Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start to the day here in brackley this morning.
Nothing planned for the day , i will be putting together a email for the colonial nurse at the Churchill in Oxford with a update as to changes over the past week .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from Bristol. I haven’t looked out yet but we are promised a horrible day, after yesterday’s sunshine.
The sale of cakes and crafts went well in the church yesterday, though appeared to be patronised only by the grey haired brigade. I didn’t look at anything as I was serving drinks and was rushed off my feet for the whole two hours. The money is going to the local food bank.
My plumber came to put in the floor and give me a loo for the weekend. Bless him, he worked his socks off until about 4pm! He left, having put in a fan heater and an oil heater to dry the plaster off, for the painter and tiler next week. My water and electricity bills for November are going to be interesting!
Nothing much happening today. I have a lot of dust to remove, after all the drilling, etc., various things to do, the laundry, and so on.
Have a blessed Sunday. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Shropshire.Rain forecast all day.

Yesterday was tiring and topped off by a problem with the car.We will go to the garage first thing tomorrow but we aren’t happy to drive the car today.DD is coming to collect the children this morning ready for DGD to be on parade. She has said she will take us back to watch her then bring us home again.

We will have a quiet afternoon watching the Remembrance service from last night.

Glad you have a loo again grandMattie!

Happy birthday to olddudders🥳

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Good morning from the South Downs. A wet sort of day forecast.

Had a lovely evening with daughter and grandchildren. Caught up with their news and chatter.

Nothing planned today, although I must ring my cousin to see how my elderly aunt is doing after her stroke. She is 95 and has severe arthritis, so her quality of life will be very poor now.

Duncan the dog has a new lease of life now he’s running on “Metacam” a doggy painkiller. He is like a new dog, and tripping around happy as a lark which is so good to see, as he has been really struggling lately.

Have a good day one and all

Peace and harmony to the world.

Happy birthday olddudders. 💐

Yes that occurred to me as well.

Good morning from Durham. It’s raining. I was awake until 4.30 - my goodness, there’s some rubbish tv overnight! Nodded off for a couple of hours, so I’m staying put - in my bed, for a while yet.
Happy birthday OD and anyone else marking something.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning, a very wet start to Remembrance Sunday here.
Some idiots were settling off fireworks at midnight, it sounded like bomb explosions it was so loud 😡 Car alarms were going off, the dog was utterly terrified and vomited everywhere.
Many complaints on the local Facebook, including people whose horses were so scared they injured themselves trying to get out of fields.
I will spend today cleaning the carpet and trying to coax her out from behind the desk. Poor dog 😢

Well, yes, it's an anti-inflammatory just like "human" NSAIDs and the same care has to be exercised- do not give on an empty stomach or overuse.

karmalady Sun 12-Nov-23 07:10:20

Good morning, wet and cool now but better later. No wonder s somerset is so green with all this rain

A drive to marks foodhall yesterday, another 30 mile round trip but I now have the gift items I will be taking or sending Done and dusted with christmas shopping, apart from fresh food which will be delivered.

My dashboard of doom yesterday when 5 sensor lights came on. I think another abs problem, which sparks a chain reaction. Might be dirt or a new abs sensor, a trip to the local garage tomorrow to get an appointment for a diagnostic. I am glad I have built a good relationship with them

An easy day today and a bit of `putting away` tidying. Give it two days and it will be the same again, homely I call it

Have a good day

Good morning all from a very chilly North Leicestershire.

We have a houseful this morning as DD2 and co came to the local Street Fair which is reputed to be one of the oldest in the country.

We were expecting a visit from DD3 and family this morning but Bertie has broken a metatarsal and needs to go back to the hospital so that will change things.

Pittcity Sun 12-Nov-23 07:27:32

Good morning from a chilly Colchester. Slight frost on rooves and rain forecast later.
Full English this morning before attending the City's Remembrance Sunday event. It's a huge event as we are a Garrison City.
This afternoon we'll go to a smaller more informal parade and service in a nearby town to watch DGS1 who has just joined Air Cadets.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning everyone from a grey and wet Severnside.

Happy 75th Birthday olddudders enjoy your book 🎉🍺

I had a good pottering day yesterday and two loads of washing done to take advantage of the sunshine.

Beechnutella and her fella are coming to lunch and I’m trying out a new recipe on them. I cooked my first SOAP of the cooler season yesterday and put some in the freezer.

Have a good day all 🌺☔️

ginny Sun 12-Nov-23 07:44:49

After a beautiful sunny day yesterday it looks set to rain most of today.
We were planning to attend the Rememberance service on the Market Place but may have to reconsider.
Otherwise jobs indoors and I must get materials ready for the craft club on Wednesday. We have visitors coming Tuesday to Saturday so will be busy.
Thoughts with all who are ill or troubled. Hoping you can have a pleasant day.

