I hate being told not to worry about things as there are other more important things going on.
Today I have given some thought to whose bin was blowing down the street and whether the Tesco man would cope in this weather
.
I hate being told not to worry about things as there are other more important things going on.
It raises my hackles a tad, too.
The minutiae of millions of people's lives is made up of trivialities whilst devastating events are taking place all over the globe. What should we do - live life on a razor's edge focusing only on those events and never talking about anything but them?
No one can or does live like that.
And why the assumption that chatting about trivialities prevents you from caring about, or noticing, the more serious things that are happening? You only have to look at the threads on N&P to see that is not the case.
I think the reason it irritates me so much is because I flippin' well know there are more important things to worry about - even in my own relatively comfortable life, there are more important things to worry about, but I'm just spontaneously responding to an interesting observation, not campaigning on it!
