Good morning from a dry and calm Torbay, where it’s a little chilly at nine degrees. I've slept soundly after my Move It Or Lose It class yesterday!

I hope your appointment goes well, Mick; you’ve a good chance of being seen on time as you must be one of the first this morning.. What an early start you've made on the day!

Yesterday, I began the swap from summer to winter clothes which I’ll aim to finish today, in between going to Props and attending a brief Committee meeting at lunchtime at the theatre.

Thoughts with those with worries about their health or with concerns about others. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from Bristol where it is 9C too, Ash. I haven’t looked out but I think it’ll be dry, with occasional sunshine. At least, there will only be a slight breeze for my outdoor Tai-chi class. I can’t cope with the cold.
I’m very envious of people with the space for summer and winter wardrobes. Mine has to do all year; more layers…
Yesterday, I went to the supermarket with my list, and forgot to add cheese to it, so shall get some this morning from the Coop when I get the paper.
In the afternoon, I went with a fellow resident to the film for the old and decrepit shown in the church hall. Fisherman’s fFriend 2, a rather sweet, inconsequential little story. We had tea and cake afterwards. Not bad for £4.
Today I have to prepare for a very important meeting with the complex management. They are threatening not to replace the present warden when she retires in December. The meeting is tomorrow, but we need to stand together rather than waffling individually, and being given the usual anodyne replies which say nothing at all.
Have a good day, Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and dry. Mick I hope your appointment goes well. Ash a good night's sleep is a wonderful thing! GrandMattie she's very lucky you are on her case!
Yesterday was a good day of childcare. No tantrums and some new words said, chiefly "plums." Dgs2 even tried a plum but wasn't too impressed. He's slow to speak but his understanding is fabulous.
Today we'll maybe go to the park. I'm really tired today. I think the dark mornings are affecting me. In addition, I don't sleep well and wake often in the night. Tonight I'll visit mum. Have a good day all

Good morning from dark and dry Sefton.
Happy belated anniversary NanKate. 🎉🎉🎉
Another here who can’t use hyphenhyphenwordhyphenhyphen withnospaces! (Grammaretto aces it.) Another struggle on my part is carving a pumpkin: an orange pepper could well serve as a substitute this year.
Glad to learn you’re okay Taichinan. Have the best day everyone.

Good morning from s somerset, some sun this morning and showers later

I was wondering why I have time to fill and realised that this season I have not much to do to the house. This time last year I was prepping everything for a full interior paint and that took a full six months, there was masses for me to do, everything to empty, move etc. Before then I was busy settling in, making a garden etc

I filled the morning easily yesterday, some pottering with meals and tidying, then I ground to a halt so, yet again, I unearthed an old pattern and spent a few hours altering it. I was in danger of just sitting after lunch, went for a walk to wake myself and then started sewing but in stages, to spin it out. It all went well, the sewing completely takes my mind off everything else

Today, meals are already planned, sewing after lunch but I will be on the hunt for things to give to cs. I told myself, three things a day, no matter how small.

Have a good day

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. 7° here but is due to reach 10°.

My Helpers left yesterday but had to hire a car to get to their next host due to the flooded roads, cancelled trains and buses.

I met a dear friend who is staying in Edinburgh with her DB. We went to a couple of art galleries and had lunch out.

Today I'm calling on a df who's just out of hospital.
I'm not surprised you are tired grandmabatty Take it easy. Can you nap when the wee one does? Or doesn't he?
thanks Nannagarra
Good luck today Mick with a quick appointment.

Jaxjacky Tue 24-Oct-23 07:01:04

gMattie I just swop shorts for jeans and layers the same, I don’t need lots of clothes.
A walk today, bathroom clean and must book a hair cut.

Good morning from the South Downs where is is 11c forecast to rise to 16c and dry. Still dark though.

Frustrating news from my sister yesterday. She is due to go to east Grinstead on Thursday to have an area removed from the top of her head, and before that can be done she has to have a PET scan to trace (I think) the cancer cells, but the wretched machine has broken down, so it can’t go ahead as planned. I do feel so sorry for her, she is looking so tired, the stress is ghastly.

Nothing planned today - although I will find plenty to occupy myself as usual.

Peace and harmony to all.

