Good Morning Everyone,
A dark and a dry start here in brackley this morning.
Usual routine today , although yesterday I could have gone to a funeral service of a local musician Bernie Marsden of Whitesnake fame, it would have meant standing outside the church in Buckingham to hear the service , whilst special guests went into the church .
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning, it’s mild and sunny out now , after a blowy rainy night
Nothing planned for today , I need the rest after trailing round the shops
We needed replacement bulbs for outside lights , seems there is no bulb ! We had to buy two new ones , but we got good advice and the phone number of an electro toon who will fit them
Then off for coffee , the cafe was closed ! Note in the door apologising , I hope it doesn’t close again , I know it’s hard to get staff here , it has been closed for a year but reopened to great delight from the locals
Off we went to another Village where we got coffee , a new wipeable tablecloth and groceries in an independant supermarket . I got a couple of made on the premises ready meals , so that’s less thinking about food this week
Candle is lit prayers offered for us all

Good morning all from Glasgow. No rain at present, sun trying to break though bodes well for a repeat of yesterday’s mild sunny weather.

A chance to potter in the garden at my own pace plus a ruthless clear out of clothes to bag up and take to the charity shop.

I am sorry to hear your Mum is now refusing food or fluids GB. My DM did this too when she decided enough was enough but it’s painfully sad at this stage. Look after yourself.

A short lived hope as it is now raining.

Kind thoughts and gentle hugs to all who need them.

One or two grans have mentioned the anniversary of the death of a parent today. My father died today in 1978. He was only 48. I think of him nearly every day and know he would have been a brilliant granddad and great-granddad.

All the best, grandmabatty. I hope your mum remains comfortable and peaceful flowers

Grammaretto Tue 26-Sept-23 09:27:52

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Mild and dry.
Another poor sleep but I had a morning sleep so should keep going. I went out to look for the Northern Lights which were seen here the night before but I saw only mist and street lights.

I've enrolled on a Gaelic course. Real life this time, not zoom. I'm a bit anxious despite my course on Skye and the Duolingo. I just do not possess a good ear for languages or music. mother told me I was tone deaf

Yesterday I cleared the green house and picked the last remnants. I also booked a couple of journeys including going north to see the wee DGC whose teachers are striking this week.
So sorry your mum has given up grandmabatty I hope it's temporary.

Well done all the dancing DGC.
Hugs for Marydoll and any others who could do with one.
Here is yesterday's crop

Marydoll Tue 26-Sept-23 09:18:01

Bluesapphire, my neighbours are used to me wandering out to the garage in my jammies late at night. I have no shame!

Blossoming Tue 26-Sept-23 09:17:39

Good morning Mick and all from cloudy windy Lancashire where it is currently 14°C.

Thank you for your kind words and messages, they mean a lot. Yesterday was a much better day and today will be also.

Look after yourselves 🌹

Good morning from dull and damp South Lanarkshire.

I’ve just woken, I must have fallen asleep around 7.30 am after a sleepless night.

Stilllearning, my last day is Saturday but I’m not back in till then, thanks for your good wishes.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from a cool & dull Sefton. Hopefully it will brighten up later as I have just put washing out. There is a gentle breeze🤞. Lots of squadrons of geese flying over here too Gingster. They are usually on their way to a big wetlands reserve not far from here.
U3A this morning, then a visit to the fish man & a small food shop. Will try to get tidying the garden this afternoon. It is a small garden but the "tidying" seems endless.
I am enjoying Matt. He gets right to the point doesn't he. Thank you Urms.
Take care all.

Good morning from a dark west Yorkshire. Grandmabatty sorry to hear about your mum, when nursing it happened frequently eating and drinking is the only thing they have control of .Ekwa your cruise sounds good.Looks like we are in for a storm it's just started thundering and lightening
accompanied with heavy rain.

BlueSapphire Tue 26-Sept-23 08:56:12

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, showers forecast this morning, but supposed to clear up after lunch.

