Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it's 8°C.

We had a surprise visit from Babydoll, DS and DIL yesterday afternoon on their way back from a funeral. I was feeling pretty low, so it was a great tonic. They had been on holiday and we couldn't believe the change in her, since we last saw her. 😍

I'm waiting for a call back from my GP, I feel quite grim this morning. It's ten days since I started my new meds and there is little improvement.

Have a pleasant day folks.

Good morning from a warm W Kent. Our journey back from Perth turned into an adventure as the train from Perth was cancelled and DD1 had to drive us to Edinburgh to get going. This meant we unexpectedly saw DGS4 which was great.
Lazy day apart from getting the washing going and visit from DF about to go away.
All the best wwm for the op
Best wishes to all

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and dry. There's even some sunshine. GrandMattie your quilt is lovely. Sat great photos. It looks to be an interesting place.
Yesterday was an up and down sort of day. Phonecalls twice from different nurses about mum. She had a very high temperature and was sick. They think she has an infection so were giving her an antibiotic. She now struggles with swallowing so is only taking liquids. It's a gradually downward path. When I visited her at night, she decided not to communicate with me at all. Clearly I had annoyed her. I didn't achieve what I set out to yesterday so that was annoying. However my pal phoned for a very long chat in the afternoon which cheered me up. Then my bin fell over because of high winds, and my neighbour came out to help pick up the plastic which was flying about. She's a lovely person.
Today I'll probably go to the library, but that's all I have in mind. Have a good day all

Good morning from a cloudy N. Bucks. Up , dressed and breakfasted as DH has gone to golf.
FD1 is coming over in a couple of hours and bringing lunch with her. Hopefully she will also accompany me for a walk. Trying to go a little further each day.

Good morning from an overcast Colchester. It's warm with 23° forecast and rain later.
We got home late last night. I've unpacked and the wash is on.
I'll go to the usual Wednesday morning coffee meetup and shop this afternoon. Then catching up with myself for the rest of the week.
Love to all 🦩x

Good morning all and it looks like another lovely one.

We are off back to Essex soon , so will give the dog a quick run along the beach before we go.

DS1 has blisters/burns on his arms after cutting back our fig tree at the weekend. He had gloves and long sleeves on but his wrists must have been uncovered. Very sore and uncomfortable. We feel bad! 😥.

Lovely quilt GM
Nice to see you back Sar - will be in touch.
Hope all goes well Wwm.
GG have you had all your work done?
Love to all with health /general worries.🌻

Good morning from a rainy Black Country. after a lovely sunny few days.

Shingles jab later this morning. Life seems to be one 'jab' after another later, still Covid and Flu jabs to book.

Meal out tonight with a group. There will be 20 of us. A friend of mine started a Coffee Group on FB two years ago, where they meet for lunches, coffee, walks etc. The meal tonight is to celebrate the two year anniversary.

Keeping fingers crossed for youGeorgesgran

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Oof! Good morning all from a grey and much cooler N Bucks
Dinner with the London family last night and niece who by now will be in the air on her way home to Sao Paolo was lively and lovely.
DH’s sisters arrived back on €* at 7.30 and the restaurant (well chosen) was just a 10 minute walk from St P’s where I also got in.
It was past my bedtime by the time I got back though and I have had one of the worst nights I have known for a long time. Every inch from the hips down either ached or cramped (arthritis , muscular pain, PF - the lot) and I was just so glad I had not stayed over because being up and in pain I can cope with in my own home with nobody to see!
Probably got to sleep around 4.30 and I feel a bit “zorsted” today!
Two Zoom courses (Opera in the morning and a film I did not enjoy in the afternoon) then I must make a cake for tomorrows Arts Society where we are having a coffee morning as well as our usual: meeting in aid of our local hospice.
But for now, TIB and another twenty minutes ! 😴😴
Hoping today is kind to you all.

Sago Wed 11-Oct-23 08:33:15

Good morning from our final morning in Oslo.
grandmattie you are very talented, well done!

A bit late to the party this morning as I lay awake half the night then slept heavily from 5 ish.

Yesterday we explored a new district of Oslo, it was the very wealthy area that I cannot spell or pronounce!

A lovely French rugby friend of our son owns a cafe there, so we went for a very delicious lunch, the picture shows an Eiffel Tower he made from chocolate!

We left our son to do some work and to see another rugby friend who is currently in hospital as he is mentally ill and not coping well, he can leave the hospital for a few hours a day.
The care he receives is apparently superb and the Norwegian government match his salary in benefits.

Pack up this morning then brunch and we drop the car off and fly back to Stansted, I hate flying and I hate airports but needs must.

Have a happy day all.

glammagran Wed 11-Oct-23 08:43:45

DD2 (the youngest) is 30 today. I will make her a cake later. The family have clubbed together to buy her a pizza oven.

So happy indeed to hear Urm’s most uplifting news. Long may it continue.

Scapa1 I buy Oatly milk for GS who is intolerant of dairy (hope he grows out of it). He has half of it one week when we look after him and I freeze it when he goes and get the other half out of the freezer the following week. It freezes fine so I dare say almond milk would be the same.

Have a good day folks.