Greyduster Tue 24-Oct-23 07:10:07

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very very wet South Yorkshire. It’s tipping down again and is in for the day. I emptied out several gallons of water from the garden butt yesterday - to make room for this lot. My thoughts are with those still trying to cope with the aftermath of flooding here. I also tidied up the patio. Visit to the dentist yesterday morning was fine except I couldn’t pay my bill because their machine wasn’t working. They still haven’t contacted me to ask for my bank details. So, a day indoors for me by the look of things. I wasn’t particularly well yesterday so it will give my system a chance to settle.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning all from the Black country still dark but I think there may have been some overnight rain.
Mick what an early start hope all goes well with your appointment.
Hairdressers this morning have yet to decide any other plans.
Grandmabatty our younger Dgs was slow to talk his elder brother did it for him, he makes up for it now.😃
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.☀️.

Good morning, it’s still very dark here on the Ceredigion coast and quite chilly.
Yesterday’s trip to Aberystwyth was very enjoyable, we had a lovely morning. We went on the funicular railway 🫣😵‍💫, I have to admit I didn’t enjoy it as such because I hate heights! There’s lovely cafe at the top and the views are spectacular. The dog enjoyed a walk along the beach and esplanades to the castle and harbour. The magnificent majestic Old College University building is being restored, I asked a work man about it and he said it’s a five year project.
A quick look around M&S then back here for the afternoon.
Today nothing in particular planned other than a long beach walk when the tide is out.
Take care everyone 🌹

Gingster Tue 24-Oct-23 07:29:02

Good morning all and it’s so dark and rainy. I’m up early as I woke at 4 , lay fidgeting there for an hour and then decided to get up and make a cuppa.

Yesterday was good- we thoroughly cleaned all the conservatory windows - we have a couple of ‘blown’ fanlights but they can wait. It’s sparkling now.
In the afternoon I went to Music and Memories 1959, 69 and 79. It was a good turnout and so much fun. My friend who runs it puts so much into it, researches all the songs and artists and is a natural comedienne. The two hours fly by. We all sing along and some people dance /jig around 😂.

Today I have Bridge club this afternoon. I might bake some cakes to take. I think it’s about my turn. Last week a chap brought in delicious bread pudding.

I’m the same Jaxjacky and GM clothes wise. Don’t have too many, so layer up and swap shorts for longs. No need to put seasonal clothes away. 😉

Best wishes to those who need a bit of support or who are feeling under the weather. 🌻

kittylester Tue 24-Oct-23 07:29:22

Good morning all from North Leicestershire. It is still dark here but seems to be dry.

This morning I am going to 'Sing it Happy' and this afternoon I am helping at a Memory Cafe. I also needs to collect a parcel from Waitrose.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Pittcity Tue 24-Oct-23 07:31:32

Good morning from a dark and rainy Colchester. A high of 14° today.
Charity shop volunteering day as it's Tuesday. Always a busy day.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning from a dark Black Country, where it obviously rained overnight.

Arrived home from Birmingham yesterday lunchtime after a lovely evening seeing The Waterboys.

Pottered in the afternoon, tidying and checking air in tyres of my car.

Covid Jab at 9am this morning! So out early, then onto gym which is nearby.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

RosiesMaw Tue 24-Oct-23 07:38:20

Good morning all from dark and chilly N Bucks.
Trip to the vet I fear as Rosie has pulled a dew claw again and has yelped at intervals during the night when she has knocked it, poor girl.
They open at 8 so I’ll be on the phone as soon as.
Otherwise, no idea what I’m doing today. If it’s fine we’ll go out or I may return a jumper to M&S as it’s big enough for two of me (I understand “oversized” but this is taking it too far) or meet up with a friend for coffee. No pressure to decide yet!
Wishing you well to all in pain, who are ill or have worries and for those still to “dry out”.

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 24-Oct-23 07:38:47

Good morning, it’s just started to lighten up outside and it looks a bit damp, rain is forecast for later.

Hope everyone has as good a day as they can.

luluaugust Tue 24-Oct-23 07:44:03

Good morning from a wet W Kent looks like it has poured all night. I am visiting a friend this morning and just thinking about the best way to drive there. Nothing else planned, yesterday I sorted out a lot of clothes to go to the charity shop.
I hope your appointment goes well Mick
Best wishes to all

Morning Mick, morning All from a clear, chilly corner of Somerset

Enjoyed yesterday. Breakfast at a large shopping centre, some necessary purchases before an hour with our Wonder Woman daughter in law. Our grandson then minded us (!) for an hour while his Mum went for a blood test. On the way home a visit to a garden centre with excellent cake and a magical Christmas display (yes, I know it’s early but….).