What a lovely sunny day yesterday! Went to yoga, got some washing done and dried, cut the back grass in the afternoon. Sorted out some clothes for a charity collection today.

Marydoll I had just read your post about sorting out stuff for charity, when I remembered I hadn't put the bags out! Cue a rush to pick the sacks up, and put them outside; and in my dressing-gown! Hope no-one was looking out of their windows.....

A morning of pottering, then out for a health walk after lunch if the rain has stopped. Must also call into the paper shop on the way home to pay my bill.
Home-made Bolognese from the freezer for dinner tonight.

Wishing all a pleasant Tuesday.

Stilllearning Tue 26-Sept-23 08:42:56

Good morning from Giffnock where I’m on childminding duties because of the school strikes. They have to ‘log on’ at nine o’clock but we’ll see, I’m not going to fight about it.

EkwaNimitee your cruise sounds amazing, really interesting. Good company must have been the icing on the cake.

Matt is so on point Urms and is a nice way to feel we’re keeping in touch. I hope you know how you are both constantly in our thoughts.

baubles I can’t remembered which day at work this week is your last, but happy retirement when it comes, time to just do as you please.

Better get started here, best wishes to all.

Beechnut Tue 26-Sept-23 08:39:42

Good morning everyone from Severnside where we have grey clouds.

I decided not to go swimming this morning and have a lie in. I was up early yesterday as my car developed a fault on Sunday and I took it to the garage. They said they could mend it and returned it to me at home time.

I shall do some homeworking and pottering today.
Sad news about your mum Grandmabatty.

We have spent many happy hours in and around Poole cornergran. Give it a wave from me 👋
Best wishes to all 🌺☔️

Jaxjacky Tue 26-Sept-23 08:29:56

Morning from a damp S Hants, overnight rain. Yesterday was quite busy on the voluntary phone, stragglers to sort today and my stats. Quiz was quiet, a few on holiday, but fun as usual.
Good news on your hip Ash. Fingers crossed for your sister WW.
Holiday sounds magical Ekwa.
Green garden bin is full, must remember to drag it out.
Enjoy your day 🦩🦩

Foxygloves Tue 26-Sept-23 08:19:45

Good morning all from Foxyland where it felt like a fine drizzle when the Foxyhound went out earlier. Yet forecast to reach 21C by this afternoon. Confusing.
A quiet day for me, things to post, I suppose ironing to do as the sunny weather prompted me to do more washing, and maybe a quick “top up” shop. Every week I look at my freezer (full) and vow not to shop again until it is at least half empty but I never feel like eating what’s there. confused
With kind thoughts to all with worries, or who are in pain or caring for loved ones, I hope you all have as pleasant a day as life permits.

GrannySomerset Tue 26-Sept-23 08:15:43

Laundry and the supermarket the main activities for today plus must plan what is to go into various pots which the gardener emptied yesterday. Shan’t do quite as many as previous years but I do love the early signs of spring in the dark days of February and March, and the planning is enjoyable.

hollysteers Tue 26-Sept-23 08:13:31

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Enjoyed the sing a round yesterday but it was a small turn out so I had to scrape the barrel for more songs than I had planned. Good guitarists as usual.
Then I did a ‘big’ shop as after my holiday the cupboard was bare. I do hate large supermarkets and keep away from them as much as possible.
Music club this afternoon and I’m on the desk in charge. Must remind myself of everyone’s name, having missed so many weeks.
Terrible cramp last night, watching tv then through the night, even with magnesium spray, Indian tonic water and I take extra magnesium. Maybe it’s my statins…

Thoughts to GM, hope you feel better today LLFL and thoughts to all with troubles 🌹

