I thought it was very kind if your friend, just as I thought my neighbour was kind.

Aveline, you have totally misunderstood my post.
I haven't been out of the house in weeks (no treats in the house) and although Galaxy Gold wouldn't have been my first choice (I would rather have the Lindt), I was grateful that someone showed me some kindness. That is what I meant by any port in a storm.

Why one earth would I want to be one up? That is quite a strange and inappropriate comment on this lovely, positive thread.

To elaborate, it is quite common for my lovely neighbours and myself to pop a treat through the letterbox.

Today I went to my craft group and 10 other ladies turned up. We had a very happy time making Christmas gonks and eating cake - it was someone's birthday and she'd make a gorgeous fresh cream cake.

Marydoll I doubt if anyone else thought you were playing one-upmanship. It didn't come across like that to me. No-one has given me any chocolate at all so I'm glad for both you and Aveline! I have bought myself some though! 😆

Had lovely cuddle with 6yr Gs he is a very good cuddler.
Have managed quite as lot of jobs with very little pain😆

My two neighbours and I do this all the time. It is not always chocolate, sometimes it is magazines, they have finished reading. On a few occasions, its been trout from the local dam.
If I make tablet or chocolate macaroon bars, I always post a bag through their letter box.
It is just they way they are.
My neighbour realised my car hadn't moved for weeks, so realised I must be unwell.

My oldest son is autistic and went to a special school. He is unable to do paid work but does supported voluntary unpaid work. The DWP thought otherwise, however, and expected him to have regular appointments and look for work. With help, he ended up having to go to a tribunal, which was very stressful as can be imagined. Thankfully, this week he won the tribunal.

Babysitting our youngest granddaughter, overnight. Her chubby legs, gurgles and smiles always cheer me up

A lovely afternoon spent with 3 grandchildren. Wondrous Wolfie is 5 today.

We have finished putting the kitchen back together so the dining room looks presentable after having all the kitchen contents stored there.

And we are having a pizza delivered any time now!

Two friends turned up for a visit and to check how I was.
A lovely message from the sewing group hoping my recovery is going well.
A fall about laugh with DH in connection with the blood thinning injections he has been doing for me.
Managed to walk around the house without crutches , a bit wobbly but progress.
A Good Day. !

And on my beach walk today, the sun keeps giving through the fluffy clouds.

simple pleasure, all it took was someone to tell me that I could ask alexa to play various radio stations on the bose soundbar in my living room.

Old bose radio now transferred to ktchen from living room and my very old ipad on a very old bose sound dock is now in my living room and suddenly I am able to access the hundreds of old music tracks on my ipod. All genres and types

Lovely happy sounds including those which make me feel like dancing and nostalgic for all those parties in the late 60s. Beyond uplifting today

DH is cooking. I have a glass of chilled rose and am watching Strictly.

A friend came to collect me for a cup of tea and a change of scene.

After a cup of coffee with my neighbour the sun was shining so I drove to a local park and managed to walk all the way around it. There were children on the swings and older children in the skate park and lots of people walking their dogs. It was just all so lovely.

Went to Farmers’ Market for the first tome in over 3 years. Took my 4 wheel rollator. Several kind people helped me on and off buses. Cooking lunch tomorrow for a neighbour and her daughter. A surprise late bud has appeared on my Geoffrey Hamilton rose. Enjoyed a chocolate brownie from the market.

I decided I should give my central heating a test run yesterday. It worked, properly worked, without any tweaks. Another happy moment

I had my two back tyres looked at in a tyre garage yesterday after mot said to watch. Real honesty again, `they are fine` he said, `come back in a month and I will look again to reassure you` Honest genuine people make me happy

A few weeks ago I filled my car, eight miles from home. No purse and I was so upset, the owner said `look don`t worry, you have an honest face, go home and then come back and don`t stress` That was a huge uplift and I shared my happiness with a lot of people that day

A surprise call from a Gransnetter yesterday really lifted my spirits. 💕
