Always write shopping lists and birthdays cards. Wrote to John Lewis credit card company yesterday asking for a higher limit, they halved it when they took over from previous company. According to Experian my credit rating is the best you can have.

Almost daily
Diary, notes from marking, comments on children’s, work, and notes on cards. I don’t write lengthy letters much any more though.

I write lists and memory joggers. Apart from that just birthday/Christmas cards

Earlier today, diary, then notebook of things to do this week and rough menu for the week.

Daily - I have a Diary. Kept one for years, but these days there’s not much to write about. Went shopping, went shopping , went shopping 😂

I only write cards nowadays.

I keep a notebook for occasional thoughts and quotations, poems etc. My handwriting is not what it was but at least I can still do it!

I treasure a cache of letters to and from late DH which form a wonderful snapshot of the people we once were and which I hope DGD will one day value.

I write all the time.
My memory is shocking, and if I dont write things down, I just forget.

i wrote to a friend a couple of weeks ago in response to her letter to me.
I am always writing shopping and to do lists and i also wrote letter to my GP about medication as it had to be written not phoned in.
Yes my writing is not what it use to be sadly.

I write regularly in my gratitude diary, corny I know😁 Three or more things I’m grateful for. I have always written poetry and keep a special book for that. Regular postcards to family, I enjoy writing them and prefer writing to the telephone. I’m in the wrong age…
Written lists, as if a note is made on my phone, somehow it’s not real and Im likely to forget it.

I last wrote about two minutes ago. I keep a daily diary/notebook. Not events so much as thoughts.

I write daily and sometimes with a fountain pen in my journal.

Serendipity22 Sun 01-Oct-23 14:38:59

I would say in a week i write about 3 times...always notes, (shopping).
I had a friend who corresponded via letter .... he was 90 years old and didnt own a mobile phone. When my husband and myself went to visit him in Torquay while we were on holiday, he showed me to q drawer in his cabinet which had allll the letters i had written him. He loved to receive a letter. He passed away 2 years ago and now i do not write to anyone because everyone uses text, WhatsApp, Messenger or whatever.

With a pen or pencil? Most everyday. I love lists.
On the computer, I write three to four hours a day.

M0nica Sun 01-Oct-23 14:19:11

Daily, making notes, lists, drawing diagrams.

Letters less frequently. I have a friend, who after a lifetime designing and implementing computer systems in the defence industry and air traffic control, has gone cold tukey in retirement. She has a mobile phone, I am not sure it is even a smart phone, butno computer, tablet, ipad or anything else, so I now have to write to her.

I write a letter a few times a year to an elderly friend and I notice a deterioration in my handwriting each time. Presumably lack of practise and aging. I don’t feel as bad when she writes back and her handwriting looks as spidery as mine 😄

Thinking about it, most of the writing I do these days is in greetings cards or on shopping and ‘to do’ lists. We do pub quizzes once or twice a week, and I’m usually the one writing down the answers, all in capitals though so the marker can read it. I can’t remember the last time I wrote a proper letter. We always send postcards to the grandsons when we go away though - they like the novelty of something addressed to them dropping through the letter.box. It does always seem strange to be actually using my handwriting!

I write most days. My husband refuses to use his mobile phone for anything other than calls and the occasional text message and photo. I write him shopping lists, and write down any messages received via phone calls when he's out.
I must also write a birthday card for grandson 1 who is 15 today.

As I was searching for a pen ( kitchen drawer, where else!), I struggled to remember the last time I wrote anything. It was a letter to a friend whose wife had died, and I wrote it over a week ago.
I have one friend I write to, but otherwise it’s emails or media messages.
