Good Morning Everyone,
Have woken to a dark but dry start here in brackley this morning.
Yesterdays outing returning home via Buckingham where I had lunch in a cafe I use when there , plus a couple of pubs which seem to have just as many coffee drinkers as beer drinkers.
Today , usual bus to Bicester , may stay for a couple of hours .
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning Wednesday 15th November 2023
(49 Posts)Good morning from a dry Bristol. We’re back in November, I see!
Having been awake from around 3am yesterday, I had a quiet day and sewed and dozed all day.
The plumber boxed in all the pipes and reclined the floor. He is really doing a splendid job, not leaving until the day’s work is done, around 6pm, bless him.
Today, we have an important management budget meeting. Like everything, our service charge is going up. One of the reasons is that the building insurance has doubled in the last year. No doubt, the usual whinges will be more vociferous. There is nothing we can do, except make sure that we get the best service for what we pay.
In the afternoon, I have a women’s group in the church. I also want to bake a birthday cake for my plasterer for tomorrow.
Good vibes to those with difficulties, sadness or illness. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good morning from Cornwall where we're promised a sunny day. I have my pre-op assessment early this morning so must get on and catch a couple of buses to the hospital. Should be home by midday.
Good morning from a wet hilltop on the edge of the Cotswolds.
I’m off to the hairdressers this morning, I need to drop some money off at a friend’s house for a craft session she’s organising, go to the post office and be back by 10.30 for a phone call from the surgery pharmacist.
The surgery changed one of my medications some time ago because they couldn’t get the one that the consultant prescribed. The replacement one is one that really doesn’t work for me. Trying to get it changed back is proving to be nigh on impossible!
The doctor says I haven’t been on the original medication for some time so I don’t need to have it.
The fact that they changed it without discussion, and I’m getting excruciating heartburn from my hiatus hernia and oesophagitis seems to be irrelevant to him 😡
Let’s see where today’s conversation goes, it’s been 5 months now since the initial request.
I hope you all have a lovely day 🌹
Good morning, sunny and nice today
Car goes in for a diagnostic today, to determine if it is an abs sensor that has failed and I have a nice walk back home and then in reverse later
Today is not planned for anything apart from taking the car.
Have a good day
Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is dry at the moment. Hooray.
Tired and achey this morning, little sleep, envious of Mr C who has no trouble sleeping.
Audiology appointment for Mr C followed by a phone call from a pharmacist for me will fill our morning. Bed changing later, some ironing, not sure what else. Theatre was enjoyable last evening. The row in front was empty, otherwise a full theatre. Something we said?
Bathroom progress sounds good grandmattie. I wish some of our neighbours had your pragmatic approach to service charges. Similar if different medication issues for me roses. Isn’t it infuriating? Hope all goes well mizuma. You sound more energised mick.
Hope Wednesday is kind to us all.
Good morning from a dry and calm Torbay after squally showers yesterday morning made our drive to Newton Abbot first thing. I’m pleased to say olddudders reached home safely last night and really appreciated all the kind good wishes from folks on here.
I hope those with ailments feel better today, including Grandmabatty, who has such a busy life, it seems, with family responsibilities.
Good luck with the pre-op assessment, Mizuna and with your pharmacist appointment, RosesandLilac. . I have usually found that such consultations produce good results.
We had a busy morning at Props with routine jobs and people calling to hire items for other productions. Our theatre company is staging Who Killed Santa Claus this week and the photo shows the set for it.
Happy hump day, everyone!🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
Poor old Santa, Ash. The scene setting looks lovely. All the best.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7° and damp. It rained heavily through the night. Ash thank you. I'm bunged up and a bit achy but it's just a cold. It is kind of you. GrandMattie you are such a kind person too, making a birthday cake for the plasterer. Mizuna I hope all goes well today with your pre-op. Cornergran I hope you can have a nap later.
Yesterday was a good day with dgs2. He was mainly happy and good tempered. The long walk in the morning helped! Dgs1 had another swimming lesson in the evening and had the luxury of a one to one session as none of the other children appeared. He thoroughly enjoyed it, according to dd. He's really taken to writing words and learning at the moment too. The nursery are very pleased with him.
Today is a quiet day for me. I'll potter about and read my book and visit mum in the afternoon for a little while. Have a good day all
Morning all from a damp corner of S E Essex.
Bed changing first thing, then I am off to the gym. This afternoon I need to go through the Christmas Gifts I have to see what else I need 😱
Thinking of our poorly friends
Have a good day folks 🦩🙋♀️
Good morning from Colchester where it's just dawning on what is forecast to be a sunny day with a high of 10°. Looks like it's been raining overnight though.
Wednesday morning coffee meetup in the city centre where we'll put the world to rights!
Love to all 🦩 x
Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
I have an appointment at the dentist this morning - just a check up. Hopefully today will be more interesting than yesterday when I felt grim and spent the day on the sofa. It is the U3A lunch club and then WI this evening. We will be making Christmas crafts which I’m pretty useless at, but it will be fun seeing everyone.
Have a good day.
Good morning from a dark but dry Black Country.
Car passed MOT yesterday with no work needed doing. Not bad for a 10 year old car. Though I only did 2500 miles this past year, bonus of using Senior Pass often.
