Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry outside here in brackley .
Yesterday went to plan ,and today will get the bus for a couple of hours in Bicester , I was surprised the number of people who I know made the bus journey themselves yesterday , having used the bus service to visit my surgery .
Take Care,
Mick

Taichinan Tue 31-Oct-23 06:08:17

Good morning Mick! I'm not usually this early on here but I've been awake since 4am. There's an interesting thread on here about the effect of a full moon .......
Anyway, glad to hear you sounding a little better Mick.
There's nothing to report from here - just the same old same old as they say. Today is Tai chi and shopping and getting my head round going away at the weekend. It's DGD3's 18th birthday on Saturday and we're all going to Glasgow to see Diversity, followed by a family get-together. That will shake me out of my old routine!
Have a good day today all, and I hope those going through hard times have a better day.

grandMattie Tue 31-Oct-23 06:08:58

Good morning from Bristol.
We had an unexpected series of heavy showers in the morning, and a relatively dry afternoon.
I waited in for the management’s electrician, who was testing the electrical circuits etc., “loose wires, risk of fire” he told me. His fiddling with it and switching the power on and off several times killed my trusty 30 year old radio alarm clock 🙁
I decided to go to town after lunch to get myself another. I took the opportunity to get my glasses straightened at the same time. I don’t what as in the water, but Specsavers was packed to the gunwales.
While waiting for the bus, one of my neighbours joined the queue. We chatted all the way home.
Today, if it isn’t too cold or wet, I’ve got tai chi, otherwise an empty.
Ash, I hope oldduders journey is snag free. Happy reunion.
I hope today brings comfort to all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩

Mizuna Tue 31-Oct-23 06:12:30

Good morning from a dark, damp Cornwall. Today I'm with one of my prayer friends at her house and then collecting a selection of 30 reels of coloured thread from the Post Office where Amazon have delivered it. After that a big sweep-up of leaves from my patio.

The photo is of my granddaughter exploring my 'back garden'; a piece of ancient woodland behind my flat which is slap bang in the middle of town. Very unusual and a privilege to have it under my care for however long I live here.

Mizuna Tue 31-Oct-23 06:12:58

Urms, have an amazing trip, so deserved.

monk08 Tue 31-Oct-23 06:20:36

Good morning all from the Black country still dark but no rain at moment predicted for later.
Bin men woke me up moving bins to edge of pavement.
DS has a day off today as its half term so we are off with him and the boys to Tamworth castle.
Ash may oldduders journey be trouble free and safe travels for anyone else on the move.
Virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

monk08 Tue 31-Oct-23 06:25:52

Lovely photo Mizuna with your own little woodland nymph.

RosesandLilac Tue 31-Oct-23 06:28:12

Good morning, I haven’t looked outside yet so no idea what the weather’s doing here on the Ceredigion coast.
Yesterday we went to a forestry centre and had a lovely walk albeit I struggled in bits with steep slopes. The woodland is magical, vibrant green moss coated the ground, fallen trees and the rocks. I wish I had taken my camera but I left it at home.
We watched the red kites being fed and had a delicious lunch in the cafe- I had cawl, I really enjoyed it.
Today nothing planned but I will take the dog along the beach for a good walk.
Take care everyone 🌹

Ashcombe Tue 31-Oct-23 06:29:26

Good morning from a fine Torbay after some heavy showers yesterday, one of which came as I unloaded my groceries!

My DGD is eleven today! Growing up fast, as they do.

I'm glad you’re able to use the buses again, Mick.

You certainly are unusually early, Taichinan. Lovely to be part of your DGD3’s celebration. I believe the late Duke of Edinburgh, on being introduced to the members of Diversity, enquired as to where they were from and if they’d travelled far. He wasn’t expecting the reply, “London!”

How annoying about your radio alarm clock, grandMattie! Mine won’t let me adjust the time to allow for the hour, so I’m hoping DH will work some magic on it! Thank you for all the good wishes for his trip.

A wonderful place for your DGD to explore, Mizuna and a rare sight in a town, too.
Enjoy your day out in Tamworth, monk08!

The AGM went off well without any of the awkward questions feared by the Chairman. I enjoyed the chance to relax in the bar afterwards with a few members. Back to the theatre this morning for Props.

