Scents you like that other people find odd and vice versa.

I’ll start with I hate the perfumed fabric conditioners and love the smell of real cigarettes. My daughter doesn’t like the smell of freshly cut grass and likes the smell of petrol.

I love the smell of thick black grease on large vehicles. It reminds me of my dad!
I like the smell of swarfega, for the same reason.
I don't mind lavender as long as it isn't piled on, like some people seem to do!
I love White Musk, especially from The Body Shop.
I quite like Anais Anais, but unfortunately it makes me lose my voice - my voice goes dry and raspy if it's sprayed near me or I smell it on someone who has recently put it on!
I love the smell of lilac on the trees, and of freesias.
Freshly baked bread is lush, and passing through shops/markets with fresh coffee beans 🫘 is amazing, though I don't drink coffee 😂
The fresh morning smell, particularly after it has rained!

I know I shouldn't but I love the smell of glue(like Bostic )
I am surprised I never became a glue sniffer!
When I am at work at the supermarket, we have a Timpson*s she unit and sometimes when he is using a certain glue I do sniff the air.

Methylated spirits make me yuk!

I love the smell of spirit glue too. I like the smell of newly laid carpets but I don't know what it is.

Gin smells nice but I find the taste disgusting. I like the stale beer smells some pubs have but I don't like beer.

I used to like the smell of some pipe tobacco but I hate the smell of fags.

I find the smell of bonfires very evocative as I lived with my grandmother who was a pyromaniac with a very big garden so she lit a bonfire nearly every day.

I love the smell of aviation fuel at airports, woodsmoke, hoof oil, seaweed and ambre solaire oil.
Hate cigarette smoke, beer, diesel fumes, youth dew and all chemical detergents and " air fresheners".

I absolutely love the smell of petrol too

In WW11, my grandmother took in an evacuee, a boy. One day in the first week he was there, she couldn’t find him. When he been gone for a couple of hours, she rallied some villagers as a search party. They eventually found him lying under a petrol pump in the village, breathing in the smell which he apparently loved. He was quite woozy by the time they found him.
When I was pregnant, I was addicted to the smell of Dettol. (I don’t care if ‘other disinfectants are available’, only Dettol would do for me). My house smelt like a hospital for months and was at its cleanest!

Love the smell of new books...
Cut grass
Nag Champa incense
Cigars
My dog
Tarmac...reminds me of my childhood
Stables and horses

You reminded me of Nag Champa, thank you! When my late husband and I had a holiday cottage in France, about 20 years ago, we discovered it in a local shop and brought some to bring back to the UK. It always reminded me of our happy holidays. My husband has since died, five years ago, but I have been able just lately to burn the incense sticks without sobbing. Now I remember the happy times. I so wish I could turn the clock back.

I love the smell of new tyres

I can’t smell anything much but dislike jasmine and barbecues.
I can remember the scent of lilac and lily of the valley, lemons and pipe smoke. Unfortunately I can’t smell gas or smoke but fortunately not my dog’s breath or the cats’ litter trays.

I like pipe smoke (reminds me of Dad), petrol, and love the smell of horses & cows. And babies. Absolutely hate the smell of cannabis.

Like the smell of burnt matches, wet cement & chalk rubbers, the ones we used on black boards at school.
Love smell of Neom but can’t use my diffuser as my husband says it smells of an old folks home.
