Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey, showery and windy. Yesterday was quite sunny and mild so I enjoyed gardening in the afternoon
Hope you get through to the doctors ok Susan and they can help sort something out
How frustrating roses hope you have a better day today
Today I’m going to the gym first thing then coffee and a catch up with my pal afterwards. Later on we’re picking up the DGC from school and looking after them all evening as DD2 and SiL are out tonight. There’s after school activities and homework etc to sort out apart from feeding them sometime in between so we’ll be busy - just hope they behave!
Hope you quickly recover from Covid nannyJan and your DH doesn’t get it
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Morning all, I think we have showers forecast.

Feel a bit groggy I took a sleeping aid last night, I desperately needed a good long sleep.

Today it’s bed changing then down the road for a manicure. Plans for the afternoon are to prep onion’s for pickling and then sort ingredients for chutney.

Have a good day folks 🦩🙋‍♀️

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 12°C.
I'm another who has had a very disturbed night, I was still trying to get to sleep at 3am.

Good news about your DD, Harri and I hope OldD has a safe journey.
LLFL, the last time I had cellulitis, I was in Seville, where it was 40°C. When my GP saw my legs, he was shocked and said I was very lucky I hadn't contracted sepsis. Please take the antibiotics or see your GP, when you get home for different ones.
Susan and NannyJ 💐
Grandmabatty, Thinking of you.* 💐

Yesterday, I was met with such kindness at the dentist's. Just as I was explaining to the dentist that I had to avoid any infection in the mouth, DH arrived back from the golf. The receptionist asked if I could come right away. There was no way I could have driven, so DH had to do an about turn and head straight back out.
As usual nothing is simple, but the dentist patched everything up, until I can cope with yet an another crown procedure.
My teeth are not decayed, just very fragile due to all the my conditions and the meds I'm on. It seems that the filling I got last month had put pressure on the tooth beside it and it just cracked.

Unfortunately the cardiology secretary wasn't answering her phone yesterday, so I will try again today. I'm find all this so debilitating and frustrating. I have a life to lead!!
Another day of being able to do much, I still feel quite unwell, but thankfully the feeling of suffocating is easing.

I wish you all a pleasant day and hugs for all the poorlies.

Good morning from a grey W Kent. Yesterday’s U3A meet up was very interesting with a visit to a 12th century church in the middle of nowhere that is now used for civil ceremonies.
Meeting a friend this morning who is worried about a small GD who just can’t get to grips with reading, lots of tests being done. Hair cut later.
Very best to all

Marydoll Tue 03-Oct-23 08:11:25

Baubles, I can empathise with your poor DH. I had to explain to the dentist yesterday, that I did not have Covid, because I cough non stop. It is exhausting and so embarrassing!
I hope you get to the bottom of it soon.

Good morning from cloudy Colchester. A bit of overnight rain but none in today's forecast and 18° high.
I need to refill my bird feeder as there is a queue this morning.
Tuesday is charity shop volunteering day and DH has a consultant appointment this evening for the results of his MRI.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning from a dry grey Suffolk after torrential rain last night which lasted only for 30 minutes or so.

I shall be flying to India 2 weeks today with a very dear friend who I’ve known for over 50 years. I spent a year as a volunteer with VSO in 1969/70 and we are going to some places like Shimla and Dharamsala in the Himalayas where I’ve been before and others like Amritsar which I haven’t.

Jabs done, visa obtained and my excitement increasing. Today,by contrast,is a quiet one with a walk with our dog shortly and then an ever growing pile of ironing has my name on it.

