What would you take round to breakfast?

I'm having breakfast round at Dear Friends tomorrow morning.
We often meet up for bacon butties at their house; never at my flat for complex reasons that do not include lack of generosity on my part; occasionally we go out for breakfast where, after a Mrs. Doyle type argument, I get to pay my turn.

This time I'm going round to deliver birthday presents for a few days thence, as they'll be away on the actual day. They've decided to go full English this time. Woohoo.

I'm trying to think of something I could take. It's not that they're short of anything but it's not my nature to go empty handed.

I'd appreciate Grans' suggestions.

Champagne or prosecco and a carton of orange juice so that you can all drink a Bucks Fizz with breakfast

I love Prosecco, didn't suggest it as I wasn't sure if the OP indicated children would be present?

Does it matter, as long as they do not drink it?

Champagne or prosecco and a carton of orange juice so that you can all drink a Bucks Fizz with breakfast.

I think whaatever you give it should be breakfast orientated, not clothes or cakes, alternatively one of those boxes of mixed marmelades. With Christmas ahead, any good garden centre will be packed with presentation boxes of preserves.

Good ideas πŸ‘πŸ»

Thank you very much for all the great ideas!

I went for the fancy pannetone option (chocolate orange), that looked treat-y but not OTT.

I'm going round on Boxing Day, which will be more of an event day and more people in the house (just us 3 today), so will take the Buck's Fizz makings then. πŸ˜‹

I love the Bucks Fizz idea .
Count me in !
And a winter plant like a Cyclamen is a great idea too .

I sometimes make Christmas decorations for friends and I often include a table decoration .
It might be sprayed branches with cones , candles , baubles and ribbons .
I keep their tastes /colour schemes in mind - one of them only likes silver , another pink and one prefers traditional red and green .

A breakfast party is a great idea. I'd love to go to one. It would suit us larks but not so good for the owls among us.

They are welcome here... Supper Party anyone?
