Good Morning Everyone,
A dark and a dry start here in brackley this morning.
Usual routine today , although yesterday I could have gone to a funeral service of a local musician Bernie Marsden of Whitesnake fame, it would have meant standing outside the church in Buckingham to hear the service , whilst special guests went into the church .
Take Care ,
Mick

Good Morning Tuesday 26th September 2023
(52 Posts)Good morning from Bristol. I hope it won’t be too wet and windy today.
The toddler poster proved remarkably popular with both the parents and children and looks great. I didn’t have a chance to take a photo.
I went to the monthly “cinema club” for the wrinklies and saw a film about a hairdresser in Caernarfon saving her local cinema/theatre. Very sweet.
Got a letter from the management company and I am to meet the chap I have been corresponding with tomorrow. DD is coming to give me moral support. Why the surveyor herself can’t/won’t come, goodness knows. The saga continues!
Only a haircut at home late this afternoon. I’ll probably go to tai chi this morning if it isn’t too wet.
Hugs to all especially those in distress, especially Urms. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good morning from a damp Torbay, due to be windy later.
Thank you for all the kind wishes for our journey. We covered the 200 mile journey in 4.5 hours, including an hour for lunch, which was much more enjoyable than the outward journey on Friday! Before leaving, we spent time with my DS, who has been considering buying a decent camera instead of using his phone. DH kindly gave him one of his Nikons and spent time showing him how to use it.
I appreciated the complimentary comments about my DGD regarding her dancing success. Yes, Grandmabatty, we plan to cut short our Christmas visit to France in order to see her in panto. My goodness, BlueSapphire, your DGD showed talent from a very early age! You must be very proud of her.
Back to Props at the theatre this morning then a committee meeting there tonight. I’m pleased to say that my hip remains comfortable which is such a relief!
A good day is wished to you all. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
Good morning from a dark and wet Cornwall. I'm leaving soon on a bus to attend a group interview. If I'm accepted I'll be a hospital volunteer next year. As I was self-employed for decades before I retired this will be my first interview in a very long time. Fascinating, as I have no idea what to expect.
Yesterday, an unplanned babysitting session at my younger grandchildren's house, a great delight, then a lovely conversation on the bus journey home with a young medical student I'd not met before. The bus was packed with freshers on their way into town for a jazz night. I love the vibrancy of the new intake of students at this time of year, full of hope for their futures. I like seeing the fashions they choose too, very eclectic. So glad your hip is behaving Ash.
Good morning from the South Downs. Haven’t a clue as to the weather, although forecast says thundery showers until mid-morning. It is incredibly mild for the time of year. Yesterday was the most beautiful autumn day and so warm.
Well, yesterday went as planned. Sister has had the offending object removed and has now to wait for the lab results. So everything crossed that it isn’t bad news.
Today is a day at home. So I plan to give the conservatory a good clean and sort the plants. Then hopefully the rain will have stopped so out into the garden.
Not sure about our meal today
Peace and harmony to all.
Good morning from Shropshire.A mixed day forecast weather wise.
Today is my mum’s 91st birthday.DD1 and I are going over to take her out for an early lunch as we have to be back for our Welsh class at 3.30.DH is flying solo on school drop off, pick up and after school club duties.
I’m glad your hip is settling down Ash.
Good luck with the interview Mizuna🤞🏻
Thinking of all our absent good morning friends and all who are struggling with illness and worries💐🙏🏻
Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 13° and dry. Mizuna I hope you are successful. You sound perfect for it. Ash glad your hip is okay.
Yesterday was hard work! Dgs2 is a very demanding toddler. We didn't know how lucky we were with dgs1! After I dropped off dgs1 at nursery, dgs2 and I went for a walk around the streets. We were out for three quarters of an hour walking. Then lots of playing inside and outside. I had a phone call from the hospital regarding mum. She is refusing medication and refusing to eat so there is a form to be filled in. It was difficult to make out what the nurse was saying because of her very strong accent, my deafness and dgs2 shouting in the background, so I'll ask to speak to someone when I visit tonight. It's what I expected after a brief conversation with mum last week. As Scapa said last night, "She's turned her head to the wall."
Have a good day all
I’m so sorry Grandmabatty.Very sad and an upsetting phone call for you to receive💐
Good morning from a very wet corner of Somerset, it’s tipping down!
Yesterday I spent a very enjoyable day painting, the weather was perfect and I was quite pleased with my efforts. It’s so different to painting from a photo.
Today more of the same providing the rain stops- the forecast isn’t too optimistic.
There’s a studio we can use here.
Sending you hugs Grandmabatty, we had this with my mother during Covid, I couldn’t even visit her and she was too deaf for video calls.
Take care everyone 🌹
Good morning all from a grey looking North Leicestershire.
The tiler is back today. DH and I are on the hunt for shelves for the utility room.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning from rainy Colchester. It's not forecast to last and we'll have 23° later. Still Summer here.
DH went fishing at stupid o'clock.
I am volunteering in the charity shop as it's Tuesday. Meeting a new manager today.