Good morning Mick and all from another sunny morning on the Angus coast.
Lovely photos Scapa and those conical roofs are so unusual. Do you know anything about their history?
Safe journey to chez lui to Olddudders - not long to November Ash.
Harrigran it must have been worrying for everyone, waiting for DD's results but I hope you can take heart from Susan's message.
And Susan, I'm sorry your cyst is causing problems again and hope something can be done quickly.
DS1 warned me yesterday that DPD would be delivering a small package for me. (He's the boy who never forgets anyone's birthday - just doesn't remember them at the right time 😂). Anyway he then texted me to say they had been left at my front door, so off I trotted to find not one but two large boxes of flowers. I opened the first one, lovely autumn blooms, and found the card saying they had come from him. The second box, from a different company, also had a card but no sender's name, and contained a beautiful bouquet of roses! Checked with DS, but he hadn't sent them and I really couldn't think who might have. (I'm a bit old for a secret admirer, although the idea was appealing 😂.) To cut a long story short, it turns out they were from my niece who is not unlike DS1 when it comes to dates and times - but there was a hilarious couple of hours of speculation before the mystery was solved.
Now back down to earth and the usual Tuesday routine of tai chi and fish shop.
Have a good day everyone x

Morning from sunny S Hants, we had a thunderstorm yesterday afternoon with a short but hefty shower. It was a busy day with the volunteer phone line then a fun quiz. Today is covid jabs for us both and flu for MrJ, some boring housework needs doing too I suppose!

Gingster Tue 03-Oct-23 08:30:49

Good morning all and it’s a late one for me. A very unsettled night with sore arms courtesy ofCovid and Flu jabs. I went to the chemist for my eye drops and was asked if I would like my jabs there and then. Yes please. I feel ok but just sore. Also workers at the station nearby we quite noisy at times. I read for an hour and then , of course, slept in.😤.

I’m off to see a friend for coffee and then Bridge club this afternoon.

Rose how frustrating for you.
Harrigran better news for you.
Lovely photos Scapel what unusual houses.
Poor you Susan - hope you get seen soon.

We had an almighty downpour around teatime last night. It sounded like a jet plane going over. Didn’t last long but drizzled for a while. Today is due to be fine again. ☀️.

Best wishes to you all 🌻

BlueSapphire Tue 03-Oct-23 08:31:20

Whitewave before I forget, have you tried tinned pureed pumpkin for your dog? When my DD's German Shepherd had similar problems, that's what the vet recommended. They mixed it with her usual dried kibble, and it seemed to do the trick.

Alygran Tue 03-Oct-23 08:37:28

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Lots of rain overnight but keeping my fingers crossed for a dry day.
I had both Covid and flu jabs yesterday so have two achy arms.
This morning I’m going to tackle the quarterly accounts for the charity then if it says fair I may renew my arboretum annual pass and go for a walk there. The tres are just starting to change colour.
Have a good day everyone.

Kalu Tue 03-Oct-23 08:54:45

Good morning all from a drizzly Glasgow where the sun is trying to break through, I live in hope.

I had a productive day yesterday, bed changes done, bed linen washed and hung out to dry on a breezy sunny day. Topiary shrubs and straggly ivy tidied up too. We have had so many wet days and whenever it is dry I try to catch up in one day when I inevitably overdo it. I slept like a log last night.

Have a pleasant day all and kind thoughts to those with worries and sadness.

BlueSapphire Tue 03-Oct-23 08:56:15

And a very good morning to everyone from a surprisingly bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton. We had a terrific thunderstorm yesterday evening, and torrential rain for a couple of hours; I used to be frightened of thunderstorms when I was a child, but after living in Singapore and Northern Australia for a few years, they no longer worry me.

A good Yoga class yesterday, then home.where, duster,.polish and Hoover to hand, I tackled the dust and cat fur lurking in my sitting and dining rooms. Re-arranged a few bits and pieces, and found shelf space for a pile of books.
Then put together an enormous spicy mince in the slow cooker; was delicious , and when I portioned it out there was enough for 6 meals! Must.get them in the freezer this morning.
Spent the afternoon reading my new book, nearly halfway through now. It seems to be an easy read.

Pottering this morning and health walk this afternoon; we'll keep to hard surfaces I think as the grass will be soggy after last night's rain.

My thoughts are with all suffering aches and pains, and other worries. Have the best day you can.

Jacs7 Tue 03-Oct-23 08:58:40

Good morning everyone from a grey and drizzly north Kent coast.

Nothing much planned today except to walk into town for our flu vaccine from the pharmacy. Covid booked for Saturday. Then might go through our itinerary with DH for our holiday in January. Most things are done; waiting to hear back from the GP surgery about a letter of exception for yellow fever as we are deemed to be at risk from the vaccine.