RosiesMaw Sun 12-Nov-23 07:47:15

Good morning all from N Bucks.
Was it because I was tired or was it colder last night?
A busy day yesterday- D2 and GS (7)had come up by train on Friday afternoon after school to stay the night and to drive up to Birmingham with me yesterday for GS2’s family birthday lunch. D3 and the family looked in yesterday too on their drive up from London. The D’s had also wanted to visit Paws grave as Friday was the anniversary of his death.
Lovely day in every respect -weather, roads, but mostly being together, it left us no time to be sad.
Just a bit of a rush to get home as D had booked advance tickets back from here to London and getting through the centre of Birmingham on a Saturday early evening was a nightmare.
Anyway I belted down the motorways as fast as conditions would allow and made it to the station with 4 minutes to spare! When they got in, the train was further delayed by2 minutes so they made the train. Phew!
And it conquered any demons I thought I might have had about driving at night!
But I was a limp rag and settled down in front of Strictly on iPlayer with a glass of red and packet of Pom bears which I had bought for the boys.
So today is going to be quiet as I have a hectic week ahead with commitments morning and afternoon every day, including an Arts Society Special Interest Day I am running on Tuesday and the Chanel exhibition on Thursday. Feel tired already hmm
Wishing you all a peaceful and pleasant Sunday 🌺

Good morning from a damp W Kent. Usual call to my DB first and then I shall watch the service from the Cenotaph, otherwise another quiet day as DH still one degree under.
Happy Birthday Oldduders
Best wishes to all

Ashcombe Sun 12-Nov-23 07:48:18

Good morning from a dreary and damp Torbay.

Thank you very much for the birthday wishes for olddudders who is 75 today! We shall go out for a meal later at The Babbacombe Inn on the Downs. He has been reflecting on how lucky he is to have reached this age, given that his two best friends from school didn’t (one died at 26 from mesothelioma) nor his late younger first wife, lost to ovarian cancer in 2012.

grandMattie is so right to tell us to seize the day!

I hope your car is easily put right, karmalady; it sounds like it was lit up for Christmas! But unnerving when it happened I imagine. Likewise your car, Susan56, as I know how much you need it for your drives to and from your family.

So glad to hear that Duncan has been given a boost, Whitewavemark2. He must be a joy to watch.

Have a blessed Sunday, everyone! 🦩🥰✝️💐🦩

Jaxjacky Sun 12-Nov-23 07:58:46

Morning all from a damp S Hampshire, Happy Birthday oldudders 🥂🎂🎉.
Probably fireworks for Diwali RosesandLilac we had some too.
A quiet day yesterday with the newspaper, a crisp walk, MrJ cut the grass and I saw my son for a quick hello.
Today I’ll make a collection trip to M&S, football to watch and pub meat draw, pot roast for dinner.
🦩🦩

I’ve just remembered while woolgathering. DD1 is singing in a youth choir this evening to celebrate the reopening of a theatre/concert hall in the town centre. My plans have to rearranged as I have been invited.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 12-Nov-23 08:04:11

Morning all from a damp looking West Oxfordshire. OH is out all day on a rifle loading course. He has taken a packed lunch. Younger son and I will go out for Sunday lunch. He is a civil servant in Westminster and it does sound rather like a mixture of The Thick of it and Yes Minister!
Have a restful day everyone.

cornergran Sun 12-Nov-23 08:04:50

Morning Mick, morning All. The puddles tell me there was overnight rain, looks like a wet day ahead for our corner of Somerset.

A good if tiring day yesterday. We enjoyed lunch with our friend before admiring the renovations to her home. If I can I’ll attach an image from a supermarket car park, we had stopped for a coffee break en route and this caught my eye.

Quiet one today. We’ll watch this mornings Cenotaph proceedings and potter. Both tired from the drive which fortunately had less urgency than yours maw

Birthday wishes to your husband ash. Good to be self sufficient for the weekend grandmattie. It sounds as if there’s real progress.

Hope this Sunday is gentle with us all.

Grandmabatty Sun 12-Nov-23 08:05:48

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 0°, very cold, very frosty and thick fog. Brr. Ash happy birthday to your husband. I hope he has an enjoyable day. Susan and Karma that's a nuisance about your cars. I hope they are easily fixed.
Yesterday was a usual Saturday. Housework and some washing. It was much too cold to go into the garden. In the afternoon my friend phoned. We blethered for nearly three hours. Later I watched Strictly. A pleasant, undemanding day.
Today I'm looking after dgs2 for a couple of hours while dgs1 goes to a soft play party. His dad is working. Later this afternoon I'll visit mum. In between will be pottering. Trout for dinner. Have a good day all

Alygran Sun 12-Nov-23 08:08:10

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s been cold overnight and we have a lovely sunrise and clear skies.
Last night’s fireworks were fabulous. Today a different tone with the Remembrance event on the village green as there is of course no war memorial in our thankful village. Two villagers lost their lives in WWII and lanes are named for them.
After that a bit of pottering, knitting and reading . like Maw I have a busy week coming up.
Happy birthday olddudders
Have a good day everyone.
