Good Morning Everyone,
I have woken to a dark and wet morning with some wind here in brackley today.
My plan as usual bus to Bicester and start with my bakery cafe for a coffee and a cake , followed by maybe a hair cut,and a shop .
Must notify the nursing team at the Churchill in Oxford with a update .
Take Care,
Mick

You are quite right, Maw. It was DGD1 singing. I only have the oneDD. Although she has a wonderful voice, used to great effect in sung Eucharists. The other DGD is Iris!

Good morning all from a wet Black country.
Fireworks still going off at nearly 2am this morning so a disturbed sleep, no need to go out today so will probably flick the duster round then start another book.
Mizuna hope your granddaughter recovers soon and the medals are reunited with their owner.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little ☀️.

Good morning from a wet and windy NE.
DS and DIL came at lunchtime after dropping GD2 off at a pool party. They made themselves sandwiches and then we caught up with all the family news. They went to collect GD, her friend lives closer to me than them, while I prepared dinner.
Today I will just tidy round and catch up on some reading.
Stay safe and warm.

Good morning Mickand all from a dull northwest coast.
Off soon for supplies after being away and to the optician. A lens has fallen out of my favourite specs and a screw needs putting into some fashionable red readers. I might pop to pretty local park and visit the cafe, haven’t been for ages.

Long FaceTime with sister in the south last night and watched Life in Squares on Amazon, mainly to see James Norton😍. No subtitles available, which really isn’t good enough, having paid for the series.
All the best for your GD Mizuna get better soon Grandmabatty and thoughts to anyone with worries 🌺

Morning all, we had a lovely weekend at my sisters, tasty meal out on Saturday evening and lazing yesterday.

Haven’t read all the thread, hopefully I’ll catch up by tomorrow 🤣

Have a great day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where its 7°C.
I have had a particularly bad night, due to coughing, a congested chest and being sick. I had thought those episodes were diminishing. I also seem to have a cold, the first one in years.

I do hope the medals can be returned to their owner. Some brave serviceman will be upset this morning.

The Christening ceremony was beautiful yesterday, Babydoll gurgled and chatted to herself all the way through it.
DD was godmother and I found myself very tearful, when DD wrapped the very same shawl, she had worn at her own christening, around my DGD.
It was great to catch up with DIL'S family and my son's University friends.Dollie of course had a fabulous time with DIL'S many nieces and nephews.
During Mass, (she was sitting behind us) she caused much amusement for those around her, by stroking my bargain faux fur coat, reduced from £120 to £20 all through Mass. I was a tad overdressed, I think.

The celebrant was the very same priest, who gave me the Last Rites ( I'm still here) in hospital after my first heart attack. My own PP had phoned him, to ask if he would come and see me, as his parish was nearby. This was the first time I had met him since. I felt very emotional.

Unfortunately, during the buffet, I began to feel unwell and DD had to take me home. I had one of my vertigo episodes. I was so disappointed at not getting to my son's for the family get-together later. People were telling me how well I looked and I'm sure they thought I was attention seeking, because I looked fine..

Today, I need to go to the pharmacy and enquire about my latest CD drug. On checking my overflowing medicine cupboard, I cannot find the tatest prescription. In the last ten days, I have picked up fifteen repeat prescriptions, but have no recollection of picking up this one, which has to be ordered.
My memory is failing badly.

I hope the bathroom work continues to progress and you feel a bit better GMBatty.
Not seen Scalpal about, I hope she is OK.

Have a good day folks. I don't usually post pictures of my family on social media, but surely all babies look the same. 🤣

Good morning from a very wet Durham. It’s poured down since late afternoon yesterday. At least DD2, DGS2 and I fed the ducks before it rained, but at the first drops we headed back to the cars and onto a local cafe for hot drinks - we were frozen.
A double whammy when I got home - the tumble dryer is only blowing cold air and the fan oven isn’t getting hot enough - sounds like elements, so I’ll have to ring for a call out visit.
Another bad night and awake until 4.30am. I’ve nothing (more than normal) on my mind, but I’m simply not tired.
Coffee with friend this morning, then a bit of housework.
Best wishes to all. X

What a little sweetie * Marydoll*

GrannySomerset Mon 13-Nov-23 08:32:19

An empty will be welcome though I need to totter to the village for one or two things but as the rest of the week is quite busy I really need a bit of space. I resent this but see it as part of being old and have to put up with it.