Our daughter in law is recovering slowly, one procedure is causing her a lot of pain, overall she seemed brighter than we had anticipated. They are sensibly keeping visitors to close family. We both felt so much better for seeing her.

Today there’s a grocery delivery, we plan to cover the garden furniture while we have a dry spell, I’m hoping to sort some travel insurance for next year and if there’s space don my cleaning head.

Hope all goes well today mick. Good luck tomorrow grandmattie. I’m no expert but the management company wanting to change the basis of your support feels to me a legal issue, perhaps a lease variation. If your house manager is resident it may mean they are seeking to raise funds by selling her flat. Whatever the thinking it’s more hassle you don’t need.

Have the best day you can everyone.

brook2704 Tue 24-Oct-23 07:53:22

Good morning everyone from a clear and dry Inverness, it’s cold though at about 0ª so hoping it’ll warm up a bit later
Hope all goes well today mick and everyone else with appointments and check ups
How frustrating for your sister wwm hope the machine is fixed soon or a different one can be used
I’m off to the gym this morning and doing a volunteering session this afternoon. Tomorrow I’ve got a very early start as I’m off to visit DD1 and family in Cambridge. It’s half term there this week so I’m looking forward to a few outings with the DGSs.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 10°C, a big change from yesterday's -2°C.

Thank goodness I feel a bit better after suffering debilitating booster side effects. I was mortified when I threw up over myself, not once, but twice. TMI!
However, I've had worse side effects and have got off lightly this time!

Today DH had promised to take me out for an hour if I felt up to it. That's been cancelled because DH is now suffering from the effects of his booster, which he unexpectedly got yesterday. He does not cope well with illness.
On Saturday, he had tried to get his along with mine on Saturday, because there are no available appointments until December, (his fault for being tardy in booking) but the Lead wasn't having it, despite rest of my family having been given it along with their 'flu one, when asked if they were in close contact with anyone who was CEV.
We discovered a mobile unit was coming to our town yesterday for a few hours, so DH and his partner ditched the golf and were first in the queue.
The mobile unit comprised two ambulances parked in the Sports Centre car park! Word had got out and the queue ended snaking through the Main St! DH said it was a social event, because everyone knew each other.
Yet another disappointment for me, therefore I've realised the best tactic is not to plan ahead, then I can't be disappointed.

It's good to hear of all the busyness and people out and about enjoying themselves.
Have a good day folks and best wishes to all the poorlies.

Taichinan Tue 24-Oct-23 07:59:04

Good morning all. Goodness that was an early start Mick - real "middle of the night" stuff to me! I hope everything goes smoothly for you.
It's a grey damp start on the Angus coast but supposed to stop drizzling around 9am. So the washing is on and will be ready to hang out before I go to tai chi.
Enjoy your outdoor tai chi grandmattie. I was tempted to do a set in my garden yesterday but didn't have time. It was such a lovely day!
I had a lovely meal with DGD3 yesterday evening - she's such good company. The place was a 'new-to-me' to which I will definitely return - spacious and all rustic bare brick and rough wood and very 'me'. The food was average I suppose, but these days it's the ambience and the company that matter most.
The town itself is not somewhere I've been to very often, but it has some lovely-looking boutiques and gift shops which make it worth another visit when I'm in search of little unusual gifts and cards.
Today my fish shop will be open again after being closed for a family holiday - I did miss it last week!
I hope you all have a good day and those who are less than 100% have a better one x

glammagran Tue 24-Oct-23 07:59:36

We leave today on our cruise to the Canaries with the first stop in Madeira. Packed more clothes for a 14 night cruise than we did last year for a 22 night cruise as it was hot and predictable in the Med in August but not quite the same in October. I’ve had an annoying cough for 6 weeks now following what was quite a mild cold which manifests itself mostly in the evening. I’m sure to annoy other passengers. Not looking forward to the Bay of Biscay.

No childcare for the last week as GS was ill with HF&M which I caught from him last year. We went for a walk with DD and DGD on what proved to be a very sunny Sunday and he was back to his normal self. He did throw a most ferocious tantrum in the park though. The whole county must have heard him. He’s never done it with us though. 🙇‍♂️

Have a good day everyone. Thinking of those who are poorly or with difficulties as always.

NanKate Tue 24-Oct-23 08:02:09

Good morning Mick and All from a grey South Bucks.

Thank you so much folks for the kind wishes for our 52 WA yesterday, much appreciated. I realise we are lucky to still be together.

Off to Rummikub with old friends today. Lots of laughter and chat plus discussions on what to watch or avoid on tv.
