Good Morning Everyone,
I have woken to a dark and wet morning with some wind here in brackley today.
My plan as usual bus to Bicester and start with my bakery cafe for a coffee and a cake , followed by maybe a hair cut,and a shop .
Must notify the nursing team at the Churchill in Oxford with a update .
Take Care,
Mick

Grandmabatty Mon 13-Nov-23 05:44:01

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and damp, as far as I can see. Enjoy your cafe visit Mick.
Yesterday I had dgs2 for a few hours while his brother was at a party. When dd and dgs1 returned, they stayed for lunch. Later I visited mum who managed to chat.
Today is early childcare day. I'll do the nursery drop off and bring dgs2 back to my house. Apparently he ran into the corner of a door last night and has a massive bump. Dgs1 has a cold which he's passed on to us all. My throat is sore this morning, so I'm going to get it too. I hope GrandMattie is coping with the bathroom renovations and Ash's DH had a nice birthday. Susan I hope you get your car sorted. Marydoll I look forward to reading about the baptism. Have a good day all

Good morning from a wet Bristol. The forecast stormy winds haven’t started just yet.
I had a quiet day yesterday, punctuated by a visit from my lovely plumber, bringing a dehumidifier to dry the plaster for the ticker tomorrow. I met his German shepherd too.
In the early evening, I went into Bristol to hear DD1 sing. The Bristol Youth Choir and Orchestra joined forces for a practice use of the refurbished (but as yet not officially opened) Beacon Hall. The youngsters were amazing, the concert varied from Elgar and Bruckner to Rutter and spirituals. The other GPS were there too.
I’d taken a bus in, but DSiL took me home.
Today, more bathroom. Most of the racket and dust are over, the work noise tolerable. I think the shower tray is going in.
I’m not enjoying the work, but having it done is fabulous, and the men are really lovely and thoughtful re. mess and noise.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩

Good morning, it’s wet and windy here on the edge of the Cotswolds.
The dog and I got very wet and cold on our walk yesterday, my coat leaked so reproofing it clearly hasn’t worked. It took a hot shower and several hours sat by the log burner before I warmed up ☹️
I have ordered a warm, waterproof coat online, I hate getting cold because it takes me ages to warm up.
Today I want to do some watercolour painting, I haven’t done any for a while and I definitely need to practice more.
I will take the dog out mid morning when apparently the rain will slacken off 🤞🏻, we’ll go to the village in the car and do the bridleway I think.
Take care 🌹

Good morning, it is going to be dry and sunny in s somerton but very windy

I lit the log fire yesterday, I have a modern closed stove and a fan on top, I kept the living room door open and the warm air blows into the hall and helps take the chill off. I was chilly and just 4 small logs later, I was warm and cosy and let the fire die down before I got too warm

A cosy sweatshirt made yesterday, very quick as it was a tried and tested pattern. Later I ordered warm fabric for three others, a new lovely different pattern with a zipped angled neck, one each for DDs and one for me. It amazes me when I get the ooh that is lovely and yes please, no age barrier to style here and mine will be brightest in lime green

I have an appointment this morning and need to be at the bus stop in good time

Have a good day

Good morning from a wet and windy but mild Torbay. A few photos taken inside our church. We were glad it stayed dry for our gathering round the war memorial to end the service yesterday morning and then for our walk to the Downs for our celebratory meal.

olddudders really enjoyed his birthday and was touched by the number of greetings he received from the lovely GM gang. Thank you, everyone!

It must be good to feel the end is within reach in the bathroom saga, grandMattie and I’m glad the men are a pleasant crew. No doubt you keep them supplied with some of your tasty baking! The concert sounded wonderful!

I hope the cold doesn’t afflict you too severely, Grandmabatty; with all the caring responsibilities you have, it’s the last thing you need!

Hope today is the start of a good week for everyone. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning all from a blustery North Leicestershire. We had rain overnight which woke me up.

Today I have shopping to do for my sick friend and will pop down to see her later on.

It is the last of our zoom Carer sessions this evening which I am pleased about as I am finding it really hard.

cornergran Mon 13-Nov-23 06:54:48

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is very windy but it seems the earlier heavy rain has stopped.

