Good morning, Mick!

It's about 6C here in Cumbria! I absolutely LOVE winter/rain/cold/snow/wind etc. Yesterday I was wearing my huge long very wide pink cream and blue scarf at work, it looks and feels like real Cashmere but is actually fake, it's like a blanket, even wore it at home last night while having dinner!

But this morning our cat was laying on it after I left it on the coffee table at home and I didn't want to disturb her so I grabbed my black smaller woolly one!

Had a good day at work yesterday with 13 visitors and various sales, we're only a 2 person shop and don't make that much each year, last week Monday to Saturday we had one £38.00 sale on the Friday and nothing for the rest of the week, this week has been the opposite, making some good sales!

However, strangely, we did discover yesterday that one of our regular female customers practices Satanism and casts spells etc.! She used a word, can't remember what, that begins with H and that's when we realized! She's a really nice lady, well spoken. Each to their own as long as she doesn't hex us!

Good morning from coastal West Sussex, where the sun is shining. I’m worried that plants in my rather flimsy supermarket bargain aisle cold frame, will be frosted. I should have lined it with bubble wrap: a job for today.

DGDs anorak was left in our car last weekend so I need to take it back to her. I might get a train if there are any. Then I can read my book and relax 🙂

Thinking of all with poignant memories of family affected by wars of whatever era. Like you Blossoming, I wonder at so much conflict in our world today. Why have we not found a better solution? So many have tried. I hang on to hope and pray especially for all the children caught up in it all.

Today will be a day of remembrance here, it seems to be hitting hard in a war torn world. I never thought to see so much conflict in my lifetime. Lest we forget indeed.

It's a very frosty morning here in West York's. Dgd is dancing at switching on lights this afternoon .Gas company came to fit new radiator but had measured wrong so no radiator in room until correct one ordered.It's lovely to read a lot of good news and lots of coming and going.Have a good day .

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞Northampton, but chilly, 5°C outside. Set to stay dry all day so I have some washing in the machine.

Not feeling quite myself this morning, but self inflicted, as DD, DDoutlaw and I managed to down 2 bottles of red wine between us last night.... I have been up and down to the bathroom since the early hours... We had a lovely evening at a local Italian restaurant celebrating DGD's 16th birthday, where have the years gone? I can remember her first birthday; the gorgeous little baby girl has turned into a beautiful young lady. She was pleased with her presents; I got her make-up, ear-rings and a book token. It is actually her birthday tomorrow, but she has dance competitions this weekend, hence the early celebration.

My main job today (once I have recovered!) is to make the Christmas sausage rolls and get them in the freezer; I estimate about 4 dozen bite size ones, and of course I shall have to try one or two, just to make sure they are ok....!

Then an afternoon reading, catching up with papers and tv, before a steak dinner tonight. Then watching the Albert Hall Remembrance commemoration tonight. Many years ago, in 1969 or 1970, my DBrother took part in it, and was one of the new RAF recruits marching down the steps and into the central floor space to stand as the poppies rained down. Unfortunately I couldn't watch it on tv then, as I was thousands of miles away living in Singapore, but I could imagine my parents' pride.

Good morning from a bright and sunny Essex coast.

DGD3 had a lovely birthday yesterday and is off to Birmingham with 3 friends today to spend her birthday money. DD1 will be following them around and paying for lunch.

DGD4 won a Head's merit award at school yesterday for a project completed over half term. Very proud gran here.

A good catch up with friends last night who have been in India for the past seven weeks.

Good morning all from mix frost and sunshine here in Glasgow.

By evening, DH had returned to almost this new version of his old self which I have become used to seeing now. No interest in food which makes food shopping difficult trying to guess which foods might appeal to him, I end up overeating as I won’t throw food out.

I went out for a few bits and pieces yesterday but driving was quite treacherous in the low winter sun as I witnessed so many drivers going for it hoping the way ahead was clear of traffic.

The sculpting workshop sounds like a wonderful experience Grammaretto. So much skill and patience is needed I would imagine.

Safe travels to those out and about today and hopefully a pleasant/more pleasant day is ahead for all.

A fairly empty day after a full week but this evening a friend and I are going to hear a Vivaldi concert in our beautiful candlelit church which should be a delight for both ear and eye.

