Greetings from sunny Kent! Marydoll Happy anniversary to you and MrMD! I have vivid memories of that weekend. I had been in an ante-natal ward for 9 weeks and had my baby on that Sunday (2/10). Can’t believe it’s 46 years ago. I really hope you have enough energy to celebrate. I am still very much housebound due to (permanent) balance issues. It’s so frustrating. I have however read 130 books so far this year (watching tv sets me off!). I still lurk on Gransnet most days, I just don’t have anything very interesting to report

Today is the Autumn steam gala at the railway museum. The car park opposite our house is full and there are people trackside waiting to take photos. I am watching from my window. I love to see the former working engines and wagons, a lot of history there.

Good morning all from a supposed to be sunny but actually very grey Angus coast.
What an absolutely perfect day I had yesterday, and many thanks to you all for the birthday wishes. The restaurant did a taster menu yesterday and I was in absolute awe of the skill and work that went into each tiny course! We opted for six courses (photo attached) and we were absolutely full up by the end. Quite an experience. I love watching MasterChef and could just imagine the behind-the-scenes kitchen yesterday!
After her last uni class, DGD3 decided to walk across the Tay Bridge to join us - a four mile marathon in all and no mean feat in the blustery wind that was blowing. Her reward was a glass of coke and little tastes from our dishes! And of course precious time with her Nanny 😉
We then drove up to mine where DancingGD and friend were waiting by this time, and sent out for pizzas for the students before the birthday cake ceremony. What a day!
What busy busy lives you all are leading! Mizuna I'm sure your allotment coffee morning will be fun, and Baubles enjoy your meal out at the start of your retirement proper - every best wish for a lovely future.

Good morning everyone from another bright and sunny 🌞Northampton, boding well for my rugby match this afternoon; just wondering whether to wear a long or short sleeved team shirt.

Had a good trip to the shops.yesterday, finding everything on my list, and still coming home with more than that! Met a friend and had a chat.

Should have been at a concert last night with said friend (the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra), but unfortunately the theatre is closed due to having the RAAC concrete somewhere in its structure. The concert is now postponed until 2025! So I think I will go for a refund.....

Rugby this afternoon where I shall catch up with DD and DS-in-law; (we sit next to each other). Then home to a hotpot, and more world cup rugby on TV. Felt really sorry for Italy last night...

Good morning from a chilly Co Armagh , it’s 11 outside but 22 in here , we haven’t put the heating on yet
Hoping to get a new flower border dug out of the grass today , we have bushes that need a home
The grass isn’t great and causes moans and groans when it needs mown
Third Daughter had plans to come and take me off to an hotel , but finding one handy , with a pool for the Granddaughters was proving difficult so I am now having house guests at half term , we will do day trips and eat out

Good morning Mick and everyone from a rather grey Carlisle.

I finished off my ironing yesterday and ploughed on with my photo editing and organising, Still a long way to go on that so I shall pursue it today.
I was planning to get out of the house and go somewhere, probably the garden centre but my chest infection is making me feel somewhat unwell again. Best to stay in the warm I think, though I'm beginning to get cabin fever!

Enjoy retirement Baubles, I'm sure you'll make the best use of it.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It will probably rain later

It's the last weekend of the open studios mine and our arts festival. I was at a lovely concert last night and another tonight. Such talented people about.

I was in Edinburgh yesterday so took the opportunity to do some shopping. Lakeland a heavy frying pan and moth deterrents and TKMax bargains. Laden, I went to the bus station to find our town was closed due to the army having a march through.

Undeterred, I took the bus anyway and asked to be dropped at the nearest stop. I then had a 2 mile walk home.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. The temperature dropped to 10° overnight meaning that I slept well. That and the fact that I was up chatting with DS until midnight. 19° and sunny is today's forecast.
I have to top up at Aldi but otherwise a quiet weekend.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a brightening but cool South Yorkshire. I have to get a shift on this morning because DS and DiL are coming down for lunch, and I have a flu jab booked at 10.44. He didn’t tell me until teatime yesterday that they were coming. I hope the sun stays out long enough to have a short walk before they go home - and to warm the conservatory a bit!
