Here there has been so much of this, but I notice the bacon especially. 375 grams now.

Thank goodness there are still 12 eggs in a dozen!

When I bought my last box, I noticed that there are now 10 eggs in a large pack - not 12...! 🙄

I can cope with increasing prices and/or decrease in size but I object to a reduction in quality. Watching Masterchef and seeing the quality of the food they work with I get upset as you can’t buy that in the supermarket. My OH commented on how nice the apples were this week - that should be normal not something to comment on!

I bought a twix the other day as a treat, not had one for years. Couldn’t believe how tiny they are now!!🙀

I bought an upmarket supermarket own brand loo roll last time but won't again.
It's false economy.

I'm back to the Andrex but visitors remarked how small and thin the sheets were, they hadn't changed yet.
Kitkats seem smaller in their new plastic packing.
Own brand kitchen roll I seem to need three sheets instead of one they are so thin but still about the same price.

Green & Black chocolate bars were reduced to 90g some time ago, but now the price per bar is £2.45. I emailed them to say it was getting too expensive, and that I’d stop buying it. ( I’m sure they’re not caring though. ) I was shocked yesterday to see how small Cadbury’s fudge ‘ fingers ‘ have become.

And given the state of the planet, its unacceptably environmentally damaging.

definitely agree about coffee mate also soreen malt loaf, you get less slices, i used to get a good 8 but now only manage 6

My DSs have been complaining about the shrinking chocolate biscuit for years. Wagon wheels are substantially smaller, but it's Clubs which take the biscuit. No one could sing "If you want a lot of chocolate on your biscuit..." now. It's wafer thin!

Smaller sizes of Jam and honey are annoying, particularly if you on-line shop.

I bought Lurpak spreadable first time in a while as stopped when it went to £5 or more Thought it was a good price at £3 + but realise only 400g !

Colgate toothpaste tubes are much smaller, though the box is still the same size!

Yes! Recipes are unbalanced now. Say a cake used to use a 250grm pack of butter, now the butter is in 200grm packs so either have to buy another pack or get out the calculator.

I’m still cross that 4oz isn’t half a pack of butter!

Me too. I still think in ozs, so my usual cake (not that I make it very often) is 8 ozs of everything except the 4 eggs.

You had me scurrying to the fridge to check the butter!
DH stocked up last week and I can report Lidl butter, West Country sea salt and unsalted are still 250g. He bought 5 packs in total (he likes his butter!) so that would have be a whole pack less at 200g.
It is a ripoff but they will just say it’s what we want, like the tasteless “uniform” fruit and veg we all apparently demanded. I don’t remember anyone I knew ever being asked!

It will have to stop at some point or we will be paying £x for a bag/box of nothing!

The cat doesn’t understand why the Whiskas pouches have less food in them.

Everything! I get so annoyed when I’m doing my online shopping because it keeps saying “ this item is no longer available’ no because you’re putting the size of it down again! Few weeks later I look it up again and lo and behold it’s gone down 10grams or more but still same price or even gone up 10p! I couldn’t understand why I couldn’t buy a pack of four pork loin chops for a couple of weeks, then the penny dropped, put into search and there they were gone down from 540g to 500g but still the same price! An increase of 67p a kilo! Feels a bit like being burgled by stealth! So pension has to stretch a bit further.

I've noticed this with my stored 'favourites' with my online shopping at Tesco.
As you say. items out of stock or removed from our range it says but suggests an exactly the same items less than the original weight but the same price or more.
A rip off.
Multi packs of crisps used to be a 6 pack. almost doubled in price and now only 5 packets.
Packs of chocolate multi packs have shrunk no end in size.

I’m more concerned about skimpflationwhere by the order of the ingredients in products are reshuffled eg spreadable butters where some brands have less of the expensive and more of the cheap, and so water instead of being the third ingredient has moved up to second etc

I read a Guardian article about it.

Other products such as a well known soap has more water and less lather, Bagels with bigger holes! Weaker alcohol eg wines in order to meat the latest tax thresholds.

I mind - (and especially about the food)- I’ve started buying block butter again as it has gone down in price slightly) because it is being done surreptitiously in the hope we won’t notice and while they have been quite candid about the “new sized this-n that”, they are less keen to broadcast this skimpflation so very confident are they that we never read the packaging!😡….well I do andI trust my tastebuds.

Agree chestnut. I’m sure Atora used to be 250g, it’s now 200g and costs £3. As a PP said, I now have to buy two packs to make my mincemeat.

We need to start checking weights of things because it's too late after the item has shrunk. You can't always remember what it weighed before. Although I do have my online orders saved, so I can always go back a few months and see what the item weighed then. That's what I did with the Tiptree marmalade. It's nice to have it confirmed that you're not just imagining it.

My daughter bought her Dad a bar of Cadbury’s Caramel flavoured chocolate yesterday. It is like the old Caramac used to be, same colour and taste.

OMG The length was about the same but it was wafer thin, no depth at all and £1.35!!
