed. I have a qualifying illness and haven't been contacted by my GP for either flu or C19 jabs. DH is under 65 with no qualifying health issue but HAS been offered a flu jab. I've booked mine at Boots in October.

A lot of people will miss out if they're not on the ball.

Do you have an account with NHS Scotland, PCE? I received a letter weeks ago for my vax but my Dh has received nothing. I went onto his account and he’d already been booked in but they hadn’t told him! 🤷‍♀️. I managed to change it to a better date for us.

Had ours yesterday, booked online. Seems to be pharmacies only. Nothing local for us and we had to drive to get to the pharmacy. Must be difficult for those who are older and not mobile. Flu jab booked with GP for end of September. Not very well co-ordinated.

Our GPSs in this area can’t offer covid currently due to lack of allocation by nhs distribution centre. Locals can travel 30miles to the nearest walk in centre. Why is living up North of England always an afterthought?

Depends on health area maybe? Have you checked online? Mine came through for this week, hubby didn't get notification but rang and arranged an appointment, not til November but he'll try to change it for earlier.

We just had ours done at Walk In Pharmacy, with no queues. We go on holiday Tuesday so wanted it done before we flew abroad.

Our appointments came in a couple of weeks ago but the date was unsuitable, so we went online and rearranged. Very easy. We'll both get the flu jag at the same time in the other arm. As immunisations in Scotland are now arranged by the Health Boards, we have to go to the next town, but it's an excuse for a trip on the bus and lunch out.

Had a text today. Booked for tomorrow afternoon at a clinic 1 mile away.

Flu jab booked for this Friday at GPs. Nearest place for Covid jab is 20 miles away..! Hopefully I'll be able to book somewhere nearer soon.

Here in Wales we have to wait for an ‘invitation’. They have started however as a neighbour who has multiple health problems has just had both of hers.

Had a text from surgery last Wednesday, went on line and booked for last Sunday at surgery for covid booster and flu. Very efficient.

Got a text message this morning. Went on line to find where I can get a jab, the nearest is 27 miles away. I've already had 5, that has to be enough

Got a text from my surgery on 1st September. Clicked on the link immediately but couldn't get an appointment before 23rd October! This is for Covid and flu. I am 80.

Had flu jab on Saturday at a pharmacy. Just had Covid jab at local pharmacy.