Glad the renovations are going well, gM, sorry you are still feeling so rough, Marydoll and hope the threatened storm does not cause problems. Quite windy in my part of the world but I think we are south of the real problems.

EkwaNimitee Mon 13-Nov-23 08:41:17

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a very wet Carlisle, though we do have patches of blue sky appearing. The clouds are driving over fast. I hope it's not going to be too bad later as I have to go out, a rather busy day ahead.

I hope no one is unduly troubled by bad weather.
And now, must go!

grandMattie Mon 13-Nov-23 08:41:43

What a little poppet, babydoll appears to be! So sad for you that you were unable to join the parties, Marydoll, but glad you felt well enough to atten£ the actual christening and see the family! 🫂

Jaxjacky Mon 13-Nov-23 08:41:55

Morning from a wet and windy S Hampshire but I had a good eight hours sleep.

Good morning from a wet and windy Suffolk . Our paper was delivered at the usual time this morning so the lanes must be passable.

The ironing pile is still lurking and, given the weather, I think I will tackle it this morning. Apart from that, I’’ve got papers to read before a day’s remote meeting on Wednesday so today seems a good day to get through them. Not a very exciting day but necessary things to get done.

Hope today is a good one for all.

Good morning from Shropshire.Bright sunshine but strong gusts of wind.

It was torrential rain for the Remembrance parade yesterday.DGD and her two little friends were the colour party for the Beavers and led the parade.I ended up marching beside them as two leaders were unwell.Thank gooodness I wore my new coat🙈😂I hate having my photo taken but have ended up in a lot of peoples photos😖

DD collected us to take us to the parade then SIL brought us home.He took us shopping on the way home then fixed our car in the pouring rain.It is booked in for a pre winter service next week but we are confident in SIL’s skills that all is well to drive it.

DH has caught either a chill or a cold standing in the rain yesterday so a day in bed for him.I have cancelled everything apart from Welsh class for this week so hopefully a good rest and he will be well enough for DGD’s birthday celebrations at the weekend.I think we do too much sometimes.

Hope you feel better soon Grandmabatty. It’s hard doing childcare when you aren’t feeling great yourself💐

Mary Babydoll is beautiful.I can’t believe she is 7 months old already. So sorry you missed the gathering at your sons house.Hope today is a better day💐

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Wet and windy here. Walking group has been cancelled.
I have a craft group later but otherwise an empty. I may sort another drawer out….
Beautiful baby Marydoll. I hope you manage to sort your meds.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from a wet and windy Essex coast.

DH has gone to try and get a GP appointment. He has had a chesty cough for about 5 weeks now and finally feels it is time to see a doctor !!!!!

I have some admin to do today, no other plans.

What a beautiful baby Marydoll.

I hope you all have the best day possible xxx

Kalu Mon 13-Nov-23 09:01:09

Taichinan Mon 13-Nov-23 09:09:00

What a beautiful photo of Babydoll - such a lovely wee smile.
Georgesgran I have night's like that from time to time when I am just wide awake, for no discernable reason. So annoying!
Susan enjoy a restful week - we all need some down town so that we're fit for the up times.

Blossoming Mon 13-Nov-23 09:15:13

Good morning Mick and all from cloudy Lancashire, currently 11°C. There are severe weather warnings in place, with strong winds and rain forecast. Yesterday was non stop rain but it seems calm at the moment.

I haven’t read the thread yet, but I must say what a beautiful wee girl Babydoll is. I’m sorry you were unwell Marydoll and hope you feel better soon.

Urmstongran Mon 13-Nov-23 09:17:48

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. It’s actually sunny and still here. A nice start to the day. I’m going with my stepfather to a new out patient appointment later this morning. His GP has referred him to a renal specialist. It’s a non urgent appointment so neither of us are overly concerned. As he said yesterday at lunch ‘I’m 91y now so some things are to be expected’. He is very pragmatic and not a worrier. Must be his West Highland genes.

No Matt = Monday.

Babydoll looks such a sunny baba! A real cutie.
