DH hearing aids working think you was right NannyJan moisture in the tubes.
DS has just been in touch flight back from Albania delayed not leaving now until late this evening back early tomorrow morning has had to change coach back from Luton.

Good morning from a bright Dunblane. Not sure of today’s plans as we are very last minute kind of people including arranging holidays. May go out for lunch or just for coffee. Ds and family away this coming week so no childminding duties will miss them. Yesterday was fairly quiet husband was curling so had an “empty” bliss! Marydoll you definitely deserve to have a peaceful bath hopefully the next time. I think there are many husbands like Mr Md mine can never find anything even if it is right in front of his nose. Hope everyone has a peaceful day.

Yesterday was a quiet day, I was able to hang some laundry out to dry in the sunshine. No such luck today! I need to drop off a urine sample at the GP surgery, just routine checks. Otherwise another quiet day of pottering about the house.

Hope the anti nausea meds help Marydoll, not sure what you can do about the husband though! I dread MrB getting a new bank card as we go through a similar palaver with online orders. Of course it’s always their fault for not being mind readers. He is very practical and good with his hands. Tech stuff is passed straight to me.

Good morning from a grey and wet NE, although ir seems milder than yesterday.
Had a phone call from the bank asking me to try and sort out a problem with another bank, they are trying to access some information on one of my accounts. I had to remind them that I already had the compaints procedure in place because they took 4 months to open an ISA.
Had a letter from the solicitor regarding POA and she had two names to write on the form and got one of them wrong. I can not believe they would send out paperwork without checking all information was correct. This is not a one off either 😡

My sister is visiting this afternoon, we will have tea and cakes and she will put the world to rights.

The weather forecast is for much lower temperatures especially at night so I put the overcoat on the outside tap last night.

Good morning from a damp and windy Essex coast.

DH and I are both unwell, probably from the flight home on Tuesday. What a bummer. We are going away for the night tomorrow, hopefully, and I am going to DD1 next week for a few days.

Not a lot on the agenda today.

Good morning from an overcast Co Armagh, it’s dry and milder than yesterday
I turned the heating on yesterday , but off again this morning , it makes me lethargic if it’s warm , I have to do a seesaw every Autumn with the on/off switch , extra cardigan and a new crochet blanket started to warm my knees , tast one is going to Granddaughter for her Student room , next one is for my Daughter , her Mum !

Oh Marydoll what a palaver! He does sound like my Dh though! Deafness, frustration with phones and apps, and in complete denial ! 😤.

Dh is off to the dentist soon . He had his jabs yesterday and is feeling a bit weak and woolly.

We will meet our Friday friends at lunchtime and will have a good catch-up as we haven’t seen them for the last few weeks.

Monk I have worn hearing aids for almost 20 years, and I have never had one stop working! It is always a blockage in the tube that stops the sound getting through. Of course there is always the exception!

I had to make two medical enquiries yesterday and was very pleased that both were dealt with quickly and efficiently.
DD3 is popping in later before she and her two sisters take their Grandma ( my MIL )for a weekend away in the New Forest.

I need to reserve some energy to make a start on clearing out the bedroom/study downstairs ready for the decorators on Monday. I am still a bit wobbly and full of cold. Onwards and upwards.
I had a good chat with my brother last night. He is having open heart surgery in the next few weeks in Sydney. On a lighter note, his daughter (my niece) who was at the Australian wedding, is expecting a girl. She already has a son who will be nearly three when the new baby is born. Lovely news.

Good morning Mick and everyone from dark rainy Carlisle.

Yesterday I managed the ironing and the washing of the car, the latter act causing despair amongst the large spider community inhabiting it. I was keen to get it done as, frost being forecast imminently, I want to cut off the water supply to my outside tap for the winter. I was still suffering a bit from the flu jab but managed ok. I'm still achy this morning, I've never had a problem before.
Today, wash the floors, hope it dries up so I can plant bulbs, if not, I'll catch up with reading.

Wwm, I'm amazed you were home the same day! I expected you to be broadcasting from your hospital bed. Those gallstones sound painfully large so hopefully you're going to feel a lot better from now on.

Marydoll, your DH just isn't a techie is he?! Mine was the same. It's a bit concerning these days when the smooth running of our lives seem to depend on it . Mine also suffered from deafness denial but eventually caved in to my bullying heavy persuasion and got hearing aids.

Off to London at lunch time to stay with DS and family - the first time for over five years, I realise. Taxi booked so will be on hot bricks till I am actually at the station and realise I am making very heavy weather of all this.

C cake turned out fine, needs to be wrapped up and put away. I have three tradesmen this morning - joiner to hang more doors, plumber to trace a small leak in the en suite bathroom, and flooring man about replacing the manky hall carpet with a wooden floor. Too much excitement (and expense)!

Kate, in the past, my fiery temper would have got the better of me. However, I have mellowed and my BP is high enough, without making it worse, so I must try and stay calm.
I was quite proud of myself, the old me would have blown a fuse!😂

BlueSapphire I have no experience of what gardeners charge but go with my gut if I didn't take to them and look elsewhere.

Not a lot for me today, it’s grey and cool but (I think) has stopped raining. I might pop up to the Hotel Chocolat shop and cafe beside J16 as I am seeing D3 and family on Sunday. She seems to think her in laws are driving me to London but they haven’t actually offered so I thought I would offer to drive for a change as I don’t like to impose or seem needy, but they said No they were happy to drive - but didn’t actually say “drive YOU”
So no further forward. I hate asking for anything, would much rather offer - I think many of us on our own are like that!
Anyway I’ll buy some chocs for them and some for the little boys and try (but not too hard) not to indulge myself!
I hope today brings some succour to all in need and pleasure to us all too.

Good morning everyone from a wet and windy Northampton; I am glad I got the grass cut earlier this week.

Speaking of the garden I had a gardener come.yesterday to give me a quote for a pre-winter tidy up, weeding, digging of borders, removal of old stumps and pruning/cutting back. He got back to me later with a quote of £250. Now, I have no idea whether this is reasonable or not, so I don't know what to do. The thing is, I didn't really take to him, so.... Any advice?

Hoping to get down to the shops this morning (weather permitting) to do a top-up, and have coffee and a snack in the M&S Cafe.

Egg and Bombay potato curry for dinner tonight, yummy!

I'm off up country today for lunch with a friend - the last of my 'happy birthday' meals out for this year. It involves a drive along the old Drovers' Road to the old Drovers' Inn, which always seems to have the best chef around. I suppose it would need to have to attract custom as it is quite far from anywhere! I'm looking forward to it, needless to say, and if the sun is shining on the autumn foliage so much the better.
