Your favourite Elvis song

Really can't pick one favourite, but the one I distinctly remember hearing as a child was It's Now or Never.
It's now or never, come hold me tight,
Kiss me my darling, be mine tonight.
I was 10 years old and thought that sounded so dramatic and romantic.

Old Shep.....can still move me to tears...

Love so many but particularly Blue Christmas, Heartbreak Hotel & Jailhouse Rock followed by A Little Less Conversation, like the updated version too.
A lesser known one would be Its Only Love and for a Gospel song How Great Though Art. I Love his version of Bridge Over Troubled Water. Loads more I could mention but I’ll stop there

I too like many Elvis songs but the one that is special to me is I just want to be your teddy bear. My dear mum used to sing it to me when I was small and I remember she used to clown around pretending to play a guitar a la Elvis!

My 40 year old DD2 always says he was ‘indecently beautiful’. As a young man, he really was.

He really was stunning in his youth. I loved Blue Moon and Are You Lonesome Tonight.

My DH and I had Home is where the heart is. ( and my heart is anywhere you are) for our song.

Wasn't really a big Elvis fan but my DD and her husband chose "The Wonder Of You" and I thought the lyrics were lovely.

I never really liked Elvis, never bought any of his records.

Not really an Elvis fan but "Love me tender" has a special spot with me.

So many, but especially In The Ghetto, and How Great Thou Art.

Yesterday I watched some of "Elvis and Priscilla" on Amazon Prime, Wish I hadn't. There were interviews with Elvis during his Army days and around that time when he started dating Priscilla who was only 14. In his own words he says that it's good to have a very young girlfriend because then he can "train her" to be the way he likes .... and train her he did, from dictating her hairstyles, clothes, etc. It would be called coercive control these days.

Their daughter, Lisa Marie, was born 9 months after the wedding and Elvis told Priscilla he didn't want to make love to a girl/woman who had given birth to a baby so that was that!

I still like his music and his fantastic voice, and he was drop dead gorgeous when he was young, but I now know things about him that I wish I didn't.
