Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but its dry at the moment here in brackley , after yesterdays wet weather as I did not leave the building.
Today I plan my normal Saturday ramble bus to Bicester, maybe a coffee and a snack , followed by a shop.
Bus home then a Chinese later on.
My body system is settling as well hopefully a good sign .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick, I hope you continue to improve. Morning all from South Lanarkshire, it’s dry at the moment, let’s hope it continues.

I have no plans today, I’ll try to muster up the motivation for housework, there are definitely neglected corners which need attention.

Have the best day possible everyone and hugs to those in need of them.

Good morning briefly from a dark, dry Cornwall, where I'm cat-sitting at my daughter-in-law's cottage. Am still gutted by the Gaza/Israel situation, an area of the world I'm closely connected to, so will love you and leave you for a while, as I won't feel up to joining in as I usually do.

Good morning from a chillier South Downs

Ohmizuma so many people are effected by what is happening. It is a tragedy. Peace and harmony has never been so badly needed in our world.

Day 2 post op., and doing fine. The local anaesthetic had worn off so I feel like I’ve been kicked in the stomach but apart from that I managed splendidly with everything I ate yesterday.

Nothing planned😄😄 apart from rest and potter. Might get out some watercolours.

Fish pie and rice pudding for dinner - sounds like nursery food! Second childhood😄

Peace and harmony not to just us but all around the world.

Ashcombe Sat 14-Oct-23 06:36:22

Good morning from a chillier Torbay with a temperature of nine degrees being more seasonal than of late.

It's good to know you’re doing so well, Whitewavemark2. And I hope things stay settled for you, Mick. Our thoughts and prayers are with those suffering in the Holy Land, Mizuna.

A coffee morning at church today then another Front of House stint for a matinee performance at our theatre this afternoon. Sadly, I didn’t enjoy the play last night which is unusual for me. In fact, I was quite happy to accompany a patron who was coughing to the bar during Act Two.

Have as good a day as possible. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Morning Mick, morning All from a dry, chilly corner of Somerset.

Much relief here yesterday evening. Our daughter in law had coped well with surgery, surgeons pleased with their handiwork and our son had seen his heavily sedated wife for a few minutes. Such a relief. A need to keep myself occupied yesterday saw my to do list shrink dramatically, reminder to self to concentrate more often!

Not sure what today will bring other than quite a lot of ironing. I’ll get that out of the way and see how we feel. We’ve a rare local theatre visit this evening to look forward to.

Pleased you sound stronger mick. Understand mizuma, appalling suffering, look after yourself as you need to. Good to hear you are recovering whitewave, go gently

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from a dry Bristol. It’s turned quite chilly and I shall probably ask my neighbour how to work the fancy new night storage heaters.p, once she has climbed down from her cloud 9. She heard yesterday that her son and family are returning to Wales after 20 odd years in Oz.
Mizuna, the situation in the Holy Land is appalling, the problem is finding a solution. Many, many prayers for all there, and those directly affected. Ash, I’m sorry the play disappointed you. A real shame.
Today would have been our 46th wedding anniversary.
My lovely young plumber came yesterday and we finalised the choice of loo, shower, etc. Getting very exciting.
Today is quiet, I shall probably doze a lot having had some bad nights and no naps. Church coffee and sewing.
Peace to the world, goodwill to all men. The usual prayers to those who need it, Urms and Marydoll in particular. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩

grandMattie Sat 14-Oct-23 06:55:34

Gentle hugs to corner DiL, Wwm and others who have had surgery.

RosesandLilac Sat 14-Oct-23 07:19:27

Good morning, it must be chilly out there because the heating has come on for the first time this year.
A lazy day yesterday, I actually sat and watched television for the first time in months, I usually only put it on for the news. We binge- watched Soldiers, quite interesting. I crocheted 8 rows of my blanket which is making slow progress.
Today a coffee somewhere after out dog walk I think, little else planned.
I hope you all enjoy the weekend if you can 🌹

Good morning everyone from a fine and dry Northampton. Yesterday, although heavy rain was forecast during the day, it stayed away till late afternoon, and I had my shopping trip in the dry.
Sadly I didn't get my coffee and snack - the M&S Cafe was heaving so went to Sainsbury's cafe instead, only to find it closed.due to a burst water pipe! So I just did my shop and came home.

