Good morning everyone from a bright Northampton,.Sun not up yet, and the road looks damp, 5°outside.
Had two good dance classes yesterday where we went through all the routines for our performance a week Sunday: three tap routines, and three ballet. Sat down the rest of the afternoon with a lemon and ginger tea, and a cake!
A visit to the surgery this morning for routine blood tests and a blood pressure check. Then I shall walk to the shops for coffee and a snack before my top-up shop; there are a few things on my list.
Out for dinner tonight with all the family to celebrate DGD's 16th birthday. She has chosen an Italian restaurant, not sure if I shall fancy pizza or pasta.
Was shocked to hear of glammagran's recent cruise. It must have been horrific. I had been following the ship's progress on Facebook last weekend, and could not believe what was happening. I have cruised on both Saga ships, and have another booked for next year; it's not put me off though.......
Safe journey to travellers today, thinking of Urms.

Good Morning Friday 10th November 2023
(50 Posts)Good morning from a grey W Kent. DH has just woken up and informed me he has a sore throat. Quiet morning here and then over to DDs to keep an eye on GS5 who doesn’t really need watching at all.
Gingster Hope you feel better, my teacher DDs tell me tummy bugs are everywhere.
Best wishes to all
Good morning. It doesn’t look too bad outside at the moment but no doubt it is chilly.
DH is off to golf and hoping rain doesn’t stop play.
I’ll potter and then plan some crafting. I have a friend coming for a cuppa this afternoon and we will be planning for a visit next week from a mutual friend .
Hope all the poorlies see some improvement. A good day wished for all.
Good morning everyone from a cold and frosty Inverness, brrr need to wrap up warm today.
Hope you feel better soon Gingster look after yourself
I’ve got a volunteering session this morning them I’ll go into town for a bit of a browse. DH is away this weekend visiting his 3 sons and families who all live in the Manchester area. A busy itinerary ahead for him but a quiet weekend for me.
Safe travels Urms and everyone else on the move today
Happy Birthday to your DGD Sar hope she enjoys her special day!
Enjoy every minute with the DGC baubles
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning from a dry, chilly Colchester. A 10° high with no rain in today's forecast.
A short walk to the City centre for a few bits this morning and a pile of ironing to tackle later.
Love to all 🦩 x
Good morning all from the Black country where it is a dry start to the day.
Some washing on hopefully I can hang it out.
No plans as yet but started a new book yesterday so that will keep me busy.
Hope NannyJan enjoyed her Paul Young gig.
Safe journey home Urms and safe travels for anyone else on the move, enjoy your Friday everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️
Morning all from what sounds a very rainy West Oxfordshire. Younger son is here until Sunday. It is good to see him. He enjoys cooking and has already offered to cook. No plans today except OH had to pick his car up from the garage. It passed its MOT yesterday and will be serviced this morning.
I am thinking of my unwell brother in Australia. He needs a heart operation urgently. Also my sister in Australia who is very sad about her friend’s sudden death.
Have a good day everyone. I bet the Urms wish they were staying longer in Spain!
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 0° with a thick frost. Slippy too. I just put the bin out. GrandMattie not long now! Gingster I hope you feel better soon. Susan poor H. Lots of cuddles needed.
Yesterday I went to the local garden centre and managed to get a nice selection of birthday and Christmas cards. I also picked up a book for dgs2 for his birthday. Later I braved the cold and worked on the garden for half an hour. My new neighbour came over for a chat. They are a sweet wee family with three very small girls. Once inside, the heating went on as I got chilled standing about. I made slow cooker rice pudding but unfortunately I picked the wrong rice -both containers were together - and it was mushy. I think it'll get thrown out today. Last time I made it, I left it too long in the oven and it burned. Clearly not one of my successful dishes 😂
Today I'll visit mum this afternoon but have no other plans. Dd might nip in with dgs2 this morning. She sometimes does that on a Friday. I might get washings done and hung out for a while. I think I fancy a fish supper for dinner. We have an award winning chippie here which is five minutes walk away. I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Cloudy but dry in South Yorkshire at the moment. Glad to hear you’re feeling better, Mick. Keep warm.
Had a lovely walk in the woods yesterday though it was wet underfoot. It seems to be a year for chestnuts - lots of large ones on the ground. At the moment I can’t get down to pick them up. As children we used go out to collect them and roast them in the fire oven on the Yorkshire range. I haven’t had roasted chestnuts for years.
A food shop for me today and then I’ll make some soup. Hope to get a walk in before it gets dark.
Have the best day you can, folks.
Good morning from slightly foggy South Lanarkshire.
Childminding day today and we are bringing two of the children home with us for a sleepover. DS will bring the youngest tomorrow evening and stay the night too. An unexpected busy weekend ahead.
Yesterday we dropped the dog off at DD’s and ended up having to do the school and nursery pick up as DSiL had a puncture caused by a large pothole. Good timing though as we happened to be there.
Sending caring thoughts to those with troubles to bear and hoping everyone has the best day possible.
Good morning everyone from the Essex coast. It's dry but blowy and chilly.
DGD3 is 12 today but already acts just like a teenager. I'll facetime her later when she returns from school.
Nothing planned for today but I need to get out for a walk later this morning .
Thinking of all those with sadness and worries xx
Good morning all and I’m glad to be up after a very restless night. I had an upset stomache yesterday (I’m never ill 😳) .
I feel ok ish now thank goodness as I have a busy day followed by a busy weekend.
Eldest DGD is coming this afternoon by train from southampton . She wants to pick her little sis up from school.
Home for tea and then a school disco.
