Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but its dry at the moment here in brackley , after yesterdays wet weather as I did not leave the building.
Today I plan my normal Saturday ramble bus to Bicester, maybe a coffee and a snack , followed by a shop.
Bus home then a Chinese later on.
My body system is settling as well hopefully a good sign .
Take Care,
Mick

Have woken up in DS’s spare bedroom after a perfectly straightforward journey yesterday. I asked for help with lifting my case up and down and charming young men responded. I do now feel officially old, though, but am glad to have accomplished the journey successfully. DS met me at Paddingon and we had a taxi across the river which was a real treat though presumably hideously expensive.

A lovely morning with plans made for lunch out and Iolanthe at the Collisseum (spelling?) so a great day in prospect. Hope the same is true for everyone.

Good morning Mick and All.

A sunny chilly day in prospect today. A friend has invited us to lunch, looking forward to it.

Went to our local theatre last night to see ‘Fire and Rain and American Pie’, which were a group of musicians and singers who performed a fabulous evening of music from the 60s and 70s such as Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, Carol King, the Byrds etc with photo footage and stories. I can recommend this show very highly. Best night out at the theatre in ages. If they tour near you I’m sure you too will enjoy a very memorable evening. NannyJ I know this would suit you as we like the same music.

Morning all,

I thought I had posted, but it has disappeared.

A brief one from me, I'm not too well at present.

Best wishes to all.

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Prescriptions to collect this morning and a quick walk round town. Otherwise quiet day. Thoughts with all of you getting over operations and coping with illness.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 14-Oct-23 08:37:59

Morning all

Blue sky with an autumnal chill in the air, the trees in the rear garden are starting to turn golden and the leaves forming a carpet below.
No plans today, just pottering and the continuing quest to decide on wallpaper and paint colours (again 🤣)

Pleased you are on the mend Whitewavemark2 I hope your daughter in law has had a restful night and that her recovery can begin 🌸

Praying for the innocent citizens of Gaza & Israel 🙏

Have a peaceful day folks 🦩🙋‍♀️

Good morning from a dry, windy Durham. No plans at all today, so I’ll have to amuse myself. I’ve pots to empty and pansies to plant, so that should keep me out of mischief. Might visit bad back friend later, but need to walk Little Dog before dark.
Sorry there are so many poorlies today - hope things improve.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from a sunny, chilly S Hants.
Good news corner I hope your daughter in law recovers well.
And more good news from WWave, pleased your op was successful and you’re sounding quite chipper.
Sorry your daughter is poorly Gingster may she recover quickly and be home soon.
Not a lot on today, a walk, wrapped up; weekly newspaper and rugby later, chicken casserole for dinner.

Good morning all from sunny bur nippy N Bucks.
My trip up the motorway to the Hotel Chocolat cafe and factory shop was very productive and pleasant. I must be easily pleased but sitting with a chilli hot chocolate and chocolate brownie in an air conditioned and soundproofed cafe watching huge lorries in the distance glide silently towards the M1 slip road was very soothing. We’ll have to go there BlueSapphire.
Today will be an at home day. I have somebody coming to take a load of boxes currently in the garage, for their house move, there’s rugby and I hope to see my neighbour who flew home at short notice from their house in France because her 97 year old Dad is poorly., her husband following on by car with the dog etc today or tomorrow. Presents to wrap for a visit to London tomorrow as both SILs had birthdays last weekend and some dog snuggles on the sofa. Restorative thoughts to all poorlies, those recovering and those in distress and my hopes for a gentle day for us all. .

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 14-Oct-23 09:26:57

Good morning from a damp but sunny Oxfordshire.

Mick I wonder if your diet is causing your problems? A friend had a similar op to you and had to stick to a fairly bland diet for quite a while, no Chinese or Indian food for her. Too many spices I think. A food diary might be a good idea.

MissOops has invited us for coffee and cake this morning, It will be nice to get out after 2 weeks of sitting at home (apart from Drs appointments).

As long as I don’t talk (at all!) and breathe in any cold air I’ll be fine. Inhaler clutched in my hand.

I have extended Jewish family who escaped from Germany and some from Russia, I don’t watch the news, it’s just too upsetting, we last visited some years ago and they are always on a war footing, with civilians carrying arms ‘just in case’ plus a strong Military presence at all times.

Hope all those who are unwell have a better day today and best wishes to those recovering.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 14-Oct-23 09:27:47

farview🤞🤞 the worst is the wait I think.

jaxjacky I’m feeling chipper because I’m mollycoddling myself . I’m sat here with long warm dressing gown on plus shawl over my shoulders and flight socks which are remarkably comfortable, plus new furry slippers.

Good morning Mick and all from a beautiful autumn morning on the Angus coast - cold, breezy and the towels are already out blowing, with another wash in the machine.
Mizuna the situation in Israel is horrendous, and presumably you know many people over there. One feels so helpless.
I'm glad your DiL's op was carried out successfully yesterday Corner.
So sorry to hear about your DD Gingster - she's been through so much.
And Marydoll flowers
Whitewave lovely to hear how well you're doing after your op - so good that you can recouperate at home. Just don't be tempted to do too much 😉
Yesterday for me was lovely - a long drive up country and a long lunch with a friend. I left plenty of time for the drive, which was just as well as it would appear to have been hay bale moving Friday on all the farms and no possibility of overtaking these laden tractors on the narrow road. I don't think we'll be venturing to that restaurant again though - the standard has definitely gone down since COVID and the good old days before. Such a shame.
Today my gardener is here - or at any rate I've seen his dog! And I must start another To Do list......
Enjoy your sunny Saturday everyone - in spite of the rain!

Good morning all,
It’s a bright, sunny, breezy and very chilly start today, but a huge improvement on yesterdays wet weather.
Sorry to read that so many of you are feeling unwell today and hope you soon see improvement. 💐
Yes, the events happening in Israel and Gaza are dreadful and extremely worrying. My heart goes out to all the innocents caught up in this dreadful situation.

hollysteers Sat 14-Oct-23 10:44:59

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Failed at art yesterday, I seem to have lost the gift. Concentration up the shoot. Maybe it’s all my gadding about and the winter months will settle me. I then took two large bags to the charity shop, but came away with a full skirted Kaleidoscope skirt in black and white, very smart. I shouldn’t drop stuff off and come home with more!

Off to exhibition in the city soon by train and lunch with friend in restaurant I really like but was very empty last time I was there. Hope they can keep going.
Thoughts to Gingster all with troubles and prayers for the terrible world situations 🙏🏻

Maw, chilli hot chocolate sounds just up my street!

Good morning Mick and all from sunny Lancashire, where it is currently 10°C. Great that things are more settled Mick.

We are up late this morning, we watched Kenneth Branagh’s 1989 film of Henry V last night. So many great actors in it, many sadly no longer with us. Today will be a pottering day again.

It is dreadful Mizuna, so many people and so much suffering. I grew up in a world still recovering from two world wars, I never imagined it might happen again.

You are doing great Whitewavemark, long may it continue.

So very glad to read your good news Cornergran. Your DiL has a long road ahead still, I hope recovery goes well.

GrannySomerset I have always found a plentiful supply of charming young men when traveling solo. There are some advantages to being short of stature and weak of limb grin

Sending virtual hugs to Marydoll, Urmstongran and others dealing with tough times.

May we all find some peace 🌹
