I’m always surprised when anyone says their memories start at age four or five or even older. My first memories are from when I was two and there are very many things I remember from those early years.
Now when my daughters talk about their childhood there are often things I don’t remember at all. There were also times in my past when I was deeply unhappy and remember almost nothing. Is it common to have big gaps in your past which you can’t or don’t want to ever recall?