Dd will be here too .
Safe journey home Urms
Take care everyone 🌻
Good morning from Shropshire.A dry day forecast.
We had an enjoyable day pottering at home yesterday.Lots of driving today though.First to Shrewsbury for a dental appointment😭then straight over to North Wales to look after a still poorly H.
DGD is coming to stay tonight. We will meet DD and SIL at the Remembrance parade on Sunday morning.DGD has been chosen to be in the colour party for Beavers and this year the Beavers are leading the parade so it will be a proud moment for sure.
Sounds like good progress is being made mattie with reliable workmen.
I have been thinking of glammagran and hoping she is getting over her ordeal.
Safe travels to Urms and himself.
Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩
Morning all, yep it’s drizzling here ☔️
Need to get up and cook the 8yr olds breakfast and sort out his school packed lunch.
Yesterday’s shopping trip was not overly successful 😡 The central heating pump broke, DH was on thin ice. He did redeem himself by getting the plumber here late yesterday and cooking dinner 🩷
Gym first thing, then a parcel delivery. This evening we are taking The Imp and the 8yr old out for dinner (local Tapas Restaurant)
Safe journey Urmstongran and himself 😘
Have a good day folks 🙋♀️🦩
Thank you, Ash. I try very hard to be a “glass half full” person.
It must feel wonderful to be heard and things put in action, Marydoll. My prayers are with you and your team.
Good morning from a wet Sefton. More rain overnight, this is becoming the norm. A sunny but cool day is forecast. Hmm, we'll see.
Zoom exercise class first thing. Then I need to be at my laptop to book a very popular residential short break. Booking opens at 10. Followed by a quick trip to our local retail park for some bits & pieces.
An unexpected school pick up this afternoon. It'll be lovely to spend some extra time with GDG2.
Have a good day all.
Good morning from a very wet hilltop on the edge of the Cotswolds, it’s bucketing down here.
Yesterday a rather muddy dog walk but she enjoyed being off the lead for nearly an hour. It was a chilly wind but pleasant in the brief spells of sunshine. The weather has definitely turned, it must have been at least 8° cooler than the week before.
Today is housework, dog has the dog walker and DH is going into town on the bus.
I will hopefully get everything done before he comes back. Beef stroganoff for dinner I think, it can do its thing in the slow cooker.
Good morning from a wet and breezy Torbay.
Normal service has definitely resumed here with a walk to The Babbacombe Inn yesterday evening where we were entertained by a Boxer gently begging food from his owners with a paw on lap! It’s a relief that olddudders feels like going out so we must make the most of the last few days before he returns to France.
Have a lovely visit with your daughter, Mizuna. I admire your positivity, grandMattie, with all the ……….er……….“inconveniences” currently!
Safe journey to the Urmstongrans. Glad to hear good news from Marydoll. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
Morning Mick, morning All from a seriously soggy corner of Somerset.
While beating rain woke me at 4.30 some sun is forecast later. Volunteering for me this morning and with luck a walk on the sea front this afternoon
Mr C emulsioned a wall yesterday morning while I faffed and sorted. All very satisfactory. Braved the rain in the afternoon, torrents of the stuff accompanied by hail stones, to collect a package at M&S food, somehow Christmas treats found their way into the car.
You’ll soon have no need of temporary beds grandmattie. Good to hear you sound positive mick.
Look after yourselves everyone. Have the best day you can.
Good morning from Cornwall where I can hear rain pattering on the pavement. A joy to see my youngest son leading my daughter up the hill from his car when they arrived; my heart swelled. Yesterday she and I watched rubbish Christmas films and chatted until I had to rest because my ex-wisdom tooth gap hurt! Today some shopping and more chatting, very low key and sweet.
Mick a delivery of Parsley Box meals came yesterday in advance of my op; you put me on to those, thank you. So useful when needed.
Good morning from Bristol. It was pouring down earlier, but seems to have eased a bit now.
I’m not going to my Spanish class. It’s just too complicated from here and I need to be available to answer questions. Also, I have to bake for tomorrow’s church charity thingy, etc.
Another night away from home! The poor plumber has been working his little socks off, but still not managed to put a loo in, ditto tonight where I shall be at my lovely neighbour’s as DD has guests for the night. I’m bringing dinner. I shall also beg a bucketful of water as it’ll be off.
The carpenter came round to measure shelves. He said he could come next week or February. Guess which I chose? He was told that the plasterer would be in on the days he could come, so he’s coming Saturday next week… this coming Saturday will have the plumber struggling to get his own work finished, so the plasterer can come. All jolly good fun!
I hope the Urms have a safe journey home, ditto any travellers. May everyone have a quiet day.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good morning, rain at first in s somerset then an ok day. Definitely cooler
Parcel delivery is arriving first, autumn bliss raspberries, I will need to put them into soil, the ground is ready. Off to waitrose after that, or maybe tomorrow. I keep a list with alexa, just telling her if I come acrosss anything I need
I might sew a southbank sweater later, I have warm fleece-backed fabric ready and waiting. I did wrap my shoulders in a big shawl last evening, a nice alpaca knitted shawl and am grateful that I made it last year.
Lots of mights for me today, part of pottering when I don`t have anything definite.
Have a good day
Good Morning from down South.
Up earlier than usual.
Wind woke me up. And I cant get back to sleep again. Because of the wind!
Glad your health is improving.
Almost too early for me to decide what I will end up doing today.
Good Morning Everyone,
Dark but dry at the moment here in brackley .
Today I plan to do the usual trip to Bicester on the bus , but will wear more seasonal clothing with cold conditions forecast .