Off for my flu jab this morning, then shall get a bus into town, and then another one to Milton Keynes. I have a £20 M&S voucher burning a hole in my purse! Shall have lunch out and a good mooch around the shops.

RosiesMaw you would have been very close to me yesterday at Junction 16! I live about 5/10 minutes away. Hope you enjoyed Hotel Chocolat, which I haven't been to yet.

Have a good Saturday everyone.

Good morning, it looks like it is going to be a nice sunny day today, with the inevitable showers

Yesterday was very busy, no-one made me busy but I seemed to roll along. Masses of washing done and tumble dried, heavy mattress turned, bedding changed and room bottomed. This and that plus I decided to make the garden and garden furniture winter-ready. All done but tbh I am feeling zonked and still recovering from vegan food

I am going to give the craft show a miss, having studied the area planner in depth, lots of quilting and other crafts but not really my scene. It will be better for me if I do a local brisk walk later, rather than amble around a showground. So very tempting to buy something delicious from the new artisan bakery but I won`t take my purse. My digestion needs to settle

I made room for braised red cabbage in my freezer, a job for this morning, the two hours in the oven will warm the kitchen nicely. I have two heavy red cabbages and lots of windfall apples=lots of slicing and chopping

Have a nice day

Good morning all from a dry at the moment Black country, rain nonstop yesterday.
Have woke with an upset stomach so there will be no full English for me this morning DH will still partake.
Glad all went well with corner DiL.
Virtual hugs where needed enjoy your Saturday whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
OH is going to see his bees today for the last time this year. He has constructed a special woodpecker guard which he’ll fit on the hive today. Meanwhile, I will carry on sorting things out from the room we are having decorated. Then I’m venturing into the kitchen again for the first time after getting covid, and will make either a beef pie or beef casserole with dumplings. Tomorrow will be the hardest day clearing out the d****d room with lots of shelving to unscrew. We’ve ordered a takeaway from our favourite Sunday lunch restaurant! I might make a crumble as I’ve got some raspberries and crumble mix stashed away in the freezer.
Have a good day everyone, especially those with troubles.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. It reached 21° yesterday but only 13 today, falling to 1 overnight.
We were invited to dinner with DD1 and family last night. We walked 5 minutes to a pizza restaurant in sunshine but got soaked through walking back.
We are visiting DD2 and family for lunch today. DGD is 3 months old and baby cuddles are needed.
Our heating hasn't clicked on yet but I'm sure it will later.
Love to all 🦩 x

Gingster Sat 14-Oct-23 07:49:30

Good morning all and we’re set for a pleasant day, weatherwise.

Dd is back in hospital with Glandular Fever. Her immune system seems to be ‘shot’ after her cancer treatment, and she’s picking up everything that’s going.

Little DGD is at her other gm’s , so we will keep an eye on the boys. Take them in some shopping and bring back laundry.

Mizuna it is truly awful . Try not to dwell! What can we do, only pray 🙏.
GM happy memories ! 💐.
Cornergran I’m glad the op went well for your DIL. 💐.

Have a gentle day 🌻

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s damp after torrential rain during the night which woke me up. I then went back to sleep but had a worry dream and was glad to wake up as it really unsettled me.