Disturbed night again, I’m really sleeping very little, just 3-4 hours, pain wakes me. A bit auto pilot. Some admin which won’t take long this morning. Our goddaughter will phone to talk through a worry about her mums care home. Not sure what else.

Have for best day you can everyone.

Mizuna Mon 13-Nov-23 07:05:59

Good morning from a rainy Cornwall. My taxi driver son found these medals in his cab last night; hopefully someone will claim them. My eight-year-old granddaughter has scarlet fever so couldn't visit us yesterday but my daughter and I went to my arty daughter-in-law's for a roast, and as they hadn't caught up for a staggering eight years it was a lovely visit. Today, some Christmas shopping and coffee/cake somewhere.

Greyduster Mon 13-Nov-23 07:15:03

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very wet South Yorkshire. I was toying with the idea of walking to my hairdressing appointment this morning but the rain has put paid to that idea. Yesterday DD and the menfolk came late afternoon for a roast dinner and we played cards afterwards which was very enjoyable. A quiet afternoon in prospect. I shall make some soup.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Gala Mon 13-Nov-23 07:17:01

Good morning all. Wet & windy here i Sefton. Storm Debi must be on her way.
We had lovely meal with DS1 & his family yesterday evening. Singing group this morning. No other plans for the day. The weather will keep us indoors.
Have a good day.

Gingster Mon 13-Nov-23 07:17:09

Good morning all and we’ve had lots of rain overnight.

Dgd1 and I had a lovely weekend at ds2’s. Train travel was good both ways and we chatted the whole time which made the journey go quickly.
The two gd’s performed well in their show and made us proud. Some of the older cast could easily be on the London stage. Very professional.

Today, back to now ‘normal’ - pick up little DGD for school and see to DD.

Hoping to get to my ‘Chimes’ group. I’ll see how the ‘land lies’. 🤞.

Wishing you all a ‘good’ day. 🍁🍂

Greyduster Mon 13-Nov-23 07:20:19

I hope someone claims those medals Mizuna. They are post- WWII campaign medals and will be sorely missed by the owner. They should have the owner’s name round the outside edge.

brook2704 Mon 13-Nov-23 07:26:55

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s still dark but looks cloudy and wet with rain forecast for later
Sounds like great progress with the bathroom gMattie and well done to your DGD with her singing
I’ve got 10 year old DGS here, he stayed last night for a sleepover so I’ll be doing the school run later. Afterwards I’ll do a bit of food shopping and a class as the gym. And the last job will be to pick up DH from the station early evening after his weekend away.
Hoping you don’t feel too bad with your cold gbatty and hope your DGD is better soon Mizuna, poor lamb
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Mizuna Mon 13-Nov-23 07:27:41

Ah, thank you Greyduster, much appreciated. When my son wakes up I'll tell him and that may help reunite them with their owner.

luluaugust Mon 13-Nov-23 07:32:15

Good morning from a damp W Kent. Much needed return of our cleaning lady this morning and then the Optician this afternoon for annual check.
Karmalady interesting that you typed Somerton instead of Somerset. My family tree shows my mother’s family lived in Somerton and district for hundreds of years until the 19th century when they packed up and went London. Two daughters worked in a glove factory.
Glad the plumbing works are nearly over gM
Best wishes to all

Pittcity Mon 13-Nov-23 07:32:59

Good morning from a wet, windy Colchester. I believe it's called Debi today.
The rain held off for the 2 Remembrance parades we attended yesterday.
Today is laundry and supermarket along with general pottering.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning from dark and rainy South Lanarkshire.

I’m slightly groggy after a broken night. On Friday we brought the two older DGC home with us. DS brought the little one over on Saturday and they all went home late afternoon yesterday. We are both just a little tired although it was lovely to have them here.

Volunteering today, hopefully the rain won’t deter the customers.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Kalu Mon 13-Nov-23 07:40:55

Good morning all from Glasgow where the stormy weather predicted has arrived.