Hope those unwell start to feel a bit better; I found after a recent bout of covid that it takes about a month before the feelings of fatigue start to lift.

Safe journeys for those travelling. Hope you all have a good day.

Grammaretto Tue 03-Oct-23 08:58:45

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Another nice day. I have 2 visitors today. One is a cousin of DH who wants to discuss family history (his) another is my old school friend whom I rarely see. I didn't mean them to come at the same time so I hope they get on
Where's my social secretary gone!
I also have a chiropractor appointment in 20 mins.
Gaelic class this evening. We all have to write a paragraph for homework.

Ash it is almost a weekly commute for you and DH. It must feel like your own ferry.

I am glad you seem to be getting back to normal Mick but waking up very early.
Not so good for Marydoll or for roses
Sending good wishes.

How proud you must be of Iris, gMattie

Have the best day you can everyone.

hollysteers Tue 03-Oct-23 08:59:49

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny Isle of Man with DD and DS. Nice day yesterday as we took the steam train into Douglas (not. My favourite place on the island) and I get as excited as an eight year old, seeing all the pretty little stations on the way and feel like something out of the Railway Children. We spent time walking around Douglas and DD could tell from her new fangled watch that I had done more than the maximum steps for the day.
I’m about to enjoy a full English breakfast and then on the electric railway up to Ramsey. Haven’t spotted DS yet but think he may give another railway venture a miss…
Thank you for you kind thoughts yesterday and thinking of all those with troubles 🌺

Kalu Tue 03-Oct-23 09:03:17

I will add another tip for you WW whenever one of our dogs had upset stomachs I only fed them white boiled rice until things settled.

GrannySomerset Tue 03-Oct-23 09:05:00

Supermarket visit will be today’s highlight but after a couple of quite busy days I am happy to do not much. I so mourn the energy I used to have and didn’t appreciate nearly enough, but doubt if I am unusual in this.

So sorry Marydoll is struggling but glad she has a kind and sympathetic dentist - makes such a difference. Hope Olddudders has a good journey back to France and that everyone’s plans work well.

EkwaNimitee Tue 03-Oct-23 09:09:43

Good Morning Mick and everyone from currently sunny Carlisle where showers may or may not happen later.

I progressed the housework and laundry yesterday and there will be more of the same today, I'm already wishing I was still on my cruise with none of this stuff to bother about!
I'd like to get out in the garden and do a bit of tidying up if the weather permits, my chest infection seems to be clearing up hopefully.

My thoughts are with all of you with health problems, your own or your loved ones. These are challenging times for getting things sorted out health-wise.

And have a good day everyone.

Georgesgran Tue 03-Oct-23 09:28:46

Whitewave I’d follow the bland rice suggestion, but you can also buy kaolin mix for dogs to ‘dry things up’.

aggie Tue 03-Oct-23 09:34:58

Good morning from a bright cold breezy Co Armagh
I haven’t put the heating on yet , but it might go on after the expected warm week end coming up
Daughter and Granddaughters are visiting from Edinburgh soon , they never feel the cold ,
I’ve stripped the last of the leaves off the tomatoes in the greenhouse but leaving the fruits to ripen , I used to bring in the vines and hang them up in the kitchen to ripen , but no space here
Wishing everyone the best day possible 🙏🏼🕯️

ginny Tue 03-Oct-23 09:36:18

Good morning from a sunny N. Bucks.
Haven’t posted for a few days as I haven’t done much but potter at home. Tomorrow I am having my hip op’ so have kept away from my groups and clubs or busy places just as a precaution.
Today I shall make sure I have every for admission.
This afternoon I will be supervising DH in the garden. Just a few bulbs and winter pansies to plant.
Gentle thoughts to all in pain or troubled in any way and a good day wished for all.

Georgesgran Tue 03-Oct-23 10:04:01

🤞🍀*Ginny*. Hope your op goes to plan and a successful outcome.

aggie Tue 03-Oct-23 10:04:13

Good luck ginny