Here’s Matt.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Clear blue skies today.
First load of washing on, bed to strip next. Hopefully it wil all dry outside.
Village safari supper this evening. I am joining with a friend and we are responsible for pudding. I’m hoping not to be too late as I have a crazy early start tomorrow for a 7am flight to Palma. DD1 and I are having a short holiday.
GM 💐. I still celebrate my anniversary even if just in my head and heart. I hope you can too today.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a very chilly but brightening South Yorkshire. Yesterday was wet, so apart from a quick trip to the supermarket I didn’t get out. I made a rather nice meatloaf in the afternoon, ate two portions for my supper and cut the rest up for the freezer. After wrestling with the new knitting pattern, I’ve given up on it, and started knitting from an existing pattern. It has cables, but they aren’t very complicated. I think complicated is beyond me these days! Today I will do some more garden tidying and get out for a walk in the lanes.
A hug for all those who need one today.
Have the best day you can folks.

Grandmabatty Sat 14-Oct-23 08:06:32

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 4° and clear skies with the sun just peeping over the horizon. It does feel cold though.
Urmston 💐 Susan thank you for thinking of me. Gingster your poor daughter has had so much to deal with. I hope she recovers quickly. Ash that's a pity you didn't enjoy the performance. I suppose we can't all like the same things.
Yesterday I had a clean bill of health at the dentist, then another at the chiropodist. I did manage to spend a fortune at Matalan between appointments as I had some time. I only went in for a look around and to kill time! Outfits and toys for the boys, new towels, a jumper for me and a pumpkin shaped dish. The rest of the day was spent doing washings and housework.
Today I'm meeting a friend for breakfast at the local garden centre. I'll have to do some food shopping as well. I'll pick up milk and bread and rolls etc for DD and the rest of the family as they arrive back this evening. It looks like they have had a lovely time in Portugal. I have nothing else planned and I'm not sure what to have for dinner. Nothing I think of takes my fancy. Have a good day all

Good morning all from a brightish North Leicestershire.

We have flu jab appointments this morning at 11.37!!

We had a lovely visit with Wolfie and family and he loved his presents.

Glad to hear things went well for people having operations and hope recovery goes well.

Good morning from an extremely wet underfoot Sefton. Torrential rain overnight loud enough to wake me up also Urms. Not raining at the moment though.
DGD2 is 4 today so off to have breakfast/present opening with them soon. Bacon butties have been promised. No other plans for today although like baubles I really should motivate myself into some housework.
Hope today is kind to everyone.

Good morning to you all.

On Thursday afternoon I found a young hedgehog on the kerb opposite our house in our Close at around 3:30pm. I gathered it up and it spent the night in our conservatory with food, water and a box with a towel in. Weighed it yesterday morning at 225g so quite small. We spent some time finding a hedgehog rescue that wasn’t full but did eventually and drove to Devizes and handed it over to a lovely lady and gave a donation. Sadly the hoglet didn’t make it. It was in good health but had a bad break in a leg and was in pain so a vet put it to sleep. Neighbours over the road have had their whole back garden raised to the ground with some kind of excavator so I suspect that is how it came to break its leg as I found it very close to their driveway.

DS regularly visits Israel on business and was due to go next week but of course now won’t be. I have been feeling very tearful about the situation in that part of the world.

WWM I’m in complete awe about how gall bladder ops are carried out these days. Wishing you a speedy recovery. DH had his out aged 25 after a severe bout of pancreatitis caused by blocked gallways. He was living in Holland at the time and was in hospital for weeks.

Thinking of all those living under a cloud. Have the best day you can. We have some flooding in our town in the SW tonight after torrential rain this afternoon.

Have the best day you can all.

Liberty Sat 14-Oct-23 08:20:33

Good morning from a glorious autumnal Suffolk which contrasts so moving long with the news which DH is watching on the tv from the devastating war in Gaza and Israel. As others have said, prayers are all we can offer for humanitarian aid to be available immediately for all who have their homes in that area.

It is 20 years since the monthly country markets( formerly the farmers markets) started in our nearest town so I’m popping down there shortly and have been promised a piece of the celebration cake made by the lady I have got to know who organises them.

Our carpenter who is such a craftsman is coming soon to repair the outside door into the scullery so Imust get a move on,sending good wishes to all and feeling how privileged we are to take for granted the basic human needs of water, electricity, food and our safe environment,
