Aw. I was such an Ilya fan 😢

I can remember being taught French 57 years ago, and the French mistress, who was Very Old (i.e. about 40🫢), wondering why we all giggled when asked to repeat "il y a". When told, she said we were the best pronouncers of "il y a" she'd ever had 😄.

He was always my favourite 😍
Just had his 90th birthday.

Oh dear.

Was a huge ‘Man From U.N.C.L.E. ‘ fan. Collected all the free cards you got with bubble gum or similar which put together made a big picture of the two stars. They are still in the loft somewhere, wonder if they are valuable?😂

Had ‘Ilya Forever’ in huge felt tip capitals on the inside of my school P.E. case.

A great age, another Man from U.N.C.L.E. fan RIP💐

He was so handsome. He visited his Aunt who stayed 2 doors away from my Gran, I reckon it would be about 50 years ago. I can remember the street outside the house being packed with kids mostly hoping for a glimpse of him.

Think we all loved Ilya! He was gorgeous.

I had a massive crush on him!!

Ilya and Ducky, two great parts for a wonderful actor.

I had his picture stuck on the inside of my school desk lid (totally against the rules).

Another big fan of Ilya here! Takes me back to my school days when many of us had a big crush on David McCallum, although never could fathom out what was going on in the story lines of the Men From UNCLE, minor detail though! Thursdays, I remember were my favourite tv nights, Top of the Pops and then an hour of UNCLE

He reached a great age. RIP David McCallum

I loved him in the Man from U.N.C.L.E but more recently, he was great in NCIS as Ducky.

I too had a young teenage crush on him, as Illya Kuryakin.
My dad always used to say " he's about the same age as me "
Loved in later years as Ducky as well.

One of my favourite actors, so sad but he was 90 and had lived a good life.

Great actor and apparently also a lovely man. I started re-watching NCIS 3 days ago, will now do so with added poignancy

I recall being an UNCLE agent and had an agent card, but I’m still waiting to be called to duty! No point now! 😥

Loved Illya - named my cherished guinea pig after him. A very talented man.

He was so good looking (well, quite beautiful if you can say that of a man).

DH told me this morning and when I asked how old he was, DH said "About your age I think".
I knew he was older than me but didn't realise he was 90.

Oh yes!!

I wasn't keen on Sapphire and Steel, probably felt I'd never out-do JL!, but I've loved him in NCIS.

The Meatpuzzle episode when Kate asks Gibbs what Ducky looked like when he as younger, and Gibbs says, "Ilya Kuryakin".....

I've always had a soft spot for him since Man from Uncle days. A long life well lived. RIP