Today we are off on the train to London to see a show tonight 'Crazy for You'. It is part of my 70th present from MrJ. Stay overnight in a Hotel and back Thursday evening. Using my discount pass the train fare was £21.99 return for both of us. As I wear hearing aids, I can buy the Disabled pass for £20 for the year, and one person travelling with me can have the 33% discounts also.
That is absolutely shocking Roses I hope you can get something sorted.
Wishing you all the best day possible.
Wishing you all the best day possible
Good morning all.
After a week of reeling round like a drunk I’ve finally stopped swaying since leaving the ill fated cruise. The .Gov Marine Accident Investigation Branch have launched an investigation.
The last 7 days have been busy with doing all the laundry (but not the ironing 😂) and childcare on 4 days though Monday was a pick up from school and feed session. DGS2 (2) is obsessed with Fireman Sam and now wants to be a fireman rather than drive tractors when he grows up. Rained too heavily yesterday to be outside so went to Sainsbury’s superstore where he does his best to be helpful.
No other news really. What a dreary month November is proving to be. Have a good day all.
Good morning all from North Leicestershire.
Up early this morning as our cleaners come at 8.45. Helps to get going though as I have a Carer Course this morning.
Off over the forest to pick up a couple of grandchildren from school this afternoon.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning all from N Bucks.
It’s very still outside but fine , the Autumn colours are glorious too.
Yesterday went really well but it wiped me out! Nervous tension, perhaps, worrying about too many different aspects of the day, but actually it was all in hand. Our speaker, Julia Marwood was fantastic - a natural communicator and both passionate and knowledgeable about Scottish Art. She is also studying Gaelic and like our Grammaretto did a residential on Skye this summer. I wonder if by any chance it was the same one? Three excellent lectures , lunch with wine and a group of 50 participants and friends - a really good day.
Quiet day at home today, conserving my energy for tomorrows Chanel exhibition.
Wishing you all a pleasant day.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cloudy and grey with more rain forecast
Hoping the pre op assessment goes well mizuna and you’re all set for action
Hoping you get some resolution from your surgery roses sounds like you’re having to battle hard with them
Gorgeous set Ash the stage looks really good, well done to the props team
I’m off to the gym for the usual Wednesday classes, then I’m looking forward to having a coffee and catch up with my pal. Later I’m picking up DGD from school and bringing her back here for a sleepover, I just love it that she asks to stay over!
Hoping you’re feeling much better soon grandmabatty take care
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning all and it’s fairly bright here in Essex. No rain forecast today.
I don’t have the school run this morning. Other Nanna stepping in 🙄.
Dh and I need to go to the bank, so we’ll have a coffee and a browse in the market.
Best wishes to all 🍁🍂
Good morning from a damp NE after rain all day yesterday.
SIL travelled to the UK yesterday and will be coming to take me shopping providing the car will start, it has been unused for six weeks.
Yesterday I spent the day doing fiddly little jobs, the drain in the shower, yuck but needs must. My battery operated brush came in handy for removing the limescale.
Have a good day.
Good morning it’s bright and damp again. Off to a friend’s house for a cuppa this morning. DH is going to have a look at some photographic equipment of her late husbands. She is downsizing and keeps throwing out bits that do have a value.
Mizuna Hope all goes well
Rose&Lilac all the best with the pharmacist.
Best wishes to all
Good morning all from damp South Lanarkshire.
My yoga class starts at 9.30 so I’ll have to get a wriggle on but right now I’m sitting in bed with my coffee.
Yarn group this evening and that’s it for the day although I must get on with the my angels. We have a huge box full but can never have enough for our Christmas give away.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where it is 7°.
Glad to hear everything is progressing GM. Roses and Lica, I suffer from GORD and my GP thinks my hernia is getting worse. I can share your pain!
Everyone seems so busy today. Yesterday wasn't the best of days, hopefully I will feel better today, because we are off to see Babydoll.
I went to write Dollie's birthday card, to discover I had no birthday card, but two Christmas cards for her. So buying a new on is on the cards today!😂
Unfortunately, despite asking us to formally close our complaint, admitting they were wrong, and the debt being wiped off our account, Scottish Gas have messed up yet again, by increasing our DD by another £250 per month last night. The left hand doesn't know what the right is doing. DH is incandescent. 🤬
How do they get away with such gross incompetence? I don't think I can cope with this anymore.
Guess what we will be doing, before going to visit Babydoll?
Have a good day, you busy people.
I meant to wish you all the best for your appointment, Mizuna.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Wet again. I shall have to find indoor jobs for my new helper. I hope she can declutter and clean. Since my cataract surgery I see the dirt far too clearly. We had some good chat last night about what it's like to be a young Chinese woman in today's world.
Yarn group this morning and community lunch. The plumber didn't come yet again. I wonder what his excuse is this time.
Wishing you all a good day and thinking of all those who have worries and pain.
Good morning from another sunny Suffolk morning.
I have an all day Teams meeting which should be interesting and leave little time for housework! Tomorrow DH and I are off to Ely Christmas market in the cathedral on a coach trip which makes the whole excursion so easy. We will be picked up about 15 mins drive from home very close to a huge church carpark nearby so very easy.
I have booked lunch in the Poet’s House which is close by the cathedral as our favourite restaurant was already fully booked.
I love Ely cathedral which rises majestically from the Fens from miles away as you approach.
Hope those with various appts have satisfaction and others with worries comfort.
