Is criticism acceptable for the rest of the royal family ?

I do feel some sympathy for Sarah Ferguson, but she and Andrew do seem to have an extraordinary relationship with money, There is an account in the DT today of some strange financial dealings with a Turkish millionairess and a fraudster and money paid into their bank accounts.

She and Andrew were quite happy with an open marriage but I think the pictures of her financial adviser sucking her toes upset the Apple cart, especially as the daughters were apparently staying with her.
She was given a hard time by the press because of her weight, which was very cruel. She and Diana had a falling out at some point. A lot of fuss over her auburn hair initially though it became quite trendy after a while.

I don't think nastiness is acceptable where Diana and Meghan are concerned.

Is speaking of their words and actions nasty ?

nadateturbe when Megan hit the news in error I spelt her name as is done in Wales, had an aunt and several cousins. I was told on this forum to spell it correctly, i then chose not to.

I don't consider them infallible, none of us are. But for some reason they are treated very nastily by some GNetters. Too much judgement.

Nobody has said they are evil people. The words I would choose are manipulative, cruel and selfish.

funding your palaces and lavish lifestyles off working people paying tax is pretty selfish

that said, Princess Anne caught the normal train the other week as she couldn't fly in her helicopter and she just stood in a normal carriage with the plebs but I'd think nothing less of Anne

I would say it was sending Charles to Gordonstoun and keeping him there when his parents knew that he was miserable was quite cruel.

My in laws likewise sent Paw to Gordonstoun where he was equally miserable.
I would call them misguided but not “cruel”

were not most children sent away to school aged 7-8 utterly miserable, and often worse, abused.
it was the upper class norm to do so, seen as a privilege, and character building.
we cannot judge the past by the standards of today.
children were almost never removed, or listened to at all about choice of school.
in fact most children knew it was pointless saying anything.
it just had to be borne.