A good day to all. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Grandmabatty Tue 31-Oct-23 06:37:22

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 5° and dry. Still dark. GrandMattie a busy day for you. Mizuna that's a lovely photo. Urms that was such good news for you yesterday. It'll do you both good. Taichinan it sounds like a nice weekend ahead for you all.
Yesterday, after some faffing, I got my car fixed. Dgs2 and I were out three different times. I let him lead me as he knows where he wants to go.
Today is back to my usual nursery runs and stopping dgs1 from baiting dgs2 too much. I am thinking of you Brook! The nursery are having a wee Halloween party and the inmate's have to dress up. Dgs1 is going as Pikachu from Pokémon, his latest obsession. Dgs2 and I will be out in the garden and the woods this morning. Dd is going to bring them round after dinner tonight to do their party pieces for Halloween. Dgs1 has been practising his jokes apparently. Later I have a Tesco delivery. Have a good day all

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 31-Oct-23 06:39:58

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I am having my flu jab this morning and possibly a covid jab. It isn’t 28 days since I tested positive and I don’t think my surgery does boosters until after that. We’ll see,
A quiet day otherwise. It is my turn to cook so I might make a chicken ratatouille for dinner, I had a busy day yesterday and managed to get through it without collapsing in a heap.
Have a good day everyone.

Greyduster Tue 31-Oct-23 06:42:07

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s going to be another wet South Yorkshire day. I’ve been awake since three! I did little yesterday except sort out paperwork, renew my car insurance and try and get some sense out of the car dealership about what might be a potential problem. Today I have to put some fuel in the car, do some shopping, some cleaning and get some exercise. Not necessarily in that order.
Roses was it Bwlch Nant Yr Arian where you saw the kites? Aren’t they a wonderful sight?
Have a good day folks.

Beechnut Tue 31-Oct-23 06:54:36

Good morning everyone from a dry Severnside.

Wonderful news yesterday Urms to hear you and himself can travel to sunny Spain. It’ll no doubt be an emotional journey but one you’ll gladly take. Put on your sunglasses and sandals and go and watch the palm trees swaying in the breeze ✈️🌴x

I’ve a homeworking day and this evening I’ll do some cardmaking and attempt to tidy my craft room.

Have the best day you can all 🌺

Good morning from Shropshire.

I felt so much better after my trip to the hairdressers yesterday. One of the effects of the medication error was thinning hair. With a few tweaks my hair looks so much better.A slightly lighter colour, a little shorter cut and moving my parting millimetres have made such a difference. It was so nice to have a good chat as well as I haven’t been out much for a couple of weeks.

Today we are going to Cheshire Oaks.I need a new hiking in the hills coat.We will have a meal out and depending on the weather and how we feel we are hoping to go to Liverpool to see The River of Light.

I’m glad the car is sorted Grandmabatty and normal service has resumed.

Hope olddudders has a safe, straightforward journey.

It was so lovely to hear that Kalu’s husband was well enough to sit with family, that baubles husband is getting stronger and that Urms and himself are off to their happy place. Also that Marydoll is hopefully feeling better🤞🏻

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

kittylester Tue 31-Oct-23 07:20:20

Good morning all from North Leicestershire. We had quite a bit of rain during the night.

I had an awful night's sleep - as did a few of us by the sound of it.
Mount Everest awaits attention this morning but that is all that is pressing. Hoping to put up some Denby plates in the kitchen.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 31-Oct-23 07:26:36

Morning all, we have lots of rain overnight, not sure what the weather has planned for my corner of S E Essex.

A say if pottering, bed changing then I am picking up The Imp and his 8 yr old brother (early from school and pre-school) for a trip to the dentist followed by swimmers lesson (DD is at work)

Taichinan some of the Diversity boys are local to us, our AC went to school with a few of them.

Have a good All Hallows Eve 👻🎃🧙‍♀️

Pittcity Tue 31-Oct-23 07:26:49

Good morning from a cold, damp Colchester. Rising to 13° today with rain forecast.
A day charity shop volunteering.
I have sweets ready for trick or treaters this evening. I put a sign out at 4pm and bring it in at 6. We get lots of little ones who are brought around at that time. They are very good at only knocking at decorated houses, so we can usually eat our tea in peace.
Love to all 🦩 x

Morning Mick, morning All from a very soggy corner of Somerset.