We have a Sky tv engineering coming anytime between 8am-1.00pm for a fourth attempt to rectify whatever the problem is since we signed up for Sky Cube. 🤞yet another example of, technology is wonderful….when it works.
I am hoping for a break in the weather as I will be collecting DH’s scripts at some point.

Wakening due to pain is a beggar Cornergran I hope you manage to have a snooze later.
I hope your GD recovers soon Mizuna

Have the best day you can all and stay safe for those caught up in this stormy weather.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 13-Nov-23 07:45:24

Morning all from a grey looking West Oxfordshire.
This morning will be the usual Monday Waitrose shop. The cupboard is nearly bare after younger son’s visit!
After lunch I will pop over the road to my friend’s house for a craft afternoon, there should be half a dozen of us. I think we are going to do Christmas things, which reminds me that I should be booking a slot at Waitrose.
I have a busy week ahead so I must pace myself. I am still feeling fatigued sometimes. I had to miss the last craft afternoon a month ago, as I had covid. It’s annoying that I haven’t quite shaken it off yet. I used to be stoical about illness, but covid is a whole different ball game.
I’m going to have to make some Christmas lists soon! I usually send presents to my family in Australia by the end of November.
Have a good day everyone.

ginny Mon 13-Nov-23 07:46:15

Good morning. Wet and dull here in N. Bucks.
I have an appointment with the Physio at 9.30 so must get going.
Will be making preparations for our friends visit .
A good day wished for all.

Grammaretto Mon 13-Nov-23 07:47:33

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is dull and wet.

I hope you dried out eventually RoseandLilac . I usually run a hot bath when I am that cold and wet or have an early night.

Yesterday was very nice with visits, coffee and croissants, dogs, puppies, llamas and alpacas and long chats at the fireside and in the interval of the movie, Barbie talking about our dolls!

Today I have housework and home office school work.

Enjoy the day everyone.

BlueSapphire Mon 13-Nov-23 07:47:55

Good morning everyone from a very wet Northampton; not sure whether to venture out to yoga, as I don't have my usual lift today; shall assess the weather situation around 8 o'clock.

Yesterday was a lovely day; younger DGD (13), arrived at about 10am looking like a drowned rat, but she soon dried off indoors, and we set about making the Biscoff cupcakes I had promised. Have to say they turned out ok, but I have a lot of the Biscoff butter-cream left over, which is going in the freezer this morning.
After a pizza lunch we went off to our rugby match and met DD and her husband there as arranged; DGD was happily settled with chips and a drink, me with a Guinness! Happy to say that it was an excellent match and Northampton Saints won 34-19 against Exeter.
DD and DS-in-law dropped me off at home, where we shared out the cupcakes before they took DGD back to her home.
A warning hotpot awaited, along with a glass of red wine, after which I settled down in front of the tv. Watched a couple of programmes about Kiri te Kanawa, then the Remembrance Day ceremony in London which I had recorded. Just love military band music.

Not much planned for today, a bit of gentle housework, reading, just see how the day goes. Not happy with my radio swap which I did on Saturday, so may peruse the internet to see if I can find what I'm looking for.

Have a good start to the week, everyone.

RosiesMaw Mon 13-Nov-23 07:54:11

Good morning all from wild, wet and windy N Bucks
I hope everybody stays safe if they are our and about.
Proud grans this weekend too- and rightly so- was that your DGD1 Grandmattie in the Youth Choir (not DD1)?
Arts Society Committee this morning I am being picked up at 9.30 and I think I will zoom Art History this afternoon as otherwise it is all a bit of a rush!
GS2 is 12 today! I remember baking him a Toby the Tram engine cake for his FIRST birthday- where did the years go?
Wishing you as good a day as a wet Monday can afford!

Taichinan Mon 13-Nov-23 07:55:09

Good morning from a grey dark Angus coast. Debi hasn't reached us yet, but it won't be long now.
I don't know what I shall do today but venturing out in rain and wind doesn't sound appealing.
Glad your bathroom is making orderly progress grandmattie and should be finished soon.
Hope your cold isn't too bad Grandmabatty.
I haven't heard mention of scarlet fever for years Mizuna. Is that something that's making a comeback? Hope your little granddaughter is better soon.
Have a good day everyone and stay dry and warm x
