Good Morning Everyone ,
I have woken to wet and dark start here in brackley this morning.
Plans for the day hopefully go to Bicester on the bus, but also get Fish & Chips from chip shop around the corner.
Otherwise see how the day unfolds weather wise etc.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from s somerset, it is windy and warm but not raining right now

Today is a housekeeping day, after my early haircut. I have a lot of washing to do and think there will be rain later so my tumbler dryer will be used a lot

Time to get out the door draught excluders and pick the last of my courgettes, there could well be some ground frost tonight. I also need to re-organise my freezer to make room for the braised red cabbage that I plan to make soon.

It is very much a self--motivated day today and it would be nice to be finished by teatime

Have a good day

Good morning from Bristol. Didn’t it rain last night? I was awake for a lot of it, and heard the pouring rain.
The weather is getting colder, I was quite cold yesterday - I don’t know how to work the heating, fancy night storage, so shall have to ask one of the other residents.
Yesterday was quiet, though I shocked the tai chi crowd. Already, they find me very odd as I do it barefoot. Yesterday, I wore a skirt, decent as it is below the knee and we don’t do high kicks 😂
I went into town on my way to dine with DD and got some purple fabric. I’ll use it tomorrow.
I think I’ll be very tired today as straight after Spanish, I have visits from my plumber/bathroom contractor and the PhD student regarding the environment/utility saving.
I hope Marydoll is getting some assistance from her GP, and that Urms and others get the comfort they need. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Shropshire.A rainy day is forecast.

I have finally had a good nights sleep and my head definitely feels less tender.H is still fast asleep and I am wondering if I can go downstairs to make a cup of tea without waking him.

We will drop him off at school at 12.45 then after a coffee at the garden centre we are going to look for a new back door and conservatory furniture.

I really hope all those unwell can see some improvement today and that all went well for Whitewave yesterday.

My thoughts are with Grandmabatty and all having a difficult time.

Have the best day you can everyone.🌺🦩

Good morning from a wet but mild (18degrees!) Torbay.

I hope Whitewavemark2 had her operation yesterday and will recover well. Many years ago (1967!) my mother underwent that operation and was much better afterwards. She spent a week at a large hospital in Guildford then two weeks convalescing at the cottage hospital in Dorking. How times have changed!!

Another quiet day ahead but then Front of House duty tonight for our latest production (Baskervilles) which involves five actors playing 43 characters! Manic doesn’t come close!

Have a good day, everyone, especially those who are unwell. ! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

(((Hugs to those in need)))

Have a good day folks 🦩🙋‍♀️

Good morning from wet and windy south Gloucestershire, absolutely nothing exciting happening here today. Housework and dog walks.
A good day for sitting down with a book and a cup of coffee I think!
Take care everyone 🌹

Whitewavemark2 Fri 13-Oct-23 06:54:33

Good morning from a wet and dopey South Downs!

I had a call just as I was leaving for my appointment at 12.30 when the phone rang and the ward sister said there had been an incident during the morning, and could I put it off until 2pm, and possible cancellation. I felt sure they would cancel but no all was well.
The whole procedure was smooth, relaxed and efficient. I had pain from the carbon dioxide they used to make room for surgery, but oral morphine and now paracetamol are doing the trick. I’ve been blotto since I got home at 8pm and am now thinking of a cup of tea, but DH is still asleep.

So that is me done! 1 week of keeping socks on, 2 weeks until I can drive and 6 weeks until heavy weights. And hopefully back to normal - minus my gallbladder.
Thank you all for the good wishes - they obviously did the trick. Nothing planned for today, but I will get up and toddle around as I have phlegm in my throat.

DH has a fish pie to heat up with veg,

Peace and harmony to all.

Susan56 Fri 13-Oct-23 07:05:17

Goodness Whitewave I didn’t expect you to be home so quickly but good to hear all is well.

Georgesgran Fri 13-Oct-23 07:10:35

Good morning from Durham - still dark, but a cool, wet, windy day ahead, which may scupper my plans for the garden.
So, a housework day for me, a bit of admin ands walk later with Little Dog.
Just realised the date - so probably wise not to venture far!
Hoping our not too well GNs are a little better and post-ops are recovering.
Best wishes to all. X

Whitewavemark2 Fri 13-Oct-23 07:13:51

Just to add they saved the stones for me to see as they were so big-they said- they were about the size of dice and black. Just in case you are interested😄😄

Good morning from Colchester where it is warm, wet and windy.
I got soaked on my short walk to Boots for my flu jab yesterday. The place was deserted. No ill effects yet, touch wood.
Nothing on the calendar, so housework and shopping for the weekend it is.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning all from a soggy North Leicestershire.

A trip to the butcher's, Waitrose and to M&S after I have changed the bed.

And, Wolfie is 5 today shockso we will pop over when he comes home from school.