Taichinan Tue 26-Sept-23 08:12:14

Good morning Mick and everyone. After a glorious day yesterday today looks a bit like 'more of the same' - except for the rain forecast for later.
Happy Birthday to your mum Susan.
So sorry to hear about your mum, Grandmabatty. My mum did the same when she sensed her health deteriorating and 'didn't want to be a burden'. It's very sad - and also very brave I think. Thinking of you 🫂
Well done with all that driving Cornergran! Enjoy your break away - it's well-deserved.
What an unwelcome shock for your DD karma.
Tai chi this morning for me followed by the usual shopping trip and relaxing afternoon. The To Do list has been completed! The last item on it was "make a To Do list" 😉
Have a lovely day x

EkwaNimitee Tue 26-Sept-23 08:11:57

Good morning Mick and everyone from bright but cool Carlisle.
Definitely warmer and drier than where I've just returned from, a cruise round Alaskan and Canadian coasts from Nome to Vancouver, visiting little communities and looking for wildlife. The ship wasn't full, only 300 of us, mostly Brits but 18 different nationalities and a pleasant lot they all were. I can't say I'm glad to be back to cooking and cleaning!
I was like a zombie on Sunday having arrived from a long overnight flight and yesterday morning I woke to find my hotel bed gently rocking, all fine today though.
I'll finish sorting out my belongings today and planning some weight loss action, the food on board was just too good!
I did spend part of the afternoon having a clear out in the garden, the warm sunny weather was too good to miss. I managed to fill my garden bin so now to order some spring bulbs and get some winter bedding plants in.

I wish you all the best possible day.

Alygran Tue 26-Sept-23 08:10:12

Good morning from North Yorkshire. The sun is trying to shine and it’s very windy.
The village walk yesterday was lovely and I came back and did some gardening. Lawns cut, some sprawly dahlias cut back and some general tidying up.
Today I’m off to town to pick up the tickets for my Palma trip next month and to do a bit of food shopping. Coffee with a friend first and book club later.
Wishing you all a good day.

Greyduster Tue 26-Sept-23 08:07:49

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a damp South Yorkshire. Yesterday I swam for an hour in the morning, made a batch of bolognese sauce, portioned it up and now have to work out how I’m going to get into the freezer!! I also cleared out the last of the tomato plants, and other “on its last legs” stuff, and had a general tidy round the patio. DS phoned for a chat at teatime.
I don’t know what’s on the agenda today, other than putting petrol in the car - it will be weather dependent.
Have the best day you can, folks.

harrigran Tue 26-Sept-23 08:03:25

Good morning from an overcast but dry NE.
Yesterday was a day of rest after my Sunday vaccinations, I slept on the sofa all afternoon but felt much better after.
I put a review on FB for the restaurant I was disappointed with and was surprised when they replied with an apology.
Today I need to do some housework and tidy cupboards.
Thoughts are with poorly people.

brook2704 Tue 26-Sept-23 08:02:05

Good morning everyone from a wet and windy Inverness
Our journey home yesterday was good, everything was on time and we were home late evening. But it took us just as long to travel from Edinburgh to Inverness as it did from Basel to Edinburgh. We enjoy living up here but a definite downside is the limited travel options from Inverness airport!
Sounds like a very busy cooking day GG13 good for you in getting so well prepared ahead of time. I bet your house will smell lovely
Today I’ll be staying home, I’m quite busy today as this afternoon I’ve got another volunteering session, a virtual clinic on zoom and I’ve got to learn my scenario before then. Also I’ll need to get the holiday washing done and repacked as I’m off to visit DD1 in Cambridge on Thursday 😀
Good luck with your interview Mizuna
Beautiful pictures grandmadinosaur
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

luluaugust Tue 26-Sept-23 07:55:59

Good morning from a cloudy W Kent. DF coming for coffee this morning and a quiet afternoon.
So sorry to hear your news Grandmabatty
Your day sounds interesting Mizuna
Best wishes to all

Good morning all from the Black country still quite dark here, yesterday was a lovely day bedding washed and dried a treat.
Perhaps some housework today and I still have another wardrobe that needs decluttering.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.