EkwaNimitee Wed 11-Oct-23 08:44:13

Good morning Mick and everyone from brightish Carlisle where it has evidently rained overnight.
Yesterday I had my hair cut, thankfully, it had got past my collar where it had begun to annoy me. I got into town early so popped into Boots to arrange a flu jab and found it was a walk-in day. 10 minutes later I walked out, flu jab administered.
I also got rid of a large bag of mostly winter clothing to a charity shop. I'm planning to get out my winter clothes today in readiness for the cooler weather the forecaster says is on the way shortly. It's still quite mild though.
Apart from doing that, there's a bit of boring housework to tackle and I'd like to get out in the garden and plant more bulbs as it's supposed to be sunny after lunch.

Best wishes for the op tomorrow Wwm, you'll soon be home recuperating.

Have the best possible day everyone.

GrannySomerset Wed 11-Oct-23 08:48:09

Singing this afternoon and domestic pleasures (tidying) this morning so much less interesting than most people’s days but better than several posters who are having a difficult time.

Sago’s wonderful pictures from Norway have been a treat and a little holiday in themselves. Meanwhile I am getting worked up about getting on a train on Friday!

Stilllearning Wed 11-Oct-23 08:49:47

Morning from S Lanarkshire. This has been and continues to be an incredibly busy week so I’m just on to add my feelings of happiness for Urms and her dear man after realising as I scanned that they have had good news from his scan. Lovely news to start the day.

Wishing everyone a good day

Jaxjacky Wed 11-Oct-23 09:03:03

Morning from a dull S Hants, cloud to stay all day. Best wishes for tomorrow WWM2 I know two people who’ve had the op and it’s made a big difference for them.
Jumpers at the ready, we’re due a frost overnight Sunday after a balmy few days.
Enjoy your trips out today, thoughts with the poorlies.

Good morning Mick and all. Blue skies and sunshine today on the Angus coast ☀️!! Feels chilly at 8° but what a joy to see that sun!
Having read all the posts I am now short of time for writing my own as I am off down to Fife to the hairdresser's and then to meet my niece for lunch. It'll be a pleasant drive.
There are a few haircuts going on today - Kalu I hope you enjoy your short bob. Love that quilt grandmattie - where is it destined for? Somebody's very lucky! Hope the hospital appointments and procedures go well - will be thinking of you tomorrow Whitewave. That B&B must be amazing Monk. Thank you for all your photos from Oslo Sago - what an amazingly realistic chocolate Eiffel Tower! And Lulu, glad you eventually got home from Perth - you couldn't have picked a worse weekend if you'd tried! Did you manage to get to House of Bruar?
Now must dash. Marydoll I hope your chat with your GP achieves something and you start to feel a bit better soon. I'm sure Babydoll's visit was a tonic.
Have as good a day as possible everyone, and see you tomorrow x

Good morning from a slowly brightening NE.
Yesterday was a bits and pieces day. Solicitor rang as promised and said POA had not been put in place because I did not sign and return the forms, which forms ? I think, like the bank, they are trying to blame the postal system. We agreed that she would go ahead and would actually bring the paperwork to the house for me to sign.
Sad day yesterday when I heard of the death of a very talented lady who sadly was in a very dark place.
My sister and I are going out for lunch and then she is taking me shopping.
Take care.

Urmstongran Wed 11-Oct-23 09:31:04

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. It’s chucking it down here.

We took early retirement 9 years ago this month. I’m so glad we finished work when we did.

Here’s Matt.

Good morning from an overcast Co Armagh, don’t think it rained in the night , it looks dry
Off to club shortly, an enthusiastic musical man is attempting to get us to sing in parts ! Usually about 20 or 22 members attend , but it can be as few as 15 over 75s ( well over in my case ) , not the makings of a choir ! I’m afraid it ends up in some laughing helplessly !
Have the best day you can , I’m still lighting candles for a member here and our young primary school boy who is now on chemo after brain tumour 🙏🏼🕯️🕯️💐

hulahoop Wed 11-Oct-23 10:09:12

It's a damp morning here ,nothing much happening here I am going for my ears stinging this morning can't believe how expensive it is .
Best wishes Wwm2 it will soon be over.
Susan hope all turns out ok.

grandMattie Wed 11-Oct-23 10:28:22

taichi, I’m making three, one for each of SiL’s nieces who will be at DD’s for Christmas.
I need to get a move on to finish them all!

GrannyGravy13 Wed 11-Oct-23 10:38:44

Gingster the work is due to start mid January, I want to get ahead along with the fact that everything I like has a long delivery time 😡

Even the porcelain tiles for the garden are either unavoidable or will be delivered long after the work needs to be finished.

I am not a happy bunny 🤬

Susan56 Wed 11-Oct-23 10:53:48

Mary I hope the GP can help💐

Beautiful quilt GrandMattie. Hope tomorrow goes well WWM2. Georgesgran fingers crossed for you. Hope you feel better soon Marydoll. I’ve loved your photos Sago.
Quiet day, dgd taken to school then I’ll pick her up later and feed her.
Need to find someone to cut our hedge. It about 40ft long and is now over 8ft high. Unfortunately one side borders a well used footpath.
Have a good day everyone.
