Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start here in brackley this morning.
A busy quick trip to surgery with sample , then food delivery from Wiltshire Foods ,and hopefully a cloths delivery as well .
Otherwise a day at home.
Take Care,
Mick

What superb news Urms. This is the perfect tonic for you and for Himself.
Btw, it’s raining here in Sefton. Now to read the rest of the thread.

Good morning Mick and all from cloudy Lancashire, currently 9°C and raining.

Yesterday was a quiet day on the marina, boating activity dies off at this time of year. The railway museum was busy. I was able to see the steam trains with their spooky decorations. The museum staff, all volunteers, put on a spooky play and stayed in costume all day. Today,I have some old paperwork to shred and more sorting to do.

Wonderful news Urms and a much needed break after a difficult year.

Marydoll MrMD will be an interesting colour and pattern when he gets home! I hope you are feeling a little better at last.

Happy Monday 🌻🌻

Just seen your post Kalu I really must type faster as there are always new posts by the time I finish mine! I’m glad your DH was able to spend some time with family.

Good morning Mick and all from a damp northwest coast.
Nice day yesterday with sister who leaves today. We went into the sand dunes at the bottom of my road for exercise and I know a way through the dense undergrowth on to the beach (it’s a nature reserve) We left a marker coming back but still got confused, it’s so overgrown. My city girl sister doesn’t like to do anything too outdoorsy apart from shopping 😁

DD from the south comes tonight and sister leaves today so it’s like a B&B here…I haven’t practised my songs for days.
Guitarist DS has just played his biggest ‘gig’ so far in Spain so that’s good.

So pleased for you Urms, the trials of life do make us appreciate the good things.
A production of Cranford at Christmas sounds lovely Ash, wish I could see it 🎭

Thank you Blossoming. If we stayed on the GM thread to reply to others, half the day would be gone. 😂
Marydoll I would love to see your DH’s return from such a sunny day on the golf course. Have his bunnet ready.

I had to come back to say how heartening some posts are this morning with improving health for some and the especially good news from Urmstongran.

Earlier I should have acknowledged the many kind comments made yeterday regarding our anniversary with others today wishing DH a safe trip. Luckily, olddudders travels by train, including Eurostar, so he'll be crossing under rather than over the Channel tomorrow, Jaxjacky!

The interactions are always a pleasure to read though aren’t they? Bit like having a chat with friends.

Good morning everyone from a sunny Algarve morning after a very wet weekend.

Had a dramatic start earlier when DH’s knee gave way as he came out of the shower. Thank goodness he didn’t hit his head or apparently anything else on the way down but I had to phone his nephew to help him up again. Fortunately P was both available and capable but otherwise it would have meant calling an ambulance out.
We have our physio arriving very soon and she will soon sort him out and also say if he needs to see anyone else today.

I’ll catch up with you all through out the day.

Urmstongran Mon 30-Oct-23 12:15:26

May I just say a huge thank you to all you lovely GN folk. Your prayers, special mentions (so regularly too when I went AWOL with upset and anxiety) and kindnesses have meant so very much to me over the months. I’m tearful now just thinking about it all. I’m very grateful for this respite. I was even scared to hope for too much. The chemotherapy was brutal but effective. Himself is slowly gaining weight each week, energy and strength too.

recklessgran Mon 30-Oct-23 14:23:49

Hi Urmston,
I so hope you won't mind me messaging you. You don't know me but I'm a very long time lurker on the Good Morning thread and only post publicly on rare occasions. I just had a little happy cry when I read your news and really want to add my very joyful vibes, love, prayers and best wishes to your growing pile - to you and your darling Himself. Bravo to you both! I am beyond happy for you. I always looked forward to your posts and loved reading about your life both here and in Malaga - you sound such a lovely pair. I really, really missed you whilst you were quite understandably AWOL . I really hope you have the best time in your happy place and it's the start of better times for you and your family.
Much love,
Elaine x

JenniferEccles Mon 30-Oct-23 22:51:05

So pleased to hear another piece of good news from you Urms.
I had wondered if you both might be able to fit in a little holiday in your ‘happy place’, maybe during a break in treatment possibly, so how wonderful to see that you are !

Might you organise a ‘ladies who lunch (or is it wine) with your Malaga pals?!!

Urmstongran Tue 31-Oct-23 14:24:45

I certainly plan to JenniferEccles! We call ourselves Ladies Who Wine (LWW🍷 is our trademark). 🤣
I’ve had messages from 2 of the Ladies. “So looking forward to seeing you. Bring tissues”.
As we meet up every Tuesday afternoon, all year round, we decided we couldn’t afford to be Ladies Who Lunch on our ‘bit of pensions’ hehe!
Can’t believe we started our lovely little group 9 years ago now when I retired and still going strong.