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny and frosty Carlisle where there is ice in the bird bath. It's all so much nicer than grey and dampness.
I pottered through yesterday including starting a cull of paperwork and other items in my office. I'm beginning to feel the urge for a general purge around the house, there's stuff I haven't used or looked at for years. Part of the problem is that charity shops are rather picky, understandably, about what will sell and I hate chucking things in the bin to end up in landfill when they could surely be of use to someone.
I'm carrying on with the cull today but will also have my usual Saturday phone chat with my sister.

I'm a fan of Bill Bryson, Ashcombe. I have his tomes 'At Home' and 'the Body', both make very interesting reads.

Good morning from a bright and sunny but chilly Black Country.

Popped to Merry Hill shopping centre with my friend yesterday to buy a few bits and bobs. We decided to go on the bus, which never turned up, so a 20 min wait for the next one. Luckily it wasn't raining! It is definitely busier there, with Christmas shoppers I assume.

Today is a day for cleaning out the kitchen cupboards and re-organising.

Thinking of my Dad today who fought in WW11 after signing up aged 17. I am only here as he survived being shot in the neck after an ambush of his Armoured car.

Good morning Mick and all from another beautiful winter's day in the Angus coast. If only we could bottle days like this!
Yesterday was an 'achieving' day of pottering - I love days like that - and today will be much the same I think. I must order flowers to be sent to my cousin's widow - his funeral is on Wednesday, but too awkward a place to get to for me. And also flowers for my DiL whose father's funeral is Monday week.
Lovely Gardener will be here shortly, so a gossipy chat with him - and thanks for the glorious bird table he made for me as a surprise during October's non-stop rain.

I was woken by DH scraping his car.
Yesterday, it took me ages to scrape mine. DH usually does it, but was so immersed in the latest Scottish Gas saga, he forgot he had promised!

I was so pleased to see Kalu posting yesterday. Thank you for the congratulations for my daughter's achievement.
GM, your statement less worse sums up my situation perfectly. I will never feel well, but there is a definite improvement. I am regaining a measure of independence at long last.
So glad to hear your bathroom saga may be coming to an end.

We spent hours yesterday, collating all the previous correspondence to escalate our latest complaint to Scottish Gas. When DH tried to email it off, it wouldn't send.🤬 I couldn't work out why his email account looked different. Then I realised he was sending it through the Virgin Media website, because his Outlook account hadn't worked for ages.🤬🤬🤬🤬
I asked for a copy of what he had written (assuming he had written and saved it on a Word document, as any sensible person would do), but he had written it all on an email message. I had no way of retrieving it, in order to send it myself. 😭
An hour later I had retyped it all and sent it within minutes.
I am worried that my once sharp witted DH seems to have lost the plot. Unfortunately, he couldn't understand why the air was so frosty!! Of course he is never wrong.
I lost two hours of my life yesterday!

Things picked up when my two girls arrived at the same time. Dollie was so excited and surprised to see her baby cousin, who has the widest smile, I have ever seen. 💕

I need to get moving. The wee bundle of love, lying beside me has requested Scotch pancakes for breakfast. 😍
We have been thoroughly entertained, but our ears are nipping. She never stops talking! 🙉
I have to rethink my Christening outfit for tomorrow. My velvet dress is bronze, not green, as I thought. Somewhere I have expensive tights, bought in Rome for pennies, but never worn. They are in a storage box of Roman bargain tights in that infamous cupboard. I used to stand on the Metro escalator and admire the tights of the chic Roman fashionistas! 🤣

Good morning from Durham. Bright and sunny here, but we aren’t expecting double digit temperatures today.
Yesterday wasn’t good - I delivered legal documents, but for the rest of the day I had acid reflux and was on the verge of being sick and ditched all my plans and came home. Very unlike me. I’ve slept well, but woken with a throat like broken glass, which I’ve probably caught from DGS2. Hope I can shake it off.