A mild and sunny afternoon took us to the sea front yesterday. A walk and a long sit outside a cafe overlooking the water, bliss. Today we’re forecast heavy showers and increasing strength wind which won’t interfere with the planned cleaning. Mr C is back to his old routine now so tasks are shared, it’s all very reassuring. A grocery delivery at some point and that’s it for us.

Good to hear you sound a little more positive yesterday maryd, please do tell how the fake tan worked out. What a shame about your clock grandmattie. Hope the electrician at least helped with the storage heater

Safe travels to all on the move. Have the best day you can everyone.

NanKate Tue 31-Oct-23 07:36:02

Morning Mick and All from a misty South Bucks.

My dear 96 year old friend is taking myself and 2 other friends out for coffee and cake today, to thank us for driving her to WI and other outings. She will come immaculately dressed and will insist on giving me instructions as to how to park the car 😀

Liberty Tue 31-Oct-23 07:37:36

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk.

I feel a bit more human this morning after a reasonable night’s sleep. Jet lag hopefully will gradually ease today.

The photos of my trip( of which these are a very small selection) will hopefully be attach!

The first is of the view from a walk we did along a gentle track overlooked by the foothills of the Himalayas snow capped all year round.

The next is of the Golden Temple in Amritsar at night where they parade the Holy Book with much ceremony. The third is of the preparation of garlic for the dhal, part of the meal prepared daily in kitchens in the temple for 50,000 and served throughout the day and night.

It is all done by volunteers and the food is donated or money given so there is no charge for all who share it.

An amazing and truly humbling experience and extremely well organised…..would that other activities in India were so smooth running.

I feel privileged to have been able to visit once again ‘ incredible India’, as the adverts say.

RosiesMaw Tue 31-Oct-23 07:40:05

Good morning all - dismal out but well what did I expect , it’s nearly NOVEMBER.
Off to Somerset later this morning armed with a Halloween (clementine) cake and three bags of sugar rich ammo for the troops. The weather looks as if it is going to be dreadful so I have to admit to some trepidation (it’s a 3 1/2-4 hour drive) but “feel the fear and do it anyway”. Rosie is going to the K place 😢

Sorry many of you have had bad nights it doesn’t help much does it?
Wishing you all a peaceful,day

karmalady Tue 31-Oct-23 07:40:52

Good morning from s somerset and I won`t mention the forthcoming rain

Taichinan, the full moon always affects my sleeping pattern, that plus the hour change is wreaking havoc with my circadian system. I could not stay in bed after 4.30 this morning

Really busy yesterday plus I made a large parkin, which is now waiting for three days and then I will freeze in portions

Ground is sodden again but I need to be out this morning, I will turn into a blob if I sit all day, hence a walk soon

Rest of the day will be relaxing knitting and some paperwork to sort and knitting patterns to sort and a freezer to sort. Did I say relax?

Have a good day

Have just reached Lanzarote on our cruise. Yesterday we were driven up Mount Teide in Tenerife. It was luckily very clear. We stopped at the very famous observatory half way up and looked at the sun through a telescope and saw the flares coming from it. I chickened out of taking the cable car to the summit as the altitude was making me unwell. It was awful to see the miles of burnt forest but were informed the trees recover very well and 2 years from now they will look the same as before the fires. Having a lot of trouble posting any photos as nothing is syncing properly.

I’m so pleased for you and your husband Urms. Hope you have a lovely time back at your home from home. Ash wishing you a good fortnight with your DH. Thoughts with all the poorlies.

Jaxjacky Tue 31-Oct-23 07:51:28

Morn8ng from a bright S Hampshire, good to hear other halves are improving, happy catch-up with yours today Ashcombe.
Stunning photo’s Liberty thank you.
A very busy day on the voluntary phone yesterday, 15 calls, most are sorted, dregs to clear up this morning.
Quiz was entertaining, my team discovered our knowledge of Halloween trivia is not extensive!
I’ll get a walk today and get some planting done.

Good morning all from bright and dry South Lanarkshire.

Just caught up with yesterday’s thread. So delighted for you Urms.

I laughed at your DH’s mishap Marydoll.

It looks like the weather here could be good for all the guisers this evening. I’ve decorated the front of my house to look suitably ghoulish and have made up many bags of sweets. We used to include apples and nuts but that seems to have gone out of fashion.

Have the best day possible everyone.
