A happy positive thread πŸ˜ƒ

Everywhere there is bad news be it in the world or at home, in families or within our own 4 walls, its worrying, its sad, its heartbreaking and its beyond our understanding so to lift the dark, depressing and worrying feelings we have I have decided to start an uplifting πŸ˜ƒ, happy πŸ˜ƒ, joyful πŸ˜ƒ and POSITIVE πŸ˜ƒ thread......

Toooooo much negativity πŸ˜ͺ everywhere we look and causes anxiety because there is nothing we can do about some situations. We need to let happy, joy and positive feelings circulate around us, hard I know, but for our OWN sanity we must grab the tiniest bit of positivity as it passes us by.

I will start..... today I have been to see a neighbour who is in a care home and we have had a right laugh and a venture down that wonderful, peaceful Memory Lane 😊 and tomorrow I am picking my 2 youngest grandchild up from school and I have bought them a Curly Whirly each πŸ˜‹ πŸ˜‹ πŸ˜‹ πŸ˜‹ πŸ˜‹ πŸ˜‹ πŸ˜‹.

Nice idea for a threadπŸ˜ƒ

I had the day off today, doesn’t happen often, no work and no child care to do, yippee.

A bit of housework, out to the shops and bought myself a big eclair to have with coffee blush

Had our last day in Oslo today with our son, he said he would miss us when we go tomorrow.
I was really touched he’s fiercely independent having lived abroad since the age of 18 and not very sentimental!

The world does seem in a terrible state at the moment with one thing and another there is no doubt. We can only hope some thing turns the horror around and things improve.

In our space on this world we do all have our own personal worries and we deal with them how we can. My world has been upside down because our daughter has been very unwell for about two years now. She has been on the mend for a few months I have been so desperately worried about her it’s affected my health.

I have been praying for her health to improve literally every day. She has been on the mend for a little while now we recently visited her and could see the improvements. When we returned home I cried with relief and was overwhelmed how it lifted my spirits.

Congratulations to you and your DH, kittylester!

After a very wet weekend it has been a lovely warm and breezy day today and I've got all the washing done and dry. I would normally have done it on Friday, but there didn't seem much point when it was pouring! Washing is my favourite form of housework, so very pleased.

Happy birthday, boheminan!

I got up at eight and fed the cat then went back to bed to read the paper on line. Courier delivered a lovely velvet skirt around coffee time so that's my wear on Christmas Day sorted. Salmon with vegetables and chips for lunch; coffee and walnut cake and a cuppa at three, then toasted sandwich around six. In between, watched an easy to follow Korean mystery on Netflix interspersed with messages from Offspring and friends. Watered the garden, decided what to have for lunch tomorrow and am now enjoying Gransnet. A dull day by other people's standards but I'm ancient, living on borrowed time, and so enjoyed every minute of it.

Lovely thread.

Today is our wedding anniversary and DS2 came round with a lovely card. The other 4 have sent lovely messages.

Sitting in the garden, watching the sea on a beautiful day . I felt blissfully happy, calm and relaxed.

I had my fifth Covid vaccination yesterday but have suffered no side effects at all whereas I had increasingly unpleasant ones after the other four. An odd thing to post, you might say, but I can't believe this one has been trouble free! It's as if my body is saying, "Ah, we know what this is - we've met before!!"

I meant to say I really enjoyed making the jelly. I find making preserves very satisfying.

MiniMoon Tue 10-Oct-23 19:45:36

I spent the afternoon making crab apple jelly with fruit from the tree in our garden. It set beautifully and is a lovely colour. Just in time, as we have almost finished the last jar from last year's harvest.

Today is my birthday. Yesterday I convinced myself no one would remember - how wrong I was. Cards dropped through my door, birthday cake, 2 bouquets of flowers lots of chocolates and phone calls +++ The best present? a birthday card 'signed' by my 18 month old grand daughter. I feel loved.

It's been a good day after all. smile

What a nice thread. We had Thanksgiving this weekend; all the local family came around for dinner. We had 9 around the table, and were chatting about where we were going to put the high chair next year for the newest that is expected!

That was Sunday evening, then Monday I had a nice long chat with daughter down south. They had a nice Thanksgiving dinner with friends that also don't have extended families near them, so I didn't feel too bad about missing them. Happiness all round.

Greyduster Tue 10-Oct-23 19:22:34

I had a surprise visit from a young ex neighbour of ours who was passing and thought to drop by and see if we were still living here and how we were. I was washing my car and wet through when she pulled up, but she came in and we had a coffee and a nice chat. She has asked if she might call again and bring the latest addition to her family to meet me. I’ll look forward to it.

After having them for a while I finally identified and matched up some dies and stamps. Have just mowed my lawn before it got dark.

A lovely spin on my bike down the hill to the shop, and back again through the park. Lots of people out enjoying the sunshine.

Aveline Tue 10-Oct-23 18:55:12

I had a surprise phone call from my uncle today. We had such a long, lovely chat. He's the last of the older generation in our family and was the young, fun uncle in his day. He lives in the South of England so we don't often see him and my aunt. She was at her volunteer job today. I also went to mine and had great chats with some of the patients.

Today DH and I had lunch out with adult grandson. A simple meal accompanied by a beer for him and a glass of wine for each of us but oh the joy of just chatting over the meal with him and then agreeing with the restauranteur that β€œGrandchildren are extra special.”

keepcalmandcavachon Tue 10-Oct-23 18:42:48

Wow foxie48! That is fab, I would love to be so gifted, well done. Feeling so happy as little furry feller has just had a good meal after his visit to the vets today and is curled up next to me watching Virgin River smile

Today, 6 days after my hip op , I walked outside for 20 mins.

I received a lovely plant from the ladies at the craft club that I help to run.

Received a message and pictures of our eldest DGS doing a parachute jump. I just glad he hadn’t told anyone that he was doing it

*Like BlueBelle I was very busy in a charity shop.
We’ve become very friendly with 3 nurses from Mali.
The laugh was about educating them in that it’s not the done thing to barter in the cheapest charity shop around.
It took a while but we got there πŸ˜‚
