Good morning all from the Black country dark but dry at the moment.
I have an early appointment with the hygienist this morning, then we have our covid jabs booked lunchtime.
Ash hope no permanent staining anywhere.
Lovely quilt grandMattie
Will get myself some breakfast and come back later to read everyone's happenings.
Keep safe out there and enjoy your Thursday may you all find some ☀️.

Morning all from a dark and gloomy West Oxfordshire.
Another beautiful quilt GM! An old friend of mine used to make quilts and always embroidered the name of the recipient and the date in the corner.
I drove OH to a hospital appointment yesterday - not in Oxford - and it took less than half an hour and there was no trouble parking! We were home in time for my WI committee meeting. I will type up the notes this morning. Hair appointment this afternoon. My fringe is desperately in need of a trim as I had to cancel last week. This evening I will be popping round to a friend’s place.

Ash - I once turned the blender on without fixing the lid properly. My kitchen was pretty well spattered!

Have a good day.

Morning all.

The rain and wind woke me up at 4.30am (S E Essex) haven’t been able to get back to sleep 💤 all calm at the moment.

Had a lovely lunch with Sar53 and Gingster yesterday, lots of chatting and laughing, looking forward to the next one x

Manicure first thing, then some internet shopping this afternoon before picking up the 8yr old after football practice for a sleepover.

Lovely quilt grandMattie , Oh dear Ashcombe what a palaver 😱

Hoping you all stay dry and safe 🙋‍♀️🦩

Good morning all - also from S Somerset - I wonder if I am anywhere near you Karma ? A very wild evening but it calmed down around 1 am. Today is still quiet although I think raining. SIL has to be back in London so is driving to Andover to get a train - if any are running! I hope he can benefit from this "window" before it all kicks off again.
Trying not to worry - failing.
Keep safe everybody!

Good morning from the north west. No comment about the weather as I expect some grans have had a very disturbed night.
A day of returning items to shops which have such an extensive stock it’s impossible to view it all in store - long gone are those days.
Stay safe everyone.

Good morning from s somerset, sitting tight here, watching and waiting

I will be staying in today, having once almost been blown over during strong winds in Cardiff. Plenty of pottering to do and knitting, such a nice task using characterful wool and a very easy jumper pattern, no need for a fancy design when the wool does the talking

Have a safe day

What an original quilt - absolutely gorgeous, grandMattie!

Oh, Ash, what a mess…. I hope nothing is too stained. 🤞

It was, grandMattie but no lasting damage, thanks for asking!

Good morning from a wet Bristol. I haven’t heard the wind yet; it’s forecast for mid morning to early afternoon.
I’m due to go to DD’s for dinner, but have been worried about getting there by bus, don’t want to be soaked. During the night, it suddenly occurred to me that I could take a taxi! Duh!
I really want to go as it’s a week since I had a shower, and hair washing is so much easier than over the sink.
I finished #2 quilt yesterday morning and started the third and last one. The little girl is mad about ginger cats, so I’m trying to make her quilt with those as main characters rather than the usual stars.
Have a safe day, don’t be foolhardy in this stormy weather. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a damp Torbay although it’s not particularly windy. A few wild moments yesterday evening gave way to a peaceful night. Ciarán must have been further North unless we've not seen the last of it.

Following the Hallowe'en egg on window mess, DH created an even bigger mess in the kitchen yesterday! I had prepared the ingredients for a turkey Tika Masala but needed help to open the jar of sauce. DH obliged then left the jar on the worktop while we ate fresh Cornish pasties for lunch. (He loves the availability of takeaways nearby, in contrast to France!)

After lunch he picked up the jar and shook it without holding the lid! The mess was everywhere - on the hob, cupboard fronts, floor, all his clothes, even his socks! We just laughed! Amazingly, there was still plenty left to add to the casserole! He is rather accident prone so it’s a good thing I love him.

Thinking of those suffering the worst of the storm and hoping everyone is safe. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from Durham. No storm here, but it is raining - again.
After running around like a giddy kipper this week, I have nothing planned for today. I’m looking forward to just lolling around and perhaps a bit of light housework.
I’ll come back and read through the thread later, but for now, Best wishes to all. X

Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark with some wind but its not raining at the moment here in brackley , unsure whether the storm as past over or its on its way here.
Two options are stay in if becomes windy and wet and not risk a bus journey or see how it looks in a couple of hours .
Take Care,
Mick