Quiet evening watching Bake Off.
Hugs for Grandmabatty and love to all 🦩 x
Morning all
Grey here in S E Essex. Today I shall be in the kitchen batch cooking for the freezer and hopefully making my first batch of Christmas Chutney. (Chilli con carne, Coq au vin and a beef ragu)
Grandmabatty sorry to hear about your Mum
Ashcombe your DGD must be so excited, there is something joyous about a pantomime.
(((Hugs))) dear virtual friends 🦩🙋♀️
Morning all. I lost yesterday to a bout of vertigo o I’m not up to speed with all your news. Thankfully I’m much improved today as I’m waiting for early arrival of dgd for breakfast and escort to school.
On Sunday I bit the bullet and booked a three night stay in Dundee with my sister in law next month. It will be our first visit there since October 2019. Can’t wait.
Hope you all have as good a day as possible.
Morning Mick, morning All.
We’ve de-camped to Dorset for a few days where the sky is clearing with the promise of a sunny day. I’m happy watching the activity in Poole harbour while Mr C catches up with some sleep.
Decent enough journey broken by an excellent garden centre lunch. Just one missed turn in Poole. It’s a lot further than I usually drive so I’m quietly pleased at the lack of drama. Not sure what we’ll do today. See how we both feel but I’m pretty sure it won’t involve the car (!) and will involve lunch in one of the many restaurants. Perhaps a boat trip, although I’d be happy enough just boat-watching.
I’m sorry grandmab, that’s upsetting news to hear even if you suspected.
Time for another cuppa I think. Have the best day you can everyone.
Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I am supposed to be having a covid jab this morning and then lunch out with OH. But I started feeling under the weather last night. I don’t think it’s covid as I am not coughing. Just really tired. I feel a bit better this morning. OH thinks it was all the worry about my car’s MOT yesterday. It passed! Also, we’re going to France on Friday and have decided not to hire a car. But my sister and niece have said that taxis would be difficult…
Have a good day everyone especially those who are suffering.
Good morning, raining again and very sodden outside, the ground is soaking, maybe sun later
A dd was utterly shocked after getting their increased mortgage payment notice from their bank. It has knocked them for six, as they get to the end of their fixed term. Very many are in the same boat and I will make no comment about heads in the sand. I have given a few tips, writing incomings and every outgoing down in a notebook is an example
Nothing planned for today, yet
Have a good day
Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It’s a bright start so far.
Yesterday whilst DH was back here I went for a walk around the park of our holiday home. I sat on a bench just looking around at the wonderful sight, the gorgeous blue sky and counted my blessings.
Today I am going to my coffee morning. As two of us have birthdays this week we are also having lunch there afterwards. I’m not keen on the menu there but seems to be the popular choice. GS will be coming after school and we will do puzzles and play games.
So sorry to hear your news Grandmabatty it’s a difficult time for you.
Sending hugs for anyone that needs them today 💐
Good morning all from Harrogate- can’t see the weather, there is a lot of condensation on the windows.
Interesting that you are learning WelshSusan A language I would have
like to learn. When I was in the girl guides I was curious
as to who could teach me the language in Ayrshire, and was horrified when months after asking I was told my mother was the only Welsh speaker they could find! I really wanted to find her someone she could converse with.
Today I’ve got my art group this morning and a committee meeting in the afternoon I want to sort out my linen cupboard, which is getting a bit jumbled up.
Have the best day possible folks
Good morning all and it’s grey here on the Suffolk coast.
The sun should be returning later in 🤞. It certainly is still summer here-abouts. Yesterday was glorious and very warm.
We walked in the forest and didn’t see another soul. Chestnut trees are overflowing and we’ll come back in a couple of weeks to gather some of the prickly produce. We love ‘chestnuts roasted on an open fire’. 🎶 (Hope the Squirrels leave some for us. ).
Still flocks of geese flying over. We hear them before we see them. A rowdy lot! ..
We plan to do the Iken to Snape walk today. It’s about two miles and might might be a step too far for Dh. His legs are getting weaker (statins ?). 😤.
Sar have a lovely holiday.
GG Christmas chutney - how yummy.
GM sad about your mum 🙏.
Happy birthday to Susans mum. 91 is a great age 🥳.
Take care and have a gentle day 🌻
Good morning from a drab looking Suffolk with some rain in the night. What a change after the heat and bright sun of yesterday.
The Suffolk Arts Society resume today after the summer break and the talk today is ‘ Bruegel… the seasons and the world’.
I’m driving my 2 friends and myself to Aldeburgh as 1 friend had a cataract op yesterday.
Looking forward to meeting Gingster tomorrow and thinking of those with sadness in their lives.
Good morning everyone.
It’s dull but dry so hopefully we can get a bit of tidying done in the garden. I’ll supervise and do the none bending bits and DH will do the rest.
Otherwise my diary is fairly empty for the next week. I’ve decided not to mix with too many people before my op.
A good day wished for all.
Sar53 safe journey, have a fabulous holiday 😘🛫
Sorry GM - I meant Grandmabatty