Glad to hear that all went well, WWM2 and thanks for the additional info! grin

Grandmabatty Fri 13-Oct-23 07:29:48

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and dry. Whitewave good to hear from you so quickly. Susan I hope you get your cup of tea! Ash that sounds like a really interesting production.
Yesterday I enjoyed art class. I drew a pumpkin using my pastels and my art tutor's pastels. Hers were fabulous so I looked them up when they home. Blimey! I'll need a bank loan. They are handmade and rolled on the thighs of young maidens. Some of that is an exaggeration 😊. However the difference is staggering so I'll start with a few and go from there. I visited mum at night and she was really alert. She chatted quite a bit, was laughing and was playful. Then out of nowhere she asked how my friend was who died in March. That was sad because she got upset when I reminded her. So a good visit but a reminder to me that she continues to forget things.
Today I have a dental check up immediately followed by a chiropodist appointment. This afternoon and evening is all my own. Have a good day all

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is soggy after heavy overnight rain and windy. An indoor day for sure.

Increased energy yesterday saw curtains and soft furnishings changed ready for winter. I do like a change. Mr C is less keen grin.

I’m edgy this morning as our daughter in law will be having three major cardiac surgical procedures involving several surgeons and the whole day. I’ll occupy myself with paperwork which has been piling up, try to navigate the GP booking process for myself and do a general tidy.

An age thing I guess, there seems much medical stuff around me. I’m worried for an old friend who has just been diagnosed with breast cancer, there are four tumours. She has recently moved and has no local support other than an overly busy daughter who does her best. They both phoned yesterday. Another friend is on week four post covid and still very unwell. She refuses to seek medical attention, I’m ashamed to say I’m getting very cross with her. Our goddaughter is very poorly. Thank goodness Mr C is so much better.

That sounds a good result after a bumpy start whitewave. Hope you’ve got that cup of tea by now. We’ll deserved. Special thoughts go to all dealing with life’s personal mountains.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from a wet & gloomy Sefton. Looks like it is set in for the day.
Thoroughly enjoyed last night's Hollies concert. Amazingly two of the original lineup from the early sixties are still in the band. Meeting up with old friends for lunch in a Greek restaurant. No other plans for the day.
Glad to hear WWM2's procedure was successful.Take it easy., Thinking of those with worries & struggles.

Susan56 Fri 13-Oct-23 07:40:40

Thinking of you all today cornergran and hoping all goes well for your daughter in law.🙏🏻💐

Back to normal with breakfast poached egg on toast.
DH needs to sort hearing aid out the one appears to be not working having changed the battery.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s very wet!
Gardener expected this morning but he may cry off. I certainly wouldn’t be gardening in this weather.
Charity coffee and craft this morning then meeting a friend for lunch.
Our walk yesterday afforded spectacular views across the moor to Teesside and the coast then across towards the Pennines. I am pleased that my fitness is improving after a very lazy summer.
Pleased all went well ww. Take it easy.
Thoughts to all the poorlies.
Hope today is kind.

brook2704 Fri 13-Oct-23 07:56:43

NannyJan53 Fri 13-Oct-23 07:57:02

Good morning from a very wet Black Country.

7 mile walk yesterday with my walking group. Felt rather tired after! Lots of chat and a coffee mid way.

SIL is 50 today! So family get together tomorrow. I have been tasked with making a cheesecake. Think I will make a White Chocolate and Strawberry one.

Monk you may find DH's hearing aid has moisture in the tube as they rarely just stop working. I have a little 'puffer' which does the job.

Glad all went ok WWM2

Wishing you all the best day possible

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 13-Oct-23 07:59:08

Good morning from a wet and blustery Oxfordshire. Chilly too.

Swift recovery to those who have had ops, safe travels to those on the move and virtual hugs to those who are stressed, worried and/or unwell.

Have a good day everyone.

Greyduster Fri 13-Oct-23 08:03:35

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a very wet South Yorkshire. Rain is in for the day. I have some batch cooking to do, and must tackle the ironing, and then I shall go three rounds, two submissions and a knockout with the new knitting pattern which I’m struggling with at the moment. But nothing ventured. Grandmabatty the difference in the pastels sounds like the difference between student grade and artist grade watercolour paint. Once you’ve used artist grade, you’ll never use anything else, and yes, they’re expensive but it’s worth it.
A hug for anyone that needs one.
Have the best day you can folks.

Liberty Fri 13-Oct-23 08:07:06

Good morning from a wet looking Suffolk where rain is forecast later.

A lot of ill health and worries here this morning so I will be thinking of those involved and hope for the best day possible for those.

We are off for coffee with an old friend we’ve known for over 40 years. His wife died a year ago and although he is coping well, this time of year is poignant for him. He is also going to certify that we are both ‘ of sound mind’ to proceed with the powers of attorney DH has been preparing.

Grandmabatty Fri 13-Oct-23 08:12:53

Greyduster I absolutely agree. I could tell the difference straightaway. My art tutor has said I should focus on pastels as I have a gift with them.
Cornergran thinking of you and your dil today.