Good morning Mick and all from a cold Sunnyside northwest coast. Boy am I tired after missing a night’s sleep travelling back from Bahrain! Nice to be home. Nice to travel and good to return (for a while😁)
When I returned to DDs new flat in the south when we landed, her new fridge freezer was due to arrive sometime that day. Sod’s law, as she was about to take me to the station, the fridge arrived, so she was held up and I missed a train to connect me to my timed ticket from Euston. I had a mad dash with suitcase up and down steps on the underground but made it, phew.
Woman sitting next to me on the train a bit later opened up her egg sandwiches, ugh, as well as coughing her head off all the way home…
My ‘semi detached’ cat next door very pleased to see me and spent the evening on my lap.
Just heard Lufthansa are compensating my friend and I over £200 for flight delays after our trip last month and more for lost luggage, so that’s good.

Good morning from a sunny South Downs - chillier though.

Took Duncan to the vet yesterday as he has slowed up so much that it it was clear that it was not just old age. So been prescribed metacam - so hoping he can get his mojo back.

Out with daughter, son in law and both grandsons with respective girl friends tonight for a meal. Catch up on all their news. Duncan will make it very clear that his approval will not be forthcoming! We normally take him with us if possible, but it is a rather smart restaurant so he will have to stay home.

Might try to rake the little zen garden back to its pristine condition - the foxes treat the gravel like a playground.

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. DH’s sore throat is now a cold so a quiet day here. Keeping an eye on DGS5 turned into something else when none of his keys would open the house doors we don’t have keys yet as everything is new after an extension, so we had to bring him back to our house and DD had to come and collect him, a run round for us all.
Family, long gone are in our thoughts this weekend.

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk with remains of frost on the grass.

I’m off to the country market in our nearest town shortly and then I hope to pot the tulip bulbs in tubs and a tray of violas I bought before my recent trip. I think DH and I and the little dog will have a wander out to the seaside where tea and cake will feature after a walk along the prom.

Thinking of all those remembering family members lost in wars not only in this country but those still suffering in ongoing conflicts today in several parts of the world.

The sculpture is a head. Mizuna 10 of us are building heads using clay. We have a very patient model who has been telling us his life story. He is a one of the Windrush generation. He kindly told me that my head looks like his mother.

I am off to a full day of craft workshops with some crafting friends. No idea what we will be making but sure to enjoy it.

Yesterday dd and dgs2 did pop in for a visit. It is always nice to see them. She's busy making a Spiderman cake for someone today. She has had cakes to make for a number of weekends now. Later I visited mum who was very tired but managed to chat a little. She was in a good mood.
Today I have food shopping to do, and some housework. I did most of the washing yesterday. A friend is phoning for a long chat in the afternoon. Then I'll watch Strictly tonight. I'll sweep up the garden too. Like Brook and Grammaretto the trees are bare and next door's enormous tree has dumped its lot in my drive and garden. I fancy salmon or trout for dinner. I hope Aldi can oblige. Have a good day all

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a sunny but cold South Yorkshire on this Remembrance Day. Not a lot on my agenda today, except to sweep fallen leaves off the patio and do a general tidy up of the last of the dead summer plants. My rockery wall will need regenerating next season - I plan a blitz! Rockeries are my gardening passion.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Another dry day beckons.
This morning I’m going to do some admin then get into the garden. I hope it’s dried up enough to do the lawns.
Bedding already in the machine and I’m putting the electric blanket on the bed before I remake it. Tonight it’s the village firework party. As a thankful villlage we have our party for remembrance weekend. This started in 2018 on the 100th anniversary. Tomorrow’s service of remembrance will be on the village green.

Good morning from Shropshire.

H was much better yesterday so came back with big sis for a couple of nights.Fireworks late last night led to DGD sleeping in my bed and DH in the spare bed.H slept through it all.

Today I have to get DGD’s Beaver uniform parade ready.She is in the colour party leading the parade tomorrow.Inspection at the scout hut at 10😳DD had given her money to buy a poppy at school.She bought a snapband, a key ring and a pencil!We went to the supermarket to get a poppy and the 94 year old selling the poppies said she should be very proud to be on parade.He gave her a second poppy in case one got creased.

The children have requested Christmas decorations to be put up🤦🏼‍♀️I have said they can put some in the conservatory🤷‍♀️

Gosh karma that’s a lot of money for half a trolley full.
